  • Hello! I mentioned this in a community post earlier this week, but I am currently in crochet-jail, no hooks allowed. But I already had all this footage ready to go, so I really hope some of you design your own big mumma dragons, and post them up and let me see! Just make sure you make them really slowly and take a break every 100 scales.
If you want to see more about Marigold, you can check out her video here:

    Hi everyone!
I understand a lot of people have had trouble with filling in the front panel of the body (R18 through to R32). My instructions could have been a lot clearer. If you need help with this section, try one of these two things:
    1) My original intention with this pattern is that from R20 to R31, when you work the "Dec3"/"sc3tog", one of the stitches is the SAME chain that you slst/ss into in the previous row.
    OR
    2) Replace R20 - R31 with this: 12sc, dec, slst into next sc of chain + turn.
Give those a go, feel free to report back here if it's still not working for you!

sorry to bother but I am still stuck on the belly part, I fill it in but I end up on the wrong side by the end of R31. are we meant to end up on the right side or the left? I always end up on the left side
nevermind i figured out what i was doing wrong 😂

I just finished my first dragon base today. He's getting decorated with scales that look like fall leaves, pumpkins, and pinecones, and I'll put him on display every fall. He's been a great project for eating up my yarn stash. I might even make some for friends.

Many patterns are just a lucky guess on what you're creating on the way because they mostly don't tell ya what part you're crocheting! Which probably could’ve been cool to use and see how it turned out but Ive already planned to use that yarn in a different project. I thought about using worsted since that’s mainly the only kind of yarn I use and is the bulk of what I have on hand but I didn’t want to have the size be off.

Funny story, i'm planning to make this dragon, instead of 4mm yarn ( dk/ 8ply ) like yours, im gonna make it with 0.4mm yarn 😂

I’d like to make a “scrap dragon”
Where I use all my yarn scraps as the scales! I think that would be so cool to make

This is amazing! 😮😍 I want to try making one at some point when I feel brave enough. May I ask how many skeins you used for all those scales? So I know how much to order in total. Thankyou❤

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH tysm for releasing the base dragon!! I'm so excited and I know it will be one of the big projects I'm planning to do over the summer!! Just a thought tho 🤔how long did this take you to film? I know that a "regular" one takes 4-6 hours so how long did this take? Much love🥰

I’m so excited about learning how to make this dragon, but I’m already lost on the first part, I know how to do the 6 stitches, but after that I’m not knowing how to do the increases

Hi, I am glad you showed us how you made Marigold. One simple basic question. Did you clip the backs on her eyes and when? Thank you for all your time.

I do, after I've made both the head and the face mask. The face helps you line em up correctly.

First off, thank you for showing us how to make this amazing dragon! I recently started working on mine but I've been running into a little problem: my base oval starts to curl up and just doesn't want to stay flat. I know it could be a tension issue but I redid this piece a couple of times now with only a little improvement :( Does anyone have an idea what else could be causing this to happen? I'm using Hobbii Friends 8/8 and a 3.5mm hook, if that's of any help :)

Hi, whenever I go to row 33, I can't do 14 sc across the openings as I don't have 14 sc spaces, the last time I did it I only had 7 sc across the opening.

LOL It took my kids 58 minutes to see what I'm watching. Within .1 seconds of noticing, however, I was asked "Can you make one for us?" Guess I"ll be buying yellow and orange yarn as those are the requested colors.
