1:53 I was actually concentrating so hard on minesweeper that I got jump scared when Doug started speaking again.
Same, I ended up zooming in to better see, trying to find ones he missed, and I was not fully prepared for him to resume streaming.

Okay but now actually do Minesweeper Month, but it's just the same game with the different DougDoug formats. E.g. Voice controls, twitch plays, racing against other streamers, explained with food, random inputs. Literally play the same game for a month and make it the most interesting thing possible.

I prefer none stop mine sweeper with no changes except over time the stream worsens in audio and video quality until its just 2 black pixels and insanely low quality voices.

the first 2 would be pretty easy given all that would be needed is up, down, left, right. the 3rd is also pretty easy given he has friends. no idea what that means. the last would be pretty easy for the same reason as the first 2, but minesweeper would be nigh-impossible to beat.
This stream was actually so insane, the text to speech messages were overwhelming even to me, and I'm just a viewer, so I can't imagine what it was like for doug
yeah i’ve been wondering how he’s been doing it for a while now. there’s so many tts and they always interrupt him and make him forget what he was talking about or they’re straight up being weird? like parasocially weird sometimes.
a lot of the times they’re fun and i like when they’re used for bits and inside jokes but i feel like that percentage has been dropping lately. like it’s 70% weird and unuseful messages and only 30% fun and helpful messages

@@c.s2193 yeah but i also have seen some spam tts where it actually plays with the voice mod and makes it funny again. for example there was once one on another streamers stream that read „gluglgluglug help im drowning“ (obv way longer than that) and it did actually weirdly sound like the tts voice was drowning lol. that made me laugh. but i’ve seen *a lot* of annoying number or letter spams that weren’t funny in the slightest. so yea i wish there was an easier way to filter those out other than having to approve literally every single one through moderators. maybe once if AI is actually smart enough? but i don’t rly want ppl to lose money too so idk if an automated refund system can be implemented or smth

The book reading idea just sounds like ASMR. Doug gets a new book, turns on a "Fireplace sounds for 10 hours" in the background, and all we hear is that, the turning of pages, and his reactions to events happening in the book
He doesn't even mention what book it is, leading chat into a wild goosehunt to try and figure out based on his reactions what book it might be aaaaaaaaand that's a stream id watch.... damn its hard to get a truly awful dougdoug stream idea... chat is half the stream, so we'd find some way to get hype out of the smallest thing

Doug underestimates how ravenous fans are for this content. One of the hypest streams of the past few years was RT Game watching Paint Dry. Smii7y had played Solitaire silently for an hour multiple times. This is the kind of content I come here for.

Same. I like watching doug because he's the chill funny guy doing gaming challenges and innovative stuff with his chat.
His relationship with chat feels so strained recently though and it makes the streams tough to watch. Repeatedly telling chat not to spam, not to say irrelevant stuff, not to use TTS so it isn't backed up, etc.
@@zaknafein254 yeah, kinda the same, although I'm not quite so annoyed by it as a viewer right now. I think it is a thing where he's just gotten so much success and attention lately that it's starting to turn his community/streams into something bigger than he was used to. To be fair, at this level, some reminders of the rules is going to be needed now and then. Also though, in this very Mario Party stream, he did increase the price of TTS. It was a bit ridiculous, as the TTS was essentially just going non-stop until that point.

@onlysmiles4949 in other words, he has a problem that no one has... but yeah idk how he solves this, to a lot of people, how chaotic twitch chat is with jokes and requests and how much streams derail is the unique dougdoug experience. But not sure how much Doug enjoys it especially during that one skyrim video where tts gets especially unhinged. He can't really get rid of tts but maybe he has to focus on the actual chat more than tts idk
After the secret rules stream, I wouldn't be surprised if any first time viewers just never returned. 😅

tbf, a lot of it probably isn’t actually people being more interested in watching the boring stuff, it’s probably mostly people joining/people who weren’t paying attention tuning in and wondering “what the hell is he doing” and then staying longer than they would’ve otherwise
probably a fairly similar story to the greater than expected success of five minute coding adventures. sure a good chunk of it is people genuinely interested in the coding itself, but there’s probably quite a few people who watch the coding part because they think the main event sounds interesting, but the main event ends up being less interesting than expected so they leave. both groups behave the same in terms of whether or not they’re watching, but only one group is actively enjoying the coding, and the other group changes from stream to stream
