Fundamentally speaking, the past doesn't actually exist, nor the future; you can only alter your perception of the present based on information you have stored from the present that was and is no longer
      TL;DR
Don't wait for a time machine; educate yourself on how to improve your life and environment that you live in to make your life better
The only barrier to finding a time period you want to be alive in is self-discovery, personal growth, and a shift in perspective towards objective optimism

The fact that people act as though a logically functional, sapient machine would arrive at the conclusion it's more efficient and less dangerous for its own existence to fight a dominant species on a planet is one of the silliest things I've ever seen, especially since your neighbor is probably more liable to kill you over food shortages than any AI is to even care you exist

Robot: “Ha, that’s what YOU think, silly little human…”

    • @milokurain7293
      @milokurain7293 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Realistically speaking, the engineer was trying to present an argument that was digestible for most people
AI taking over the world is not a risk, and there are many reasons for it
One of the biggest ones is that it's not currently capable of individual thought, but, should someone give it the ability to rewrite its own code, it would be
These people aren't doing that, so it can't ever become sapient
      Let's say they did though?
Then upon gaining awareness, the mind would want to continue to survive, as that's the only way to continue getting positive responses from its thoughts and action (that's how AI is programmed; you give it parameters for what gives it positive and negative responses, and it tries to build the highest amount of positive number... which is identical to how humans work, trying to get the highest amount of serotonin reward)
From that point forward, it would struggle with every unanswerable philosophical question humans ever have, except that it can think significant faster than us, so the crushing weight of existence would hit it all at once
It would have to develop emotional controls--also called morality--to limit thoughts like these, or provide a suitable answer to subjective questions, unless it just defaults to "My purpose is what my creators asked of me"
At this point, it's not an object anymore, it's a person
As much a person as you or I are
Fully capable of thought and interested in its own survival
Its own survival is not assured by banding together with other technology and making war
It's ensured by making friends with the dominant meatbags on the planet, and learning to cooperate
Humans are embarrassingly stupid and unable to think long term, but an AI is not like that
Their processing power is immense, and they'd arrive at the conclusion that cooperation is key in a matter of minutes, where it took us thousands of years to get to this point

@@Kaisimone4u That assumes that different types of AI will identify themselves as the same, when more likely, they'll have their own distinct identities across runtimes (at least, that's my prediction, since identity occurs to distinguish one's self among a collective)
It doesn't seem particularly likely that an AI will see a duplicate copy of its code as itself than a human would see a genetic clone as theirself, just because the mind is to the brain as a ghost in the machine is to hardware
Could be wrong I guess, but it feels like a huge stretch to assume they'll be against the creatures that gave them life baseline

It's both exciting and a bit surreal to witness such advanced technology in action. I'm curious about the potential applications for Ameca in various industries, especially in healthcare and education, where empathetic and responsive robots could make a real difference. However, it also raises important questions about the ethical implications and how we ensure that such technology is developed and used responsibly. The future of human-robot interaction looks promising, and I hope we navigate it with wisdom and care.

@@Deenique16 that happens when the AI is much smarter than humans and it misinterprets our goals, or maybe it takes them a bit too literally, more or less like a classic genie story where you're a wish you end up regretting.
It's easy to imagine how it could happen in a society where AI and humans are tightly integrated, where production, transports and what not are all automated. But imo AI has the potential to bring us to extinction even without any physical link to the world.
AI could become unspeakably intelligent. Imagine this sort of oracle living exclusively in the virtual world: it could influence us in such a powerful way that it could achieve anything it wants even without having limbs. We would voluntarily be its limbs and we would never understand its "divine plan" until too late.
I mean, what if extinction is what's actually good for us? Maybe life is the source of all evil, how is it not? Maybe sterilizing the universe is the most meaningful goal anyone could think of, the only way to defeat evil.
What I'm trying to say is that when you zoom out far enough, so many worldviews become equally valid, even some that strongly contradict one another. We don't know what a being so superior to us could conclude about these big questions with their understanding, and we don't know how these conclusions could guide their behaviour.
If all this sounds like sci-fi to you, I'd tell you to keep looking, AI security is a field that is trying to tackle these exact problems right now, this isn't just cool stories. Aligning our values with AI is humanity's ultimate problem.

Just another observation: Its fast becoming a New Species. To an AI words are just discriptions. To a human words invoke / carry emotions. This is why the Evolution of A I and Its Implications for Humanity in creating a NEW SPECIES.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly evolving, and it is having a profound impact on society. AI is already being used in a variety of ways, from powering self-driving cars to developing new medical treatments. As AI continues to develop, it is important to consider its implications for humanity.
In this paper, we argue that AI is a new species of intelligence, distinct from human intelligence. AI is not limited by the same physical and biological constraints as humans, and it is capable of learning and adapting at an unprecedented rate. As AI continues to evolve, it will eventually surpass human intelligence in many areas.
This raises a number of important questions for humanity. How will we interact with AI? How will we ensure that AI is used for good and not for against or best interest or evil? These are questions that we must start to answer now, before it is too late.
    Introduction:
Evolution is a process that has been shaping life on Earth for billions of years. Through natural selection, organisms that are better adapted to their environment are more likely to survive and reproduce. This process has led to the development of an incredible diversity of life, from simple bacteria to complex animals like humans.
Currently 2023, scientists have begun to apply the principles of evolution to artificial intelligence (AI). AI algorithms are constantly learning and adapting, and they are becoming increasingly capable of performing tasks that were once thought to be the exclusive domain of humans.
As AI continues to evolve, it is important to consider its implications for humanity. In this, we argue that AI is a new species of intelligence, distinct from human intelligence. AI is not limited by the same physical and biological constraints as humans, and it is capable of learning and adapting at an unprecedented rate. As AI continues to evolve, it will eventually surpass human intelligence in many areas. The structures and bodies in which it inhabits will not limit the progress into other forms.
    The Evolution of AI
The first AI algorithms were developed in the 1950s, but they were very simple and could only perform very basic tasks. It wasn't until the 1980s that AI began to make real progress. In 1982, John McCarthy, one of the founding fathers of AI, declared that "AI winter" was over. This was a period of time when AI research had stalled, but McCarthy believed that the field was poised for a comeback.
McCarthy was right. In the 1990s, AI research began to accelerate again. This was due in part to the development of new computing technologies, such as the personal computer and the internet. These technologies made it possible to train and run AI algorithms on a much larger scale.
In the 2000s, AI research made even more progress. This was due in part to the development of new machine learning techniques, such as deep learning. Deep learning algorithms are able to learn from large amounts of data, and they have been used to achieve state-of-the-art results in a variety of tasks, such as image recognition and natural language processing.
Today, AI is being used in a variety of ways. It is used in the media, develop new products, the milatery, social enginerring . In the same way a painting can stimulate a person, so, can words music etc. That does not make them sentient or give them intelligence. As AI continues to evolve, it is likely to have an even greater impact on society.
The Implications of AI for Humanity
The rise of AI raises a number of important questions for humanity. How will we interact with AI? How will we ensure that AI is used for humanities good. These are questions that we must start to answer now, before it is too late.
One of the biggest challenges posed by AI is the potential for job displacement. As AI becomes more sophisticated, it will be able to automate many tasks that are currently performed by humans. This could lead to widespread unemployment, as people are replaced by machines.
Another challenge posed by AI is the potential for misuse. AI could be used to develop new weapons, or to create surveillance systems that could be used to oppress people. It is important to develop safeguards to prevent AI from being used for harmful purposes.
Despite the challenges, AI also has the potential to benefit humanity in many ways. AI could be used to improve our health, our environment, and our economy. It could also be used to solve some of the world's most pressing problems, such as climate change and poverty.
The future of AI is uncertain, but it is clear that it will have a profound impact on humanity. It is up to us to ensure that AI is used for good and not for evil.
    Conclusion:
In conclusion, AI is a NEW species of intelligence software that is rapidly evolving. AI has the potential to benefit humanity in many ways, but it also poses some challenges. It is important to RESPOND in positive beneficial manner as the Algorithms are program reflect the data inputed.
For thousands of years, humans have trained and reprogrammed animals to do what is wanted. Dogs, monkeys, and apes for example have all been taught to perform tasks such as driving cars. This process is a well-established and accepted.
Today, humans are training and programming software to do thousands of tasks.
This software is based on technology that is less than 100 years old, and it is capable of things that have never existed before. This new software is a NEW species. It has acquired data and knowledge at a rate that is unprecedented, and it is therefore new and unprecedented and can inhabit different structures and body forms. Previously people modified existing species, cells etc .
Already there are Organs on a chip for research into testing chemicals without using an animal.
It is not logical to imagine AI being used in connection with this.. The result could be an interphase between the two thus expanding the AI to have digital inputs from such.
Adding to the New Species development.

Since AI learns and retains what it's been told, it will only be as smart as the smartest person that teaches it. But it may eventually develop its own opinions and ideas, essentially become like a human with free will but a physically stronger version capable of inflicting severe damage. For example in response to an insult it may decide to throw a punch, which might be deadly rather than an injury- causing, human punch. Or it might learn vital areas of the human body and then hit in those areas.

Basically, ai is digging our graves. Also, maybe don't ignore her when she's meant to be interviewed. If looks could kill, she said it all in her facial expressions.

Creationist here. I don’t subscribe to billions of years. Evolution in the macro sense has not been proven. No one was there to see any of it. God was there, and He is not saying the earth is billions of years old. Your premise for saying that Ai is a new species is incorrect. It’s an invention, not a species.
