A great run of giants on P.E.I. every late summer/early fall. They've done such a great job of managing the stocks, that there are 1000#'ers still plentiful and only a 20 minute run from the dock lol. It looked like a great trip, glad you could experience it and share it with us. Great episode, cheers.
Prince Edward Island? Lucky the Japs haven’t figured out a way to get there and decimate these stocks. These granders are worth over $50K each in Tokyo fish market.
We are now getting massive shoals of bluefin tuna off the SW coast of the UK, average sizes seem to be 200/500 lb, but there are definitely fish more than twice that size in amongst the smaller fish. Love seeing the massive shoals feeding, it's like an episode of blue planet some days, with bait balls erupting everywhere, truly amazing!
We released about a 600lber on Thur off New Jersey and about a 400lber last Tuesday. We got both on yellowfin gear. The big one took 6hrs on a Penn Squall 16 vs 😂. 40lb leader 😂😆😂. It was epic
Where’s the Proof pic videos ??we all know fisherman make up stories These days if there ain’t no Proof it ain’t true .😂 another fish tale,Now I’m Not calling you a lie errr so we get that straight and out the way
Awsome trip mate. Those big blues are awsome animals. They come into the Gulf of Mexico here off the texas coast in the summer to spawn. We have hooked and released a couple fishing for swords. Big differenc is we are In 2 or 3 thousand feet of water and they head straight down. We fought one for 23 hrs before release the other a much bigger fish was fought for 26 hrs before hook pulled. One or two are landed here on the Texas coast every yr.
@brettkuhn118 there are definitely a targetable species in nova Scotia and there abouts. Here in Texas they are acidental catches for the most part. Spawning in 3000 + feet of water changes the game. Usually results in long battles and dead fish.
I live on the west coast of Canada, Victoria BC on Vancouver Island. No Tuna on our side. Salmon and Halibut are the big game fish. I Wish we did have Tuna, however we have a much more temperate climate on the Pacific Ocean side
THANK GOD you came to the northeast. I would be deeply disapointed if you went to japan or california for tuna as it is a 1/10 of what it is on the east coast of NA
In North America we don't call them "giant blue fin tuna." We just call them blue fin tuna. Callig them "giant blue fin tuna" would be like calling the fire ant the "tiny fire ant," it is redundant.
It might be impolite but the guy has caught massive fish all round the world and run charters himself. Its not like hes a complete amateur. Hes caught bluefin half this size on handline so im sure the captain was ok with it.
Pretty sure chances are that many will die after release, the drowning starts once they are hooked, and by the time you get it alongside to release they are about atleast 75% dead. Sports fish are classified species that can handle catch and release, not tunas.
That’s an ignorant statement….the hooks dissolve in saltwater in just days….zero negative impacts, as they are designed to set in the corner of the fishes mouth, not deep where it could do damage. Go watch golf or tennis.
@@jayrobertson232 trust me I live in the islands boi I know these hooks dont dissolve like that. Just saying better to unhook it than to cutoff the line…
Can’t believe your finishing the show up 😢 Aussie love ya Matt ❤
Talk about a coordinated response! What a great team!😎
As a resident of Nova scotia i love seeing vids about our fishery. The biggest tuna on the planet are found here. Also lots of white sharks around
This is actually insane

I’ve heard about bluefin tuna off the Texas coast. It’s definitely on my bucket list and would love to catch one and release it.

I never herring so big before😊
Please visit Portland Jamaica for our annual blue marlin fishing tournament 💙
Brilliant tuna
❤ incredible
My largest yellowfin was under 100lbs and completely kicked my butt. Can’t imagine catching a fish that size.
Wicked 👌
Coolest fish in the ocean
Hahaha Dino … I know the guy who owns the boat … fishing at our wharf lol
Epic
Wow you lucky man ...
Amazing ! What time of year is absolute best for the giants?
Depends on where you are
I'm also am angler and a hunter, and I'm all for ethically and environmentally sound practices. Catch and release whenever possible. 👍
Always look after the bait fish stocks !!!
Sangat mantap ikannya besar
WOW!!!
Wow Ikan yang sangat besar
Matt’s wishing he was in his Stabicraft!!
No doubt! Man I want one so badly…
Is something wrong with the reel how are they popping of like that
First comment 💯💯

if you got the tuna feeling going to cape cod to do topwater bluefin up to 200kg is also very possible
⚓😎

We just call them blue fin tuna.
Callig them "giant blue fin tuna" would be like calling the fire ant the "tiny fire ant," it is redundant.
I couldn't get past him yelling at the captain and crew to "GO GO GO GO!" I probably would have taken him back and dropped him off at the dock.

@@michaelhall5429 With his experience I found it interesting he had never fished with the kite before.
I'm into management but one fish a yr a bit ridiculous,1 fish a trip is even tight
matt can i come fishing with you
Pei got bigger tuna
yo
How can you tell what sex the fish 🐟 is before you have landed it please My son would like to know he's studying thanks 😊
🇧🇷🐟🎣👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🐟🎣💪
Handfed pets
Too bad those herring you use for bait are in a steep decline not only up where you are they also are disappearing down in the gulf of Maine
I dont like this catch and release thing......catch and eat it, or let it be. Animals are not made for play, and yes, I am a Angler and Hunter!!
You are 100% right. They probably drift to the bottom and die.
Bluefin Tuna actually have a very high survival rate when released, even if they're bleeding to a considerable extent. They're very tough animals.
So what do you do when you catch an under size fish ?
There endothermic, basically there cook from inside from battle I read somewhere
I agree .
Catch and grease if its the correct size 🥘🍜🍽
you are real heit with yout inche.and lbs. who from new world undersand this seet. are u ok?
Dude talk too much can’t even get on one fish … and keep talking……😢
you talk way too much !.....just catch the damn fish! lol

Where is your marine biology degree from?
The guides do not want dead fish. This is a living for them.
Heavy gear and hard fighting brings them in quick.
This is sustainable fishing.
Your torturing the fish no good
What a team of loosers. Lost two big Tuna, bcause can`t make fishing knots or use not perfects materials
Now it gets to live with a hook it its mouth. Pretty sure it might die once it hinders its way to hunt and feed
