    Just subscribed. I heard you say you are from the St. Louis area. I just bought my 97 Goldwing and I'm looking for a mechanic to help fix issues with the bike. I am not a mechanic and really could use some help. Do you work on other people's motorcycles? Or do you have someone you could recomend? Thank you for any help you can give me.

      I had to jump over to carpentry work to get a bunch of necessary work done that I waited way too long to start on, it will be at least another year or two before I can go back to mechanic work on the side. Sometimes I do a quick simple job if I know exactly what it is and I can squeeze it in on a weekend. I still drive a truck every on my day job.

    Did you have any issues with your cruise control after changing to LED? Some people have experienced problems with the cruise because it uses ground from the bulb filament, so they have to install 1-ohm power resisters. For the saddlebags, I took the lighted panels (like yours), ripped out all the electrical, and simply put in new backing and LED strips. It gives a nicer, more continuous look.

    • @57bagre
      @57bagre  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      My cruise is working fine. The only thing I found new is the turn signal cancel stopped working, I have to pull the switch past center almost to the other turn signal side to cancel. I don't know if it's related to the LEDs or just coincidence. I might look into that another time, it's no big deal to slide the button a little instead of just pushing it. Thanks for watching.

    • @waltwise2456
      @waltwise2456 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s because you used a 2 wire relay. The GL1500 needs a 3 wire relay like the original…

    Hello Gordon beauty full jobs my Question did you know exactly how many 1157,1156, 74,194, and leds relays you needed total to do the hole bike. Thanks in advance.to get back to me.

    • @57bagre
      @57bagre  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That depends on how many custom lights are added on. The basic stock won't have as many as mine.

      @mrhonda7680 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gordon Robertson ok but if I do like you did, do I need 4 Flasher relays like you show when you begin your video, after small bulb beside head light witch # is that, if you have the total of ? X 1157 color, ? X 1156 color ? X 74 color, ? X 194 color,
      Thanks for your precious help keep up the good work

    • @57bagre
      @57bagre  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The small bulbs on the sides of the headlight and the licence plate are 194, 2 flashers not 4. Maybe you need to take your bulbs out to count them and see which ones they are, I don't remember the exact number of them, I could watch the videos again and count them or you can do that yourself.

      I don't remember the exact one but it is a LED replacement for a 194 original bulb. You can find a hundred choices on Amazon or at the local auto parts store.

    I want these lights for mine, what a difference! Also, this video shows 5-slots, each with adjustable nut for 5-bolt windshield! Mine windshield was damaged from wiper install! I made exact pattern of bottom of windshield an made new bottom by transferring pattern to new line above square vent cutout. But I only slotted two outside mounting holes. After mounting shield with 2 outside mounting bolts, I pressed down shield to lowest position in outside bolt adjustments. Then I centered drill bit on 3- inside shield mounting bolts. Mounted all 5 bolts with stainless flat washers an large rubber washers against shield! (Reason all 5 holes are slotted is for production, all five stamped out at once! But if new bottom made stronger by just drilling out center 3 bolt holes saving time)

    Hi Gordon, I noticed when I installed the side-marker light flasher kit (99' GL1500 CycleMax), my cigarette lighter charger (left pocket) if sitting on the bike LED light flashes when I turn on the my hazard lights which interrupts the charging of my phone when connected via USB to the adapter. Is it because the positive (red) wire is spliced and connected the positive wire for marker LED light? Or is it the ground wire which is spliced and connected to the marker LED ground wire?

    • @57bagre
      @57bagre  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would have to look the thing over to be sure what's going on there but I know if you have the lighter connected to the battery (with 10 amp fuse) or the spare ignition terminal in the fuse box (on any vehicle, boat, bike car truck etc.) the add-on accessories will not effect the accessory on the battery or fuse box. Good luck. Thanks for watching.

      @@carboncopych4616 No I don't. I'm not a bike mechanic, I was a car mechanic many years ago and I just use the theory I learned 40 plus years ago to troubleshoot any electric problems on any vehicle or machine I find myself needing to fix. I found a pfd schematic on the gl1500 electric and downloaded it free but have no idea where it is now in my hard drives, I think I found it in goldwingdocs.com or something like that. Sorry I can't look for that now, too busy.
