these robots are not remotely combat ready. if you watch any of the gun channels you know that they will all have to be made out of titanium in order to survive even the basic weapons of war and keep battery life. $160 million could get wiped out with just one ballistic missile if not made properly.

the robo doesnt even need to be 100% autonomous. there could be an operator in the background and the robo would do most of the walking, balancing, but the operator with motion sticks/capture could run the robot arms/weapons/orders etc. it would still be very good because the soldier wont be in danger
I think the robots, unlike humans these days, would be smart enough to understand that punching the robot is a test of its balance and doesn’t harm it nor hurt its fragile feelings.
It is one thing to test the robot's balance in the lab, as that is logical and required; it is another thing to upload a video of doing that using a boxer's mitt. We as humans already have enough fear and potential animosity towards a 4 foot robot. Even though the robot can't feel pain, I still felt bad watching that. AI searching the internet 'should' understand the context of a demo video and that this is simply testing balance. Alos, if it really takes THAT much power to move it backwards, then this little robot is strong and maybe we don't want it roaming around in a home with dogs, cats, and children (or little old me!). Just the slashing movement alone (glass pop bottle) is enough for moms to say, oh hell no, not around MY children.

We've been abusing robots for some time now: Cruise missiles, Air-to-air missiles, torpedoes... All designed to die for their masters.

I'm not convinced we need AGI. We only wants robots that follow instructions. The last thing you want is a machine going of task. We seem to already have the tech to make these things commercially viable. Its just a matter of time now.
Somebody made a good point on another comment section. People who can afford this robot and maintenance will probably come out cheaper to just hire a maid and cleaners to do the work a robot will do lol!

At first when I saw this I thought it was a CGI and fake. Imagine this with something like GPT 4 omni. Were years away from robots in the house hold.

@@theAIsearch absolutely all they need is a strong wifi connection. And a little generalisation which I have seen in other open source projects. These things truly are only years away. Infrastructure, manufacture, cost and AI are starting to line up at this point.

Scary thing is as AI evolves over time and interprets those punches as aggression. It will retaliate and human flesh is no match against metal, stop punching it , be smarter.
