100% agree that these types of robots will be used on automated construction sites in the future, probably in tandem with concrete 3D printers. Great research! I had no idea there were so many.

Recently disabled mechanical engineer here. I don’t think most able bodied people realize how much of a game changer a robot helper could be to the disabled and elderly. The only reason the Chinese are interested in the application is because they have more elderly people than young people can handle. I never thought about this application either until an autoimmune disorder paralyzed me. Unfortunately untrained family members are ill equipped to take care of a disabled relative alone with limited help from a social safety net. A robot that could assist in moving and/or other tasks specified by the patient and/or caretaker would be huge!

Would also be interested to get something at the end of a kids like this that might give summary of what are the estimated most expensive and least expensive robots coming, a few companies have released what they think their bots might cost at mass production stage.
This will give us an idea of competitive pricing and we may be getting in 5 years or so. I'm definitely starting to save for a bot , will be more useful then a car to me.

Regarding the GR-1....Elder Care can become prohibitively expensive. Assisted Facilities are incredibly expensive and Medicare and Medicaid are not as easy to attain as one might expect. Plus they deplete family assets . The idea of a robot that can keep a family member at home, safe and cared for. Human home care is $15+ an hr. Which is not affordable for most. So although I understand the desire to prefer human interaction over robots. Allot of care is more impersonal that one might expect?

Humanoid Robots prior to the rise of AI were basically useless toys. Interesting in concept but not commercially viable due to lack of autotomy. With AI, humanoid robots are now so astonishingly practical everyone is making them as you've already noticed. The interesting thing is that now that there is a point in doing it, robotics tech is also advancing in leaps and bounds.

Great video. From what I can tell coming from a marketing background I’m reasonably sure that probably about 75% of the videos in companies are basically just using CGI. Basically anyone could do a robot company with a little CGI magic. Kind of sad. However, some do seem to have at least a semi-legitimate robot being developed so there is hope.

I really hope that we get real world functioning humanoid robots in the near future. My question is though, why can't these robot/tech companies mimic the human body. Is it really that hard? They are trying to re-invent something nature already perfected. The engineering of the human body, how flexible and soft it is, is just amazing. The movie terminato got it right with the human endoskeleton. Just copy the bone structure in our bodies, muscles, etc. I also mentioned it being soft. I think having a robot that is soft as a human is also very important. Being soft makes it much more versatile, able to do things, fit into places that a hard robot would not be able to do. Again, the movie terminator got it right. I think once they get the skeleton correct, wrap it around with a soft human like thing, or silicone or whatever.

The notion that humans always strive to do their best is noble, yet it is essential to acknowledge that mistakes and lapses in focus are inherent to our nature. This acceptance of human imperfection is a cornerstone of our shared humanity, fostering empathy and understanding in our interactions. Unlike humans, who require rest and are subject to emotional and physical fatigue, AI robots possess the capacity for continuous operation without the need for sleep or breaks. This ceaseless availability allows them to provide consistent care and support, filling gaps where human limitations may fall short.
An AI robot's infinite patience and nonjudgmental nature make it an ideal companion for those needing constant care, such as the elderly or individuals with disabilities. While a mother, despite her love and dedication, must rest and may become overwhelmed, a robot can tirelessly assist with tasks like cleaning and personal care without hesitation or fatigue. These robots do not experience discomfort or embarrassment, and they can manage even the most challenging situations, such as cleaning up after accidents, with unwavering efficiency and composure. This technological aid enhances the quality of care, allowing humans to provide emotional support and companionship while the robots handle the more demanding physical tasks.
Spending time in a hospital provides a real sense of how difficult it is to care for the old, sick, and dying. The demands on caregivers are immense, often leading to burnout and stress. In such settings, the support of AI robots can be invaluable, offering consistent care and relieving some of the burdens from human caregivers. This enables a more humane and efficient healthcare environment where both patients and caregivers can experience improved well-being.

Honestly a UBI will not come until normal people start protesting about it for obvious reasons and even then it could be 10 years in the making meaning most people will be on hard times before the dawn of UBI and even before that I suspect they'll try to go to a 4 shift work week 6 hours a day 5 days out of the week will be considered full time with anything over 32 hours being overtime. why because these robots have to be trained to do a job so what this means is something like this first Manufacturing jobs go up with driving jobs probably by 2035 then I think a 4 shift work week will come into play as robots get ready to replace people in Construction work and fast food witch will more than likely take another 10 years say about 2045 so say about 2050 most jobs will be gone as we know them today the only ones that will be left is management jobs and maintenance jobs and with the advances in longevity escape velocity there is a chance most of us will be as healthy as what we where in are 20s with death from old age becoming less and less common as time goes on if we are lucky if not we could just solve things like Alzheimer's and a few minor diseases but I think it will be way more than that by 2050s it should be full cellular restoration thanks to ASI mixed with Quantum Computing and a little bit of classical computing also if nothing else we will more than likely see a population boom from people having so much free time and not having to work around the clock to make ends meet. its a running Theory of how things could go but in the USA this change. we will be fighting tooth and nail even for the less work time to make more jobs for most people to make income it will be a fight to get it past in states or federal law the short of it is unless your in a state where work is dirt cheap most states will be having a hard time finding jobs for normal people to do some time in the next 11 years. there is a chance we could go with a UBI early and boost the economy to create jobs in the service sector things like fast food and malls and grocery stores but all that would really do is drive the cost of goods through the roof know one is going to make goods for the UBI no job community so really the only way in the short term is to go to a 4 shift work week.

Do you think that in 2035 with the advent of AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) and ASI (Super Artificial Intelligence) they will introduce universal basic income!? a subsidy!? there will be free will!? an era of abundance will begin!? the intellectual and motor capabilities of robots have already surpassed the average human and before 2035 there is talk of them surpassing those of any human and then again those of any human combined! regarding both body and mind! answer me please...

probably, if technological development is so fast, UBI will be the only concrete solution; It certainly won't be easy to accomplish.
furthermore the UBI itself will not be so free as it will be tied to the individual's behaviors/actions (for example: you behave in a certain way, since you are tracked 24/7 it is easy to control, then you don't deserve the UBI. .. one proof was the health pass, if you didn't have it you couldn't do/enter/travel,...)

As for ubi, why should welfare go to ppl who already have wealth? When we can simply embrace the welfare state and progressive taxation to pay for services and benefits?. Why are we not taxing the owners of automation via corperstion tax or a Robin Hood tax to pay for it?? Why is the excess death rate climbing in tandem with the rise of automation?

Jarrett…. You are young… and with respect, ignorant in some areas.
Please. Consider taking down this video just long enough to remove the section that includes ‘we need workers, not robot friends’.
It’s dismissive of the traumatising and exhausting ordeal that millions of people like me go through caring for someone we love… be it a parent, a spouse, a child… we have to watch our loved one slowly slip away and become less and less capable.
Remove the offending section. It is utterly needless and does only two things: upset a bunch of people who don’t need or deserve it… and it puts you in a rather poor light.

I’m ignorant in many areas but part of having a TH-cam chancel is sometimes having that ignorance on display. Your comment is appreciated, it adds relevant perspective to the discussion.

@@automateconstruction… I applaud that you accept that you might be ignorant… but here’s the thing. I’ll spare you the details… but I’d just been dealing with a necessary but embarrassing issue… I was greatly enjoying your summary of the wide range of participants… few realise just how many companies are on the cusp of human form robots swamping the market… then you made your comment… My elderly, frail mum had been horribly mortified that she needed my help for a fundamental basic thing… and you minimise it and equate it to a little robotic pet or playmate. It really pissed me off.
Edit the sentence. This video is not the place for that kind of conversation. If you want to explore the issue, then by all means do so. Produce a video on robots for home care, palliative care, as assistants for people with disabilities. Rather than be ignorant on the issue… find out why having robots NOW is critical because of our aging population.

    bro this video is awful.
the voice actor has a bad mic and can barely pronounce words. i would have ask for a refund if i hired a voice actor and this is the work they deliver.
also the scrip is obviously written by chat gpt.
    0/10

I’m just a guy making videos not a voice actor, maybe I’ll take some classes. I don’t use scripts, just lots of research in advance to about the things I’ve learned. I appreciate the constructive criticism!

oh damn dude im sorry, i thought this video was made by one of those soulless content farms...
if this video was made by just one person who is passionate about what they talk about instead of a soulless organization trying to put as much content as possible as fast as possible then I apologize for being so harsh.

no worries don’t sweat it I appreciate every comment, all engagement is good for the TH-cam algorithm anyway. Check out some of my other videos, most are vlogs shot on location at different cutting edge construction projects around the world.
