Best line for the money on the planet
I agree
Awesome video doing a little dragging and planer boards tonight
Thank you. Good luck to you.
That bead is a great idea. 😁
Yeah it is. Been working great since I started using it.
Thanks for taking the time to show us your gear. I am new to catfish, but have found that the Big Game line is an excellent value. It all I use in heavy line now. I can't tell you how it works on 100 pound cats but it does very well on logs and rocks.
Lol good deal. Yeah I'm all about simple and saving a dollar. But also not giving up quality.
Always pick up a nugget in your videos. Thank you! Tight lines
@@michaelcatoe7462 thank you. I appreciate that.
Great info, we don't do much dragging up here but I still love to see how and why people use what they do.
@@3RiversFishingAdventures thank you
Check out crimp protectors. They cover / protect part of the swivel, the knot, and a couple of inches of line. They also help keep braided line from wrapping around the swivel.
OK awesome. I'll definitely look into that. Thank you
Great information and video
Thank you
Great video brother. Very informational.
Thank you
Helpful again! I will probably wait until after the Holiday to venture back out again. I am supposed to do a Kayak float for Cats on the 5th, but the river is less than 2 feet where we planned to go.
@@DaleWyman thank you. I hope you can get out get on em.
You might try out braid on your dragging set up. With the amount of line you have out, I have found the lack of stretch from braid increased hook up ratio. Reaction Tackle Braid is very affordable.
I first started out using braid and I lost alot of fish using it. Course I've learned alot since then. I may give it another shot.
@@mickaburkhart14 Interesting! Look forward to seeing your next video! Thanks!
@@RiverJunkie he need not change anything. Dude catches huge fish consistently and has current state record. He good! Lol
Can you go over your down rod set up? Down rod bite is my favorite I do this with 6/8 rods sometimes, varying the depth sometimes when I’m on a ledge or transition area.
@@user-wg7tk7hq1n yeah I can definitely do that in the future.
The 3 inch float well float more weight than u think.
Yeah it does but sometimes I'll put on bigger baits that they struggle with.
Thank you for putting out this great info for us to explore and to adapt it to our fishing. Be blessed. My friend.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
Can you show how you tie your hooks
Do you catch more catfish dragging, sitting, or drifting?
@@chriswalls5831 I definitely catch more fish dragging when I can do it.
People forget berkley had a million dollar for record fish caught on the there line just think Micka youd be 2 time winner 😊
@@user-xj1du8qq5r lol I know right.
Any particular reason other than cost you use mono instead of braid ?
@@1squirreldog the way I like to fish I need the stretch that mono gives me. I used braid for a bit but lost alot of fish. But it was definitely just me. I know alot of people that use braid with great success.
Thanks micka
I'm going to increase my weights from 3 oz to 5 oz or more mabe that's part of the problem I'm having
Also do you mainly drag up current or with ?
Please keep up the great videos
@@jimnanney6264 I always drag against the current. But yeah making sure your weight is in contact with the bottom is a big help.
@mickaburkhart14
Thanks you are a huge help
I was dragging with current having a time slowing boat
Thinking fish would be looking for bait as current swept it by. (drifting)
Didn't think about them swimming up current
To get it would be more natural
With your help maybe this red nex fan will get where I can catch a few dinks lol
@@jimnanney6264 lol. Going against the current is way better for boat control and if you use planer boards it will help keep them spread out.
What action rods do you run when dragging??
I use the medium heavy.
Do you ever suspend off the spread em boards? I reverse suspend on the Mississippi some and use off shore boards to suspend 16oz weights. Wanted to try the Spread Em boards but hate to order them if they won’t suspend that much weight.
I have never done that but I think he said they hold that much weight. But I do know he makes boards that have a thicker foam for just that way of fishing.
@@mickaburkhart14 oh ok, I’m gonna look into them for sure! Appreciate it
@@katdaddyking970 absolutely no problem
What is a slinky style weight?
If you go to like carolina lake weights website you can see them. I should have had one for the video but they were all in the boat and I forgot to grab one.
I'm a braid to Berkeley big game leader 😊 alot of people just want something that's colorful lol
@@hunter5858 lol yeah that's true.
