    Have you played with loading your PA on backwards? The one(or both) with the Xi3. Deploy the motor before you back down and drive it right off the trailer. It’s a real time saver at busy ramps. Then do the opposite at the end of the day.

      I’m actually gonna try this out very soon on my single trailer! Thanks man

    For putting bolts in to frame rails for your straps, look in to riv nuts. Think a pop rivet that has threads in the center of it.

    Great work! My trailer had an upper tier, so it had the vertical posts in the center. The nicest thing I can say about that configuration is, what an absolute PITA!!! I took it off and will never put it back on again. I would like rod holders, but I’ll probably experiment with attaching them to the bed. Your set-up is sleek and streamlined. Those posts will make launching and loading not so easy. You may want to temporarily mount posts to see how they work for you. You may end up loving them. Or, not…LOL!

    Short straps are a temporary problem as you explained in your video, but you could use motorcycle handlebar straps as temporary extensions. Carabiners aren't legal for load security in many areas and those fines aren't often cheap if you get caught. One change I would have considered with your current build, those two holes at the rear centre of the trailer would have been good spots to connect reverse lights and would be easy to wire into your seven pin connection if you can get a 7 to 5-flat instead of seven to 4-flat. Makes those pre-dawn starts easier to accommodate. Great build otherwise! TY!

Thanks for the input about my marine mat question, i got it and got her stuck on with confidence. Keep up the great work and thanks for helping out all the little guys

    Great job trailer looks great. I would actually suggest for the center post putting a ring welded to you vertical post that way you can hook your extension to it. I think the bungee cord will be a pain to deal with because of the H rail. I tired to find an old jetski trailer but everyone I found people want $2,000 for them. I converted my trailer from a 5x8 utility trailer.

    • @KayakUSA1

      I actually thought about that after I filmed the video, you are definitely right just adding an eye bolt would be so much easier and it would work be more secure. Thanks 🤙🏼

    For the time being before you get the middle post done you could extend the ring bolts with soft shackels. They are easy to make from dyneema. There is a tone of video on YT how to make them. What a great build you have done

    I went to breakfast with my wife and had to pause the video. Just made it to the part where you mention the bungees to on the short straps you are going to make. If the bungees keep the straps up and easy to grab, won’t you have to unhook the bungee from the strap anyway to get the strap out from underneath the h rail?

    • @KayakUSA1
      @KayakUSA1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, I actually was overthinking that part. I’ve decided to just go with some eye bolts up high and then I can just clip the strap up and outta the way. Gonna start this build soon 🤙🏼

      @@KayakUSA1 I’ll look forward to the video. I run a Malone trailer currently but I like this build series because I keep thinking of building my own so I can add things like rod lockers and or a rooftop tent.

    I purchased a 6x12 utility trailer to carry my Big Fish 108 and my wife's Moken 10. I want to use pvc for the runners. The Moken is no trouble but I am stuck spinning my wheels for my BF. I have seen several videos that warn against solid runners and pvc that is too big for the hull. 2" pvc works best (3" is too big). I have to elevate the runners / bunks because of the BF hull and I can not figure out how to elevate them without using brackets that would damage the hull. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    This is the 3rd Jet ski trailer to kayak trailer conversion I've watched and none of you have even touched on the issue of the trailer flying into the air with every bump you go over because the leaf springs were made for 1600 lb of jet skis and a 500 lb trailer not 250 lb of kayaks. Im finding a hard time finding info on how to put on springs for a lighter load.
