Really enjoyed this show. I’m 82 and when I was a young kid, I went out with my father harpooning tuna (not tunas) off Mount Desert Island, Maine. No electric shocks back then! Often, the rope was attached to a keg to let the tuna run for awhile, especially if it was a large fish. I still have a dart (harpoon) that my father used. The tuna he harpooned were typically 400-700 lbs. It was one of the most exciting times of my life.
Awesome memories, thank you for sharing! Those must have been some special times harpooning tuna with your dad. That is what it's all about! I'm also really happy you enjoyed this show. It took me many hours to put together, but it was well worth it. The weather and fish cooperated, and Tyler and Sean did a great job capitalizing on the opportunities Mother Nature gave us. Thanks again for the comment and for watching!
Never waste the tuna head, it has a ton of meat and it’s very delicious. We make a nice fish broth out of the tuna head. Just look up Caribbean fish broth or fish tea and you will find some amazing recipes. Thank me later 😉
You clearly dont know the money and skill that goes with this. A good captain isnt afraid to yell at the crew especially when a fish is on the line. All i saw here was a veteran trying to teach some valuable lessons and a crew that listens well. Maybe one day you will own a boat worth $1,000,000 and youll probably get seasick 😂
Awesome video! I love seeing harpoon boats in action.
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙌🏻

saya berumur 49 tahun tidak pernah ke laut, memancing pun tidak pernah tapi saya suka melihat rakaman seperti ini, video yang hebat
Great video!! I never knew they harpooned tuna like that…very cool.
Yeah it’s wild!
thanks for pointing out the balloon problem. I find the problem is at its worst around graduation time.
That makes sense. We found a few graduation balloons during this trip.
"they smelled a rat" aka I missed.

This is the start of Jaws.
A question is or have they got a quoter on Tuna catch To keep it a sustainable fishery for all And the future .A great video thanks .
Yes it’s strictly managed with quotas and other limits.
When I went 4 for 4 on tuna we got 4 balloons that day too people just don't get it
Thanks for picking up those balloons Daniel! 🙌🏻
We need to start hard regulating the tuna I feel they're over fished

Great video but I couldn’t be on the boat with that captain. I would have zero patience for that.
LOL, don’t jump to conclusions, Tyler was great! Sometimes the best thing you can do as a captain is bark orders. ✌🏻👍🏻😎🤙🏻

I've worked on a tuna boat before and that's nothing. Can't be fragile and do this kind work.
