Angie Martinez - The rookie for the song’s intro Lil Kim - Steady lead-in to the lyrical hook Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes - Choreography promotion in the middle of the song Da Brat - Fast-paced rapping for the song’s penultimate stage Missy Elliot - Slowed pace for the closing verse
It’s a shame the 2020 rap girlies can’t do something like this. Too much jealousy and envy, I love how they all supported each other back in the day. It was nothing for another artist to show up to another artist’ video shoot and hop in the video
If they remade this record, who would do the r & b parts tho? 🤔🤔🤔. Black r & b music is damn near dead nowadays. Young M. A. was right to point that out. Summer Walker, Jhene or SZA would sound wack tryna sing this hook.
What she said is actually true. Lol. Left Eye and a group of her friends literally stormed Clive Davis' office brandishing guns, over money. Left Eye did not have a weapon, but her girls sure as hell did. 😂😂😂
Shout-out to Maia Campbell!! She was so gorgeous back then with so much talent and potential. Loved her here and in those Tyrese videos! Hope she's on a healthier path these days! 🤎
Da Brat & Left Eye had the sickest verses. Brat was the Lyrical Heavyweight out of them on this track at that time. Kim became a Lyrically Sharper Emcee later during La Bella & Naked Truth days
I loved Missy Elliott from day 1, her style, flow and creativity was unmatched in my opinion. Left eye and Missy verses were my favs. This video and song is a classic ❤💚
It's the fact that Left Eye and Brat were already established in the game and they joined Lil' Kim on her DEBUT album for a collab with no egos and no conditions, they just had RESPECT for each others craft and welcomed Kim to the game. Today's female rappers could NEVER, artists like Nicki Minaj will do a collab with a new girl and the girls cannot collab with other female rappers without her being upset. Bring this era BACK please 🤗

They say that time heals everything but everyone can attest that Left-Eye's death has had an everlasting void on us all.
❤
I still cry when I think of left eyes death
Chills 🙌🏾
Yeah, I miss Left Eye too.
I have not watched this video in years. Today was my 1st time watching it...and it still hits the same. #riplefteye
Left Eye had the best part in my opinon but they all killed it!!
Lil Kim was my favorite on this song
Facts 💯
I swear Missy is the GOAT, the way she comes in with her verse, singing the hook.
XSCAPE, SWV, MAIA CAMPBELL, MARY J, LIL KIM, LEFT EYE, DA BRAT, MISSY...SO MANY beautiful cameos in this video. women didn't tear each other down they empowered each other in that era of music
Correct me if I’m wrong but did I see Regina king in there
Tiny too 😂
THEJIMEEKAful Tiny was apart of Xscape
Changing Faces, Queen Latifah, Big Lez, Total & Blaque. Who else did i forget?
Y’all got good eyes!
Lil Kim’s flow and demeanor still brings me chills to this day
I swear to God it does that's why I hate how disrespectful people are towards her like she wasn't that bitch back then natural and all
lil Kim tha queen bee alongside BIG
She was the best. Period
you can hear biggie

When female rappers were about unity instead of fighting to be on top! One of the best all female collab! They were all nice!
That's what we need back, no dumbass talking down and shit about one another, that's why I would love for Cardi and Nickli get together and do a song together, that shit would be fire
Who still here in 2024??? Give it up for the Queen of Rap Lil' Kim!!!! Iconic ass song!!!

Facts
They all did! Kim's flow is unparalleled
@@mantamocha5739 kim just copied biggie's flow, nothing new
@@ayoubdeogratius6720 nah, she's got her own. She didn't/doesn't need to copy anyone. She still killed her verses.

"I'LL BE THE ONE TO BLAME AS THE FLAMES KEEP 'RISON' TO THE TOP"

I get it!! lol 😂 🙌
I just got that too 😂
Facts! She stayed bragging about tearing his shit up, she did it even better on the Donell Jones”U know what’s up” remix. She said “so if you serious I’m curious to see what you got, my love is furious cause I believe in BLOWING UP SPOTS” -Lefteye 😈😌😭🙌🏽
😂😂😂😂🤞🏼
Metaphorically there was no other ...same thing with her verse on U know what's up
The most melanin shades you’ll see in a music video

Angie Martinez verse was PERFECT to kick this song off!
Agree I miss her as a rapper
Definitely
I agree 100, it's only when I see this video I'm reminded she can rap lyrics.
Y no mas hora

Yall didn't catch the end of Left Eye's verse...
"Lay another finger on this Big Bad Wolf, Ms Lady Rap Singer/
I be the one to blame as the flames keep 'Rison' to the top, and it don't stop"
All about Andre Rison beating her and thus burning his house down, er blew it down like the big bad wolf. Fuckin genius 👏
Whaaaat 🤯
That verse to damn Raw!!! Left Eye been a beast lyrically with those type of lyrics.
good catch with wolf line playa
Omg I’m her biggest fan and u opened my eyes
We knew what it meant at the time. Lmao! Its when I learned what a double entendre was.
Missy's harmonies at the end thoooo
My favorite part
Always waited for Lil Kim's verse.. "Bang this in your whips".. Such a beautiful entry.
Literally my favorite part lol
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

This cannot be topped, period! And anyone who says Lil Kim isn’t about female rap unity is delusional

Kim came right in and put hands and feet on this instrumental..y’all betta act like y’all know
Left eye just smashes her verse! Sick bars!!!
Mary was in EVERYBODY'S video back in the day! Turned aaaallllllll the way up too! You can tell she was really out there living that life. I'm so happy she got it together. All hail Queen Mary (J Blige)!!
@Nana Good day dear Beauty, I'm sure you're all right here in this comment.. Piece of ART, that what she meant to me.
Mary J. Blige. Is The QUEEN of the reachable.. She's real... Like "real love'..
Queen Mary.. Is a huge boat.. A PA QUE BOT.. Famous for the historic memories of Europe.
QUEEN MARY J..😎
I'M SO SORRY TO HAVE TO TELL YOU THIS...
C'est pas pareil, It's différent...
Have a great time dear Nana.

my personal fav is her rap on the creep super smooth remix.
This was definitely fire but the verse on Donnell Jones' You Know What's Up is dynamite 🧨

Why did I never catch Lefteye's play on words at the end of her verse - "I be the one to blame as the flames keep risin' (Rison) to the top"? Gold
Never noticed it til I just read this......

Dang I just realized and I listened to this song 100 times. Wow.

“You ain’t gonna use me to just be singing hooks”
Lol. I always thought that line was hilarious. Oh, and Left Eye was *fine* in this video.
This sing was bangin back in the days. Its now 2024 and I still gotta dance. Heres too you ladies.
Mary, left eye, Swv, missy, Angie Martinez, da brat, Queen Latifah Aaliyah, Envogue wow iconic black female Rap anthem.
Ty Yovng Beeest 😍😍😍

You forgot Blaque, also where was Aaliyah?
Ty Yovng changing faces! Xscape!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
En Vogue? Where? I saw Changing Faces, SWV, Exscape, Total, Blacque...NO EN VOGUE.
"I be the one to blame as the flames keep rising to the top" No shame in her game. She burnt it to the ground. Left Eye didn't play
30 million dollar mansion just gone. Just like that 😄
Wish you knew the truth - Left Eye (Lisa) was 'blamed' there is a difference.
@@gmchanel5 she admitted she did it though..lol 😂
She was so gorgeous 😭😇.
As the flames keep RISON to the top
There was not a single BBL in this video!!! Can we shout out the natural beauty all these ladies possessed? Even Tiny had her original face❤️
Yoooo😂
SHADE!
💯 Truth
Absolute classic music I'm proud of growing up with!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Tiny was so cute here!
Each of these fine women had a solo verse while employing their rap styles that also fit the flow of the song.
Angie Martinez - The rookie for the song’s intro
Lil Kim - Steady lead-in to the lyrical hook
Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes - Choreography promotion in the middle of the song
Da Brat - Fast-paced rapping for the song’s penultimate stage
Missy Elliot - Slowed pace for the closing verse
It’s a shame the 2020 rap girlies can’t do something like this. Too much jealousy and envy, I love how they all supported each other back in the day. It was nothing for another artist to show up to another artist’ video shoot and hop in the video
Aesha Alberts I miss these days.
I think cardi B will do something like this very soon she's always supporting new female rappers
The Thot Box Remix is good collab: Dreezy, Young M.A., Mulatto, Dream Doll, and Chinese Kitty supported each other.
Nothing beats back in the days
If they remade this record, who would do the r & b parts tho? 🤔🤔🤔. Black r & b music is damn near dead nowadays. Young M. A. was right to point that out. Summer Walker, Jhene or SZA would sound wack tryna sing this hook.
Missy Elliott's intro & verse cracks me up every single time🤣
Frfr i forgot how she slid on this
She produced this song and sang the chorus.
@@MiamiPush2theLimit we know 😶
I'm referring to her Patti Labelle line
Yeah. She does have her vibes. I love the way she was just doing her thing.
I love her intro...best part
Everybody had their own individual style and was celebrated 🙌🏾🥰😍
Women nowadays all look the same. No originality.
Unlike today where they all dress and sound the same
That’s so Fkn true.
“Never the one packing the gun, got some otha raw chicks fa dat lay dat ahss FLAT” Y’all hear my boo talkin spicy..RIP LEFTY ❤️
When I saw her, my heart fell... LOVED HER!! prayers to that Queen. That story is BEYOND tragic 🙏
She indeed goddess
Its sad that her family could not protect her.
Matthew 26:52;53
Revelation .12:7-12
What happened to her?
Lil Kim is a WHOLE LEGEND... her raps are everything damn
So is MISSY too. WHOLE LEGEND
Missy to me is the female rapper GOAT. There will never be another Missy. No one can touch her
@@oaklandsoldier8520 1000% agree. Ion't care about Nicki Minaj and her features. No one touches Missy.
Missy was pretty weak especially on this song.

Mine too, I know both of their verses the most lol!! Left eye smashed... Kim too...
Damnnnnn Brat went TF off on her verse. This is the first time I've heard it uncensored. I miss these ladies of rap frfr!!!!! ALL LEGENDS!
Left Eye said “Lady Pimp ain’t having that shit” and I felt that lol 💯
I love left eye verse
“I be the one to blame as flames keep risin to the top and it don’t stop”🤣🤣🪄🪄🪄 she was cheeky with that verse but too smooth wid it! very smart
Accept where’s Foxy Brown?
