But all in all, record labels might be too scared to take the chance since it don't help the original version on the charts any more.

You are one hundred percent right. My daughters who are ten and eleven years old were listening to a Mariah Christmas song earlier today and had no idea how popular she was. I told them they should download some of Mariah's old music and listen to one of the nest female singers of all time. Mariah was definitely a remix pioneer and Missy Elliott, Da Brat, Jermaine Dupri, Jay-Z and countless others should thank her everyday for the mainstream exposure.
God Mariah's musicality and versatility are unmatched. Different tone in every era, so much creativity and so many different vocal styles and genres in her discography. It almost makes you wonder how it's possible that only one voice could have done all this. Unbelievable.

Oh my gosh I owned the Fantasy Remix album. There was a remix that was like 15 minutes long, give or take a minute of two. But still. Very long remix.

Blige "All I Need" remix and damn near every So So Def/Bad Boy remix. Mariah was merely riding a trend that was happening within the genre and although achieving major success doesn't mean she revolutionized anything.
Amen to that. During 90's around the world. She made remixes became more mainstream genere to Pop market. Most of Asian countries started releasing Single Albums because of Mariah Carey. And before Hip-Hop became really taken over Pop world. She was the one that hired and introduced artist to the rest of the world other than america.

Love the scenes and how Mariah acts unbothered, striking poses, and behaving pretty while Da Brat and Missy slay in their lyrical genius! The entire video shots, angles, and theme was one of the major reasons why this musical era was so indelibly imprinted on many minds! Amazing song and version of the song!

The first time I saw this video, on MTV, long ago ( I was a fan since her debut, and about 16 at that time...), I HAD TO record it on a VHS tape! Yes, we did that! I showed it to my friends, and they LOVED this version much more than the original ( especially the boys, I wonder why, lol...). All jokes aside, both versions are excellent, but the remix is just awesome! And the video? Wow, just, wow! At that time it was crazy, how she almost « invented » the concept of remixing her songs the way she did. It was so original, and they’re all very good. « Fantasy », feat. Mariah's vocal performance is incredible, Da Bratt rips her verses (highly underrated rapper), Missy's harmonies are amazing and one of my favorite parts of the track, Snoop is a good sport considering he's essentially being dissed in his own song.
Dissed all the way to the bank $$$, Mariah's tea kettle boiling melody at the end is remarkable too.

Da Brat has always been my favorite female rapper, she's got such a great flow and attitude. Unrestricted is an amazing album for anyone who hasn't heard it. Great colab here, they all killed it.
