Well Done Micka. Your fish would win all of the tournaments over here at Watts Bar. I've had the worst start to a season ever, nothing over 30. Past few years, way too many people keeping fish, even the big ones. Jugs everywhere. :( Good to see you catching some dandy cats.

I have to agree with you.
I have noticed the exact same issues on Wheeler Reservoir.
I haven't been able to go out at all this year due to back surgery, but the last few years I have noticed a large increase in jugs (especially lost or abandoned jugs) and way more guys showing off the 30-50lb fish at the ramp.
Forget any other issue, I just don't think catfish over about 10lb taste anywhere near as good as the smaller ones, not to mention how many chemicals those bigger fish have had time to build up in there systems.

cool catches bro, I clicked on your link for the hooks you use, are they same hooks your using in this video... "Catfish Hybrid Circle Hooks | TripleThreat" ? ? If, so what size you using 8/0 or 10/0 ? also when i buy these should i use the snell knot ? i fish on the bank with rods in rod holders and what I do is when the rod bends down for a bite i just lift up fast and start reeling if thats the right way.... also we use cut pieces of eels and do good on blues
I think he runs the 10/0. They are good hooks.
Thank you. Yep the exact hooks I use. I get them in the 10/0. Seems to be the perfect size for me. But you can definitely play with the 8/0 and see which is best for you. Yes a snell knot is going to be the ticket. How you set the hook sounds like it's a perfect technique. The great thing about them hooks you can yank them, reel down or slowly pull back on em.
