1 second into the vid and I'm already being called out. 😭 I'm definitely going to incorporate these habits into my daily routine. Also, I gotta say that I love your sense of humour and I find myself cracking up every time. Your videos bring me joy.
I am 41 years old also. I will be 42 soon. Ever since I started having kids 13 years ago (I have 4), I noticed a significant and gradual decline in my health. To the point that no fitness instructor or doctor has been able to help me feel better. About 3-4 months, something inside of me knew that this didn’t need to be my life and I implemented these changes in your video (on my own). People definitely think I’m weird but I feel the best I’ve felt in years.
My grandson is going to love this video because of the lunges to/from the mailbox! I’m so happy your channel is growing so fast and I am learning a lot from you. I turned 65 in February and I don’t feel that old! I’ve been on a program since late March to stop taking diabete meds. I ha to daily log: meals, exercise, and weight, and weekly bp. I have a tracker to measure sleep, stress, steps, heart rate, etc. I’ve lost 35 pounds and weigh the same when I was 30!! I’m off of 4.5 meds and am taking 1/2 diabetic med. it’s affecting every area of my life and I’m plowing through procrastinated (is that even a word? 😂It is now!!!) projects; cleaning, decluttering, and organizing continually; making nutritious meals; exercising more consistently; spending more time with God and others! I want to be healthy so I can spend as much time as possible with my family and friends!!! 😊❤😊
I am so glad to hear this Michele! It’s amazing what can be reversed with some small incremental changes!! Your story is a prime example! Keep it up Michele, here’s to maximum sprightliness!!! ♥️♥️
I definitely do some of these already! A couple other things I do is single leg balance or calf raises while I brush my teeth. You're usually just standing there anyway. And since I have an electric toothbrush that vibrates every 30 seconds, I can also use that as a timer to switch legs. And in my kitchen, all my most commonly used items like utensils and plates are in the bottom drawer closest to the floor so I squat every time I need to get something. Easy ways to get more movement without adding extra time! I always love your energy in your videos. Also, my previous physical therapist told me that people who are more flexible tend to have bones/joints that crack more, so it's not necessarily a bad thing!
Thanks so much for sharing these tips! I can def add the tooth brushing stuff!! And thanks about the bone crack, thought my leg was gonna fall off, that would have been bad for the message of the video lol
I'm going to start incorporating wall sitting while brushing my teeth or waiting for my green tea to brew, as well as taking a 30 minute walk every morning. That should get me on my way to becoming more sprightly! Thanks for your videos and your inspiration. 😁
Motion is lotion! And stacking some daily habits work really well too. I’m a coffee drinker so it’s nice to enjoy a cup of coffee on a morning walk. Means I can still have my coffee time and do an early sunlight wake up.
Motion is lotion I love it!! And that’s cool that you are able to habit stack like that!! Maybe I should take my matcha on my morning walk too hahahahha!
Your videos always make me laugh. I love the tips of taking care of your body in little ways all throughout the day. Thankfully my job entails lots of squatting and getting up from the floor etc. I’m definitely going to start doing wall squats. I want awesome quads lol. Looking forward to your next video and hoping to get a floor futon soon after I move. 🙌
I admire your ability to be sprightly and doing everything you can to protect yourself from all the aches and pains of getting older. I wish, I would have paid more attention when I was younger. I never did get on the exercise band wagon. I did go through the walking to stay fit phase, on and off for a few years and it did work. Once I got older and after a few injuries, I developed mobility issues. My exercise days are no more. I do like coffee and have to start my day with a cup. I didn't forget about sending you photos. Stuff just keeps attacking me. 2 weeks ago, the electric company cut down some of my trees, in my yard. Yes, there was a bad storm and a pole fell down and knocked out power for a few neighbors. But they didn't need to butcher trees well into my side of the property line. I've been filing complaints with various departments, very time consuming and stressful. Those photos will be added on also. Thanks for being patient and understanding!
Tasha, you are SO entertaining! ❤ I love the Olympic Rings and the trapped turtle! 🤣🤣🤣 My hubby and I biked 12 miles today and it was just so gorgeous outside in the woods! You inspire me. ❤
Love this and great ideas to stay young. When my kid was smaller I did enjoy playing, acting, seeing the world through a childs eyes. Now that I am at my more mature age 29 aka 53 I too feel the need to stay more active so i can at least not only avoid assisted living but, also be able to walk without assistance as well. Plus with my age not only do I not care what people say about me but, i also will no longer take shitake from certain people as well. I have patience but, it does wear thin when pushed as with us all.
GREAT video!!! Oh my goodness! Though I am a slug at keeping to my daily walk "commitment," I do squats as the coffee is brewing. . ha ha ha ha ha!! Gonna go flex now. 🤣
You are so beautiful and inspiring! I move like you around my home. I walk the dog for houres, I sit on the floore and work, I don´t sleep on the floor because my husband wants the bed. But it´s ok. I am thinking of getting the rings though.... I take the stairs when I can because my job keeps me in the car alot. My body is fine, not alot of skweeking. And I am 63.
@@natashatheresa I love your energy on this channel and the things you’re sharing! I think squats in particular help with longevity especially considering falls are one of the old age life wreckers.
@@robinwright531 Yes i totally agree! I see it in the elderly around me... it gets harder and harder for them to even just have decent balance, or to come up from a sitting position. I know that once you fall, your risk of mortality goes up significantly thereafter
Love you Natasha! Can we be friends??!! Love your videos - so funny and love the way you don't take yourself too seriously! We've been sleeping on the floor as a family for 3 years now and we won't ever go back. Going to get hanging rings soon as I just realised that I can hang (no pull-ups yet though!). Looking forward to your next video 😀
@@natashatheresa I feel bad saying it! It's not that I don't care about people's problems/health struggles. Of course I do. But when that's the only thing or main thing you talk about, it does get tiresome. And then it only gets worse the older you get. I'm 56 and thought it was just my parents' age people. I figured I had some time yet before my peers were all doing that. Then I learned it IS my peer group. And even younger. I don't want to be a boring/gloomy grownup/older person. I want to be like you. And that's why I love hanging around kids and younger people!
@@Yesica1993 yeah it’s a shame bc I feel like there’s this whole societal norm that when you get past a certain age, poor health is to be expected. And it’s not preventable, there’s just nothing to be done but accept it. Then you want to commiserate with other people who have similar problems. But barring certain medical situations, there are a lot of things that can be done, however, whatever we have done over the years compounds and if we haven’t paid attention, suddenly we are in a bad spot and we are like? How did that happen? It’s all about living intentionally and not living on autopilot. I love that we can talk about this!!
