Just finished 100%'ing the game so I will also try to leave some thoughts. 1. You honestly don't need bonus weapons, a lot of your run will be running past enemies and avoiding combat all together. Good pathing and quick decision making will always be better than wasting time mowing down hordes. You also get an achievement for not using them HOWEVER you CAN sell them, and its free money so use it. 2. Get the bolt action rifle ASAP, its basically the best weapon in the game in terms of affordability, and it shreds through key sections like El Gigante, Cabin, and Bella Sisters (3-4 head shots kills one give or take a crit, and you only need to kill the one with the green skirt). Upgrade the power to level 4 early, and going down from Power 3, 2, 2. 3. Abuse Flash Bangs, you get the craft right before the garador section and it's honestly the best purchase other than the rifle you will make all game. Running through hordes, and letting them grab Ashley is a completely valid strat, one flash bang makes them drop her, and if you are quick enough to de-aggro she will NASCAR snap to your location. ABUSE THIS MECHANIC 4. Learn the skips. They are easy. Obviously I'm not gonna type them all out but you can save yourself from an hour+ of game time loss by just sitting down for a bit and practicing them. I will however list them so you know what to look up. Mendez fight skip Garrador Skip Depths Wall Clip Sewer Skip Turret Skip Regenerator Door Skips (easiest one imo) Dufflebag Ashley skip Don't be intimidated by how technical they look, anyone can perform these skips with a little practice. 5. Don't Save until you get to De Lago, if your feeling yourself, right before the El Gigante fight. This will give you a considerable cushion to save primarily at each major skip location with maybe a save or 2 to spare. 6. If you're grabbing what treasures are right near you and optimizing your selling, you will be able to afford a Rocket Launcher for the Verdugo fight, Krauser fight AND Saddler, all get one shot by it. 7. YOU HAVE TIME, don't feel rushed, if you want to go out of your way to do a request or 2 go ahead, just make sure if you want to reset the clock to where you saved for whatever reason you need to fully EXIT the game, if you reload, the time carries over. 8. Save the golden egg you get in the lake section for Salazar, it deals 70% of his health. One sniper round as he is aggrod,, into golden egg in full Broken Butterfly unload will one round him with no counter attack. 9. You can ditch Ashley in the church before cabin if you climb up the ladder she drops, crouch against the wall with the ladder on your left and quickturn+spam interact button, this will clip you through the wall and let Ashley be safe for the remainder of the chapter. It's also very easy to do, Some general game knowledge Ashley is pretty safe most of the time, only things that will down her are stray hits, her getting grabbed is not a big deal, you have plenty of time to free her. First Village section is 15 kills to end it. Cabin section is 14 kills/5 kills/Boss Double Garador room can be cheesed by shooting one of the bells waiting for them to clump on it and raining grenades on them. Always use rocket launcher on Verdugo, stalling him out or killing him normally is a huge time loss. Rocket Launcher for Krauser2 is not necessary but still way easier and affordable. Upgrade your knife to max power before Krauser1, then sell it and re buy, you get most of your money back and it's worth it. Backing up into a wall while scoped and looking all the way down will make the Regenerators and Ganado unable to hit you when you are waiting for the key card to get upgraded, this works for both upgrades, they might however give you a greeting slap when you go for the keycard so be mindful of that. Louis AI is dumb as shit, never assume he will help you, he won't. Just ignore that he is there. On top of this, be WARY of the Novi sections, IMO the most inconsistent and dangerous enemies in the game. Bolt Action, Starter Pistol, Riot Gun, Broken Butter Fly and then later killer7 will be your best go to weapons, these mixed with a healthy crafting of flash bangs will be all you need. TMP has it's uses in a high level speedrun, but for your average person, it's just not consistent enough. 10. Notable good save spots Right before De Lago or El Gigante, I reccomend El Gigante as your first save since everything before El Gigante is a Joke minus the village. Before Cabin, Before Garador Door Skip(this gives you a file where you can practice that and water hall pathing) Before the second El Gigante Gaunlet where you need to lower the first initial draw bridge Before the maze After the Ashley Section (bug sections are brutal) Start of Lous Pair up chapter Before first Krauser fight Before Salazar Outside the regenerator lab Chapter 14 Start Chapter 15 Start No saves needed for chapter 16, its the easiest chapter in the game hands down, sell everything and get a rocket launcher and laugh. That list gives you 3 additional saves to work with, so if there is a section that is wooping your ass in particular you have some emergency saves to fall back on. Nothing wrong with using Armor Ashley or Infinite Ammo though, I did it for my no heal/no merchant/handgun knife run. However their is an achievement to beat Professional without bonus weapons, and if you want to, you can easily kill 2 birds with one flash bang. TLDR; I believe in you King/Queen, never give up. EDIT: As of the new patch all skips have been removed, however you can roll back your game to the previous patch which is what all the speedrunners are doing if you still want access to door skips/wall clips.
@@therealkiwigamer Huh I had done a quick dirty test on hardcore and it seemed to track with what I said (Hardcore, load autosave from menu, load typewriter save from menu) I'll give it another go later, see what comes up. might be a change unique to professional since there's no autosaves there.
Ok that's cool tips but I don't know about this tho can you buy a rocket launcher for saddler and krauser on the same pro playthrough and I haven't used rockets at all until I got to island so can I ?
The thing with Ashley being taken is not a glitch, if your too far from her in any section of the game they will take her, she still has to be relatively close to you for ganados to drop her
I Mean I Left Ashley In Her Knight Armor At The Main Village While I Ran All The Way To The Cabin Fight And It Didnt Trigger A Game Over Weirdly But When I Was Opening The Doors To The 3 Headed Puzzle Room I Immediately Got A Game Over Since I Left Her In The Maze Lol
I Was Also Leaving Her When We Left The Church The First Time She Was In Her Armor Suit Because In The Original They Keep Dropping Her No Matter What, So I Ran From The Church All The Way To The Merchant And Was Buying/Upgrading My Stuff And All I Heard Was Her Screaming In The Distance The Whole Time 😂 I Just Marched All The Way To Cabin Not Worrying At All And She Teleports In The Cutscene For Cabin, But Noooo If She's In The Maze And You Leave Her Its Game Over I Was Shocked When It Happened 😨
Some basic tips I have from my many runs 1. It is absolutely worth taking your time in Village to stock up on treasures and doing all the merchant requests. Village is by far the hardest part of the run and where you're likely to reset the most. Once you get the infinite sweeper at the start of Castle, the run is pretty much smooth sailing from there. 2. For the mut, I highly recommend clearing out the village before heading over to Mendez' house. Then using the typewriter at the house, pull out the hand cannon from storage and use that on the mut. Using grenades and flashes to stun him helps A LOT. I wait for his tentacles to pop out then flash him, dump the entire hand cannon into him, flash again then finish off with a shotgun/rifle. After that I just send the cannon back to storage. You can skip the mut and get the remaining spinel in the castle, however I'm not sure if you'll be able to get enough spinel before going into water hall which SUCKS without the infinite sweeper. 3. Sell your shotgun for the riot gun right before fighting Big Cheese. It helps a lot. His first phase is really easy, run up top and simply sprint left/right to avoid his slam (the attack you can parry). Evade his swipe and jump down for his big spin. His second phase is a little tricky but when he swings down, try get behind him and dump riot rounds into his back. He will drop fast. 4. Verdugo can be stun locked with the Sweeper. After freezing him the first time, he's scripted to run away, but the 2nd time you freeze him, keep the trigger down and stay aimed at his head. He should be stun locked and unable to move which trivialises the fight. 5. You can use flash grenades to stun one of the double El Gigantes and drop them into the lava immediately 6. It's definitely worth back tracking to the throne room to get a golden egg for the Salazar fight. Throw it at his head and he will be chunked for like 70% of his health. Then you can dump a magnum into his head and finish him off very easily. 7. Before fighting Saddler, sell your Sweeper or whatever and get a rocket launcher. It will one shot him. Bonus points for picking up a Killer7 to dump for his second phase. It doesn't make much of a difference but it's fun. 8. Flashes are busted and should be used often. I throw one at the 2nd crank in water hall and it stuns pretty much all the archers. Definitely worth buying the crafting recipe (I also recommend the heavy grenade recipe just in case you don't have any for the AA gun) 9. Familiarise yourself with treasure locations, it is literally free money that will help out a lot.
@@darkknight2864 it's now possible with mercenary mode to get the handcannon and it's easier than doing professional without bonus weapons edit: or you trying to get achievement then good luck
I found out that If you throw a grenade in the middle of the stairs when you’re at the house (chapter 5), you’ll get like four more wood pieces to cover up the windows 😅
Thank you! I know once all three are boarded you can camp upstairs and it’ll speed up tje first cutscene and after kicking like 4addsrs it’ spawn the bull who you have to kill to insta end it
or grab the free one while going for the church key. there’s two golden eggs throughout the game, getting the one on the lake saves more time then heading back to the throne room.
@@ImDimiko You want to sell that one for the request so you can get infinite ammo in chapter 7. If you want to keep that egg, you'll need to wait til chapter 9 to get infinite ammo. Which I don't recommend. It's like one and a half minute to go from the gondola at the ball room to the throne room and get it. Also get some treasure there that could arguably be considered worthwhile in its own right.
@@Petter1900 oh shit you’re right, i don’t know why i forgot the golden eggs are a quest for the merchant! thank you for correcting me, i don’t want anyone fucking bc of me haha “i don’t want anyone fucking UP bc of me haha” im keeping the original spelling error bc it’s funny
For the Salazar statue you don’t need to throw a grenade, it has a weak spot on the back of the head that you can shoot with just 1 bullet and save the grenade also for the Salazar boss fight you don’t need the rpg because he is extremely vulnerable to gold eggs 1 gold egg takes about 70% of his health so 2 will insta kill him
I hate to farming the second golden egg, if i lucky enough the chicken will lay a golden egg instantly in the lake or Salazar's throne room, if I'm not lucky then it will take like 10-15 minutes to wait a chicken to lay the second egg maybe over 20 minutes if your luck is shit, this is time waste for an s+ rank run, so i think one golden egg and a few killer7 shots comes in handy.
@@RadenHZ26 1 gold egg is guaranteed to spawn at the chicken farm on the lake at the back and there is another guaranteed in the locked treasure in the throne room so you don’t need any luck at all for golden eggs but you might want to sell one of them for the merchant request so 1 will be fine to fight Salazar. Also you can’t use killer7 on Salazar in new game as you can only buy it on the island so it won’t help for s+
@@hughee i mean the broken butterfly lol, sorry. Well i didn't know that golden egg have 2 guaranteed spawn, i only know the one on the lake side on a chicken farm, gonna check it later on my 3rd pro playthrough. Thanks for the info.
I put over 100 hours into the game and still couldn't make it to Chapter 4 before having to break down and save on Professional. Ultimately, my first save was in Chapter 2 at the first merchant, right before the canyon area. I finished the game with S+ on Professional with only 13 saves, and if you're having a really hard time with it, don't be afraid to save a bit early like I did. My second save was at the church before heading over to the fish farm. If you're a total badass, then you do you, but these parts were *really* rough for me and merited those saves. You will probably be able to handle one or more chapters without saving after you reach the castle and get the Chicago Sweeper with the infinite ammo exclusive from racking up side quest spinels. The game is much, much, MUCH easier once you're past the Village. It's still a pain, but compared to the Village, it's a joke. Try to go fast while in the castle, and grab all the treasures you can without having to side-track too much. I reached the Island with 1 hour and 10 minutes remaining to finish the game, and that was *scary*. I did pull it off, but I used a rocket launcher on Krauser and Saddler, and my hands were shaking the entire time I was rushing the Island. If you reach the Castle after about 2 hours of play time, you should still be able to finish the game in time, but yeah, S+ Professional suuuuuucks.
I know and I understand what you mean because I'm still on chapter 2 and I been Dien for a long time so they need to stop telling them lies I was really talking to the one who say it was easy if it's that easy I'll pay you to come do mean no joking
I believe this video was made before the release of the mercenaries mode and the exclusive tickets that are purchasable but if you get an S on any character (Leon in one Luis in another etc.) you unlock the handcannon. If you then purchase just 1 exclusive ticket for I think 3 euro on professional mode you can immediately pickup the handcannon making the village part easy and then once you get to the merchant in Chapter 2-3 you can give it infinite ammo. Made the playthrough honestly a bit of a joke so if you're down for the challenge you can do it the classic way.
for the house part with Luis, blocking the two windows to the left and standing at the top of the stairs and aiming at the window helps a lot. give you a nice little shooting range too so all the enemies are straight ahead of you and you dont have to be running around getting blindsided. then when Luis says to go upstairs, you go downstairs lol then when the bull dude comes in, throw some grenades at him, couple shotgun blasts, and a flashbang with a stab should do it.
Doing the No healing and Pistol/ Knife only run on NG+ assisted, getting pretty much all loot, and selling 95% of all health, ammo and treasure items was enough to get the Infinite Rocket on my 2nd run of the game. GL and have fun with it!👍
I would actually suggest saving in the village heavily. Castle is very easy, because as soon as you enter, you can buy the upgrade for Sweeper. After that I just skipped saving utill the Verdugo. My reasoning for this, is that All village encounters are quite a pain without good weapons. and you will need to run past most enemies, and that can get dicey.
For me it was just trial and error, I saved every 2 chapters and if I didn't like the time I got ending a chapter I start over, a teacher once told me struggling is good because that is the first step to learning. So I just pushed till I got the S+ rank, probably lost some hairs but was worth it in the end
The savage mutt is easily handled with the knife. Just use the stab attack not the slash. He will jump around and dodge just get back on him with the knife stabs. It keeps him stun locked and will take about a minute to kill.
Fun fact with the Bella sisters, if you run to the bridge while they are chasing you, they will stop, stare and turn around, and leave. This works because you can Bait and hit and then follow and hit and restart w/out worrying about taking any damage from them And fun fact about Salazar, if you get the golden egg in Salazars throne room and hit him with it, it will take out 70% of his health and then you just need to pop him like crazy 2 golden eggs kills him
little tip for the salazar statue skip, there’s a little red spot on the back of his head that you can shoot to blow it up and save a grenade for later use.
I’m practicing for Pro by playing Hardcore and going for an S+. It wasn’t easy, but I managed to crawl my way through the village and by chapter 6, I have a total time of 1:45:00. I managed to gather 30 spinels and I did every request except for killing the rats (I completely forgot). There were a few deaths where I accidentally loaded a checkpoint instead of quitting out. I probably could’ve saved 10 or 20 minutes. But outside of that, I’m at the castle gates with an infinite sweeper and I’m ready to kick some ass! I will say, I’ve never had a more stressful time playing than when I’m on the clock, but it’s fun. Reminds me of Dead Rising. I feel like a speed runner lol.
Tip: save time by getting the sweeper and armour Ashley in one run. Professional in less than 7 hours. No need for hardcore mode if you wanna save time. You can unlock the most stuff in 1 run by doing this, just use the infinite launcher as the video says
With the new update of Mercenaries you can now purchase upgrade tickets for roughly 3 pounds, or 2 or more for a slightly higher price. I am unaware of the Dollar equivalent but, this will seriously help people save time since you can upgrade either the Chicago Sweeper, Primal Knfe, Handcannon(You can now obtain it by getting a S rank with any character on all stages of Mercenaries, my preference was Villager Krauser, Castle Luis and Island Leon although I suspect Krauser and Hunk would also do the trick.) This will essentially allow you to ignore spinals and save time, it’ll also help with the initial village battle and cabin section. For those of you who don’t want to purchase a microtransaction(Which is understandable.) then you can load a new game and focus on spinals to upgrade either the Sweeper or Handcannon, however you’ll only be able to do this at chapter 7 as opposed to chapter 2 via purchasing one.
@@someguyontheinternet.3318 corpos, Microtransactions don’t belong in single player games… especially those weapon upgradeable tickets, it’s pathetic..
Very nice tips thank you! But... I am still not sure on a couple of tips? When you mention not be able to use some bonus weapons' for the S+ ranking in professional, which bonus weapons are you not allowed to use ? And how many hours do I need to finish the game ? Another question I have, when playing on harcore mode to get Ashley armor, do I start a new game , or can I play on NG+ and use the infinite rocket launcher? Thank you again
You can't use the infinite launcher to get S+ in Professional mode because it can only be used on a new game plus and not a new game. You can use the infinite launcher to get the Ashley armor on a new game plus. To get S+ on Professional you need to complete the game game with 15 saves or less in under 5 hours and 30 Minutes.
One of the best skips is the door glitch which cuts out the whole wrecking ball/ sewer section. I’m not sure how it lines up with using the saves though. Playing on non professional you can save right before it and reload if the glitch takes too long to pull off.
For PC gamers @ that section, its easier for them to phase Leon through the door w/ the sniper scope, taking them no time @ all. Console players however, its a tossup. Ya either nail the angle & the timing the first time to phase through or it may take a couple of tries. Def agree on saving prior nearby
Using glitches is cheating in my book. There are enough legit cheez-ball options as it is. Just use a couple of heavy grenades on the wall up front and the battle is pretty quick.
For the wall with the wrecking ball, called crane by Erza, you can use ANY weapon to damage the wall. Not just grenades. So the Chicago sweeper works to do the same thing. I found this out using Matilda on a full run I did for the knives and guns only challenge.
There's just no way I'm ever pulling any of this off. Standard difficulty made me feel like a complete beginner who's never played a video game before, and I can't even reliably get TO the village on professional. It's an incredible game, I'm just garbage at it lol.
Run past everyone. When the first ganado comes down the stairs in the house wait behind the little table until he does his second lunge and run around him. Sneak past the next guy and grab the green herb. Shoot the crows and collect the ammo and ptas. Run past the two by the car, run to the right through the door of the shed and the ganado in there will miss his swing and just loop around collecting supplies. When you get to the village run up behind the woman on the right and stealth her, loot around there, run to the other side and do the same. You'll get spotted if you run up to the gate on the left or try to run around the house on the right. So make a choice, which way you want to risk. Then when you run into the chainsaw house block up the window ans grab everything especially the grenade and shotgun and jump out the window beside the cabinet with the grenade. There should be a group of ganados by the ladder to the window so grenade them. Jump down and head shot everything with the shotgun, try to group them up for a second grenade if you have it and use the flash for if you get too crowded. Your goal is to kill 15 not Salvador so just avoid him. Hopefully this helps.
@@InReserveProductions Thanks for writing that out. I'll give it a shot, but it just never goes as smoothly as people make it sound. Sometimes I can run right past the first few ganados and grab the flash grenade and whatnot from the little cabin, sometimes they manage to clip me as I run by. Then in the village itself, either I get spotted trying to sneak around to the right, or that wandering lady will be on her way back and instantly spot me. I'm sure I can manage if I just keep bashing my head into the wall, but it's kind of... Not so much fun lol. I really don't want to cave and go for the infinite rocket launcher to unlock some of the extras, but it might be the only way I ever actually do it.
@@Galamoth06 I'd 100% recommend getting armoured ashley at minimum, once you get past the village, which I'm sure you will, having ashley being invincible is a massive help
@@EvanSmith8878 For that I need to beat hardcore under 7 hours, right? So I just have to adapt to the harder difficulty while also shaving off about 10 hours from my previous run... Exciting... I still have a few clockwork castellans and merchant requests to finish, which means I probably won't even bother going for a fast time until after another full playthrough.
Yeah the opening part is not easy. It took me a while to grasp how I should approach it. My best advice is to kill as many ganados as you can but get inside the house to spawn Dr. Salvador before he spawns from the gates so you don't have two of them. Get the shotgun and grenade and try to finish off enough ganados to trigger the bell. Just don't waste your time with Dr. Salvador and unleash everything on the others.
Another good tip, while not recommended, is to purchase an exclusive ticket from the DLC store and use it right away on the Chicago Sweeper the moment you meet the merchant. You can use it in any new save, so you don’t have to do all of the merchant’s tasks, to save enough time.
I honestly have no idea how speed runners fee comfortable not saving before the fish boss. It seems completely random to me if I'll win or not. Sometimes it'll just drag me into debris with no way to dodge. Like it'll just suddenly turn and I won't have anywhere near enough time to turn (and yes, I'm always holding right or left, but sometimes it suddenly changes it's mind and turns, so I hit the debris anyway.
I've killed it on Pro in like 6 or 7 consecutive shots. Then I've fought it on Hardcore or Standard and it took like 15-20 harpoons. The 8 or 9 times I've fought it through different runs, it has NEVER been consistent.
I've had runs where, because of that boss, I've had time variation of anywhere from 5-9 minutes. I can't find a source on what or why. I've seen speedruns where I mimic it to an exact science. Still keeps swimming....
A lot of them do save but mostly because of time. He gets a lot of HP back after he tries to eat you (when he comes running straight at you and Leon says "you want to swallow me whole huh?"). To clear it the fastest way, you need to hit every single harpoon to kill him, otherwise he will regenerate until this phase again. Dying in this part is actually kind of hard, you just need to dodge to the sides but killing this little shit fast is the whole problem.
Not sure if anyone else mentioned it but you can skip the section where you need collect tnt to blast rocks leading to the double el gigante fight if you blast the boulder with the rocket launcher - I assume it may work with a large grenade or two as well!
you can use chicago sweeper and still get S+ rank on professional? And you don't need a rocket launcher for Salazar. You just need to carry two golden eggs and two shot him with eggs. You can save a rocket for Verdugo or the mines section with Luis you can blow it up and skip the two chainsaws and skip the TNT. Or use it on the two Gigantes
@@ManInBlackWerneck You can use bonus weapons but only the ones on a new game always available in the storage not new game plus like the infinite launcher.
I heard about the eggs but I didn't know it was legit. That's crazy but funny at the same time. I guess that side quest where you deface the portrait of Salazar wasn't a joke but foreshadowing.
Instead of using the RPG for Salazar, it might be better to use it either for the Verdugo fight or to skip the TNT section. Arguably I think it might be better to use it on Verdugo since killing him early removes the time needed to wait for the elevator to come down, which may save more time than skipping the entire TNT section compared to just running to get to the TNT with the infinite chicago sweeper. As for Salazar, I think it may be better to just save the two golden eggs for him and throw it at him. And ofc if you don't mind doing glitches just to get the S+, you can always use the sniper glitch to skip the entire wrecking ball section and rooms before it after reuniting with Ashley. It saves having to use two extra heavy grenades which you can use for the AA turret.
I agree with Salazar, no need to use Rocket Launcher here. Though use only one golden egg instead of two, It's not worth going after the second one it loses too time, it's around 5 mins or so. You can combo him to death with just one golden egg if you buy Broken Buttlerfly before the fight, it's how most speedrunners are doing it. The stat is following: At the start of the fight, he essentially lets you do free damage, there's enough time to do 2 magnum shots into golden egg which puts him down, then do 2 Magnum shots into knife prompt. With enough Power upgrades for your magnum it should kill him and you don't waste any magnum ammo since you will want to sell it and get Killer 7, making you use only the ammo that comes with the BB. Sadly I don't remember how many upgrades you need to kill him with this combo if done perfectly, but for me he usually lives with 1 shot remaining to die because I am often too slow to get the knife prompt... but it doesnt matter it's still a 30s fight at most because he lives with essentially 1 shot to die so I don't even need to dodge his stuff and just shoot with rifle as soon as he starts using his move and he dies. Way cheaper to do this way and you can use the Rocket Launcher on Verdugo (which gets you 3m) or the TNT section on Luiz (my favorite because I usually save here, if I have enough for RPG I can save later)
@@Vazio3 it doesn't take 5 minutes to get the egg and if ur good on time it won't matter. Better to save ammo for island when they throw onslaughts of enemies at you
this also works better if you sold the first egg for the spinel to get the Chicago sweeper or handcannon exclusive early and you need at least one egg for Salazar to take 70% of his health and put him in a vulnerable state and finish him off
If you’re in assisted mode, on your last save of the game, you can buy as many first aid sprays, store them and sell them in new Game plus professional mode for full value if you have the rhinoceros beetle charm. This makes getting the infinite rocket launcher much easier to attain.
I also noticed that when you quit after Leon died, go to main story then continue instead of Load game. It will bring you back to the last Auto Save of the current game you’re playing. It doesn’t add up your total play time on that mode and doesn’t add up the number of deaths too.
Don't fight the dog to have spinels, instead do the blue medalions at castle entrance it gives you enough to buy the tcket and have infinite chicago to begin the castle, less risky and you save ammo for the house defense. The Chicago is all you need, i did S+ with it, and the Stingray for regeneradors, with the Chicago you don't need shotgun, pistol, just sell it all, and use the money to upgrade the Chicago, once it deals 2,00 eadh hits, ennemies are a joke. All you need is Chicago, Knife and flash grenades, rocket launch for Verdugo, gold egg Salazar, rocket Krauser out, Rocket Saddler dont worry you will have enough money. Use any known method to cheese the game any working tactics flash grenades on Gigante's plagas etc... Use Ashley's armor, so you never have to worry about her. Keep a nice amount of grenades for the twin garrador room, you lure them by making sound, you grenade these basterds, and you shoot the plages in their backs like a mad man, they die surprisingly fast with the Chicago. Use the laser pass tricks in the first and last Island sections, see tutorials. The Chicago deals tremendous amount of damage per seconds, don't hesitate to upgrade it to the max, and even better it stagger ennemies like hell. You don't need any other main weapon to do S+.
For the mutt quest, lay explosive mines at the iron gates before heading into the house. The dog spawns there so the mines can catch it. I used 3 and it only took a couple rifle shots in the village square to put it down
There's a skip for the mendez fight that's pretty easy. Also use the gold case if you bought the deluxe addition. Also if you keep both golden eggs you can 1 shot salazar by using both golden eggs.
You can also unlock the handcannon by getting an S ranking in all 3 maps in Mercenaries mode with ONE character (As in, all 3 S ranks have to be with the same character. I used Krauser because he's the most OP one, but it doesn't really matter which character you choose. WAY easier than playing the entire story again.)
Tried it but went back to the chicago. Handcannon aim is way too unreliable and you end up taking longer killings groups than if you were to just spray everything with the chicago
I just got the Infinite Ammo Rocket Launcher on my 3rd playthrough. It took me a bit longer cause I ended up upgrading the Red9, but I had the discount charm. Lucked out. Going for the Ashley Knight Armor and Chicago Sweeper next. Not sure if I care about getting the Handcannon tbh. I would like Cat Ears, though. Honestly, this remake is way harder than the original. New Game Plus was a joke on original, but Hardcore was still challenging for me even with upgraded health, shotgun and pistol.
Yeah this game is definitely harder than the original. The ganados are like the NWO. Your not getting jumped by one member, your getting jumped by the whole faction.
have to say ur guide is really simple but useful. Just most of the guide out there didn't mention about A.I RNG and how the special enemy like Dr Salvador can teleport and cut u off guard in professional difficulty. Also a lots of guides forgot to mention that Ashley Section where u need to pull 4 levers to unlock the door, In Hardcore and Professional its different strats, without the armor on Hardcore run Ashley might get stuck in 2 of those 4 levers and end up cornered
I think it got easier now when you can just buy tickets...so you can skip the side quests early in the game, cause I wouldn't be killing that mutt again, having the cabin fight straight after the mutt was near impossible for me.
The best tip is that time is added when you load after death without quitting. Shit ruined my hardcore s+ i thought i was just slow but it makes so much sense now goddammit
I got the infinite rocket launcher on my first hardcore playthrough and learned the hard way when to switch to the handcannon because I kept hitting Ashley with it by mistake. In the water hall, I ended up equipping her with sunglasses and spamming flash grenades until the ganados were far enough away that the handcannon wouldn't come near her. Now I have Armor Ashley, I can't wait to just not worry.
For the Salazar statue head, while climbing the stairs you can actually just shoot a red spot in the back of the head and blow it up to save the Grenade
In my S+ run I just skipped the mutt and saved myself from mental torture and did a few extra castle quests. I still made it in under 5 hours so it's still doable. It's all downhill after you get infinite ammo for the chicago.
Believe it or not, if you just get into melee range of the mutt on the edge of the village where enemies don't detect you, you can just casually knife the mutt over and over again and it won't hit you so long as you don't give it a few seconds of not being attacked. I tried killing it with guns for perhaps two hours before finally doing melee, and it was a joke.
Thanks for the video, it gave a lot of helpful advice. I'm on my first ng+ round on professional, going for the Chicago. After that it's HC for the armor and then the cat ears :)
@@erzatitaniawins Good point. I should be able to hit professional at sub 5h without too much of an issue. After all, since it's ng+ I can save as much as I want. Only thing I'm missing out on is the ears. Again, thanks for the guide :)
just started play re4 remake and omg! i didnt know about the whole quit out and load from the main menu thing with the time. i didnt realize my time kept going up till i was almost done with the game and i beat it in 5 hours 40 minutes. just out of the S rank. oh freakin well!!
Completed my run last night. Was extremely tense because my last save was just before the fight with Krauser. Didn't need any bonus weapons but flashbangs, heavy grenades, the bolt action rifle, the 870 saved my skin a lot. BTW make sure tour combat knife is upgraded to max durability. Is your difference between life and death.
Just so everyone knows the sisters will freeze when you lead them to the typewriter, they will evetually go back to the arena but if you have the base hand cannon or the first riffle you can kill them quickly, then get the crank and use a flash to open the door, second just use the merchant to skip Méndez, it's really easy to pull, took me 30 seconds, also about the mut, I know you can kill it with a rocket by shooting at the door it stares at you from, but I don't know if you can get a normal one on that chapter, I heard you can, by that point I already had the sniper damage at max so I known you should have the money to buy one.
@@Galamoth06 it’s rough. Like i know there’s videos of speed runners making clears and whatnot but I’m convinced that without infinite ammo weapons, cheats, glitches or some combo of the 3, Professional mode is absolutely *impossible* to accomplish
not the most guaranteed strategy but one thing i found useful is the house opposite the shotgun house has a barrel in the back room next to the window, that has always had a hand grenade in it for me. i avoid going into the shotgun house so the chainsaw guy doesn’t spawn for a little while. once i grab that grenade i go up the ladder to the tower area thing, if you don’t move to the middle of that room and just sit at the top of the ladder so you don’t fall through the floor you can shoot enemies when they try to get up top, once enough of them are grouped up at the bottom toss the grenade down and you kill about 7-12 of them at once which is very good considering you need to kill 15 for the bell to ring. just pick the others off one by one when they try to get up and fall through the floor if you need to try and get outta there.
the exit menu and loading from main menu frustrated menu, I just found out about this, after thinking I just ran through a chapter under 15 minutes, it gave me 40 minutes total because I was loading from the death screen, goddamn
Up to the mut is all that matters. Once you have the sweeper fully upgrade it and your golden. Maybe get one extra durability in a knife for first krouser fight.
There is a away to load the game without going all the way to the main menu. You can have another save and the load that one and then reload the run your on and it resets
Okay for some reason others have said do not use any bonuses when going for an S+ Rank but now people are using bonuses for it now. Did I miss something...??
Yeah what they mean is that you can only use the bonus weapons that are always available even in a new game once you unlock them like the sweeper or primal knife. The infinite launcher is a bonus weapon that can only be used in a new game plus so it can't be used for a S+ run.
I found out the hard you way have to quit and then load the game. I knew you couldn't continue but didn't know you had to quit then load. Drove me nuts
Okay I saw you read a couple of times I'm just trying to understand the order this is my first time trying to do professional, what comes first The hand cannon or the ears? Correct me If I'm wrong First playthrough to unlocked the infinite rocket Second playthrough to unlock the Ashley's armor Third playthrough to play on professional so I can unlock The sweeper? (I can use the infinite rocket and the armor here on this playthrough) Where do we get the cat ear I have to do another professional with no bonus weapons? My confusion is between the Cannon and the ears, can you clarify on that
The cat ears is what you earn by completing Professional on S+ mode. The handcannon can know be earned in mercenaries by getting an s rank on all maps know making it easier.
I'm assuming you have the sweeper with infinite ammo but I have always tried to let the Garrador's do my work for me by putting ganado's between me and them so when I shoot them they bump into the ganado's and attack them and then proceed to run around to the other side of the room while taking some shots at the Garradors.
My tip to make the Savage Mutt quest easier is to shoot it with whatever weapon until it's back splits, then toss a flash to get a ton of damage and the first stab easy, then shoot just hammer it with rounds.
I actually started to attempt this (only trophys left are the 2 S+ and all weapons) but after learning the 15 save rule this just not sound enjoyable at all. So i’m not sure I’m going to bother.
@@TheMonarchX oh i’m not denying its doable lol. Just doesn’t sound like something enjoyable to do so don’t see myself bothering lol. I like the game too much so why make myself never want to play it again lol
Actually I had over 24hrs on my play through on professional and still unlocked the handcannon. So as long as no bonus weapons are used and not going for S+, you can take all the time you want.
@erzatitaniawins okay, but how???? I'm at verdogo right now, and my playtime is 2 hours and 33 minutes. So when I die and load game without exit, the time will be the same as before 2 hours and 33 minutes. You can try it by yourself and see if I'm wrong🌹👍
In terms of the damage difference I can't say of the top of my head but I felt like I could take a decent amount of damage and still keep going compared to not wearing it. Yeah the mine cart screwed me one time on my run. The village is the biggest hurdle.
What you die in mine cart ride? The best tip I can give you there is to shoot everyone (duh) except the chainsaw. The chainsaw man you want to shoot his mine cart instead because it "dies" faster. For Village, watch a speedrun and see how they stack Ganados to throw grenades at the and skip, but I will give a brief explanation: In the village, start going to the right side, kill the old woman stealthy (you need to get to the village fast to achieve this, skip every ganado basically), grab red herb and go to the window where you can get the grenade, but before going into it, shoot the ganado like 5-6 times, jump into the window, get the grenade, open the door and throw the grenade, a lot of them will be inside (It starts with 2 inside, some will get in after they hear you shooting). Be sure there's another "wave" of ganados coming, if there isn't either reload or try to kill 1 ganado to see if it does the trick. When you see the next wave coming (like 3-4 ganados coming from somwhere), go inside the cabin to get the shotgun. Before going up, shoot the window that has the wooden planks, this will make them stack here. Go up, get the shotgun, the grenade and the shotgun ammo. Sometimes a ganado will be up here, shoot him with the shotgun to not lose time. Jump into the window that has the Velvet, you will see the ganados stacked into that window. Throw the grenade. If done correctly, this kills the 15 ganados you need to do the skip. If not you can use the shotgun to get a few Double Kills and you're good to go. It sounds easy but the Village is what ruins many speedruns and makes people restart... On the bright side you lose only 5 minutes to do everything so restarting isn't *as bad* as you might think (though it can get exhausting, which is why I always save after a good/perfect village run)
@Vazio it's like when I'm trying to shoot the chainsaw man. The reticle locks exactly right beside his head. It won't move or budge an inch. I'm shooting it, won't touch him.
@@novaknight8579 Shoot his cart instead. If the reticle isn't moving from his head maybe it's the aim assist? Might be helpful to disable it when he appears on your screen (annoying I know but maybe that's how it works)
ABUSE THIS MECHANIC
4. Learn the skips. They are easy. Obviously I'm not gonna type them all out but you can save yourself from an hour+ of game time loss by just sitting down for a bit and practicing them. I will however list them so you know what to look up.
Mendez fight skip
Garrador Skip
Depths Wall Clip
Sewer Skip
Turret Skip
Regenerator Door Skips (easiest one imo)
Dufflebag Ashley skip
Don't be intimidated by how technical they look, anyone can perform these skips with a little practice.
It's also very easy to do,
Some general game knowledge
Ashley is pretty safe most of the time, only things that will down her are stray hits, her getting grabbed is not a big deal, you have plenty of time to free her.
First Village section is 15 kills to end it.
Cabin section is 14 kills/5 kills/Boss
Double Garador room can be cheesed by shooting one of the bells waiting for them to clump on it and raining grenades on them.
10. Notable good save spots
Right before De Lago or El Gigante, I reccomend El Gigante as your first save since everything before El Gigante is a Joke minus the village.
Before Cabin,
Before Garador Door Skip(this gives you a file where you can practice that and water hall pathing)
Before the second El Gigante Gaunlet where you need to lower the first initial draw bridge
Before the maze
After the Ashley Section (bug sections are brutal)
Start of Lous Pair up chapter
Before first Krauser fight
Before Salazar
Outside the regenerator lab
Chapter 14 Start
Chapter 15 Start
No saves needed for chapter 16, its the easiest chapter in the game hands down, sell everything and get a rocket launcher and laugh.
Well damn, thank you.
Quick question about number 7
Does timer rollback only on full exit? I had assumed it only tracked time when you loaded autosaves
@@gamemaniac2013 yes. I speak from PAINFUL experience. You NEED to fully exit.

Ok that's cool tips but I don't know about this tho can you buy a rocket launcher for saddler and krauser on the same pro playthrough and I haven't used rockets at all until I got to island so can I ?
The thing with Ashley being taken is not a glitch, if your too far from her in any section of the game they will take her, she still has to be relatively close to you for ganados to drop her
I think I was going inside the doors from the maze to the room where you need the three heads while Ashley was still in the maze.
@@erzatitaniawins then it’s kinda your own fault

Some basic tips I have from my many runs
5. You can use flash grenades to stun one of the double El Gigantes and drop them into the lava immediately
Definitely worth buying the crafting recipe (I also recommend the heavy grenade recipe just in case you don't have any for the AA gun)
9. Familiarise yourself with treasure locations, it is literally free money that will help out a lot.
Excellent tips. I feel dumb for not taking out the villagers before taking on the mutt.
Definitely some really awesome and helpful tips. Thank you 😁👍
Tip 5. Holy moly. Noce
can't use the handcannon since i'm trying to get the cat ears to get the handcannon
@@darkknight2864 it's now possible with mercenary mode to get the handcannon and it's easier than doing professional without bonus weapons
edit: or you trying to get achievement then good luck
I found out that If you throw a grenade in the middle of the stairs when you’re at the house (chapter 5), you’ll get like four more wood pieces to cover up the windows 😅
Thank you! I know once all three are boarded you can camp upstairs and it’ll speed up tje first cutscene and after kicking like 4addsrs it’ spawn the bull who you have to kill to insta end it
Use Golden egg against salazar. You can find a second one in the throne room. This way you can save that 160K towards weapon upgrades.
or grab the free one while going for the church key. there’s two golden eggs throughout the game, getting the one on the lake saves more time then heading back to the throne room.
@@Petter1900 oh shit you’re right, i don’t know why i forgot the golden eggs are a quest for the merchant! thank you for correcting me, i don’t want anyone fucking bc of me haha
“i don’t want anyone fucking UP bc of me haha” im keeping the original spelling error bc it’s funny
How did the dog kill you so much? I killed it the first time on Professional.
Btw do i need to hit salazar on his real body to do the damage or i can hit him anywhere? , just knew about this tip ! It will help alot thank you!
It can be pretty easy to get to chapter 7 for 1 save really just gotta run and skip unnecessary fights
If it's so easy like that then I'll pay you to come finish mine then
I know and I understand what you mean because I'm still on chapter 2 and I been Dien for a long time so they need to stop telling them lies I was really talking to the one who say it was easy if it's that easy I'll pay you to come do mean no joking
Getting the S+ on professional mode will give you extreme migraines and improper sleep, after getting s+, you got severe mild stroke
For me it was just trial and error, I saved every 2 chapters and if I didn't like the time I got ending a chapter I start over, a teacher once told me struggling is good because that is the first step to learning. So I just pushed till I got the S+ rank, probably lost some hairs but was worth it in the end
Excellent tips. Multiple playthroughs of these games benefits massively towards prep for the hardest modes.
This works because you can Bait and hit and then follow and hit and restart w/out worrying about taking any damage from them
And fun fact about Salazar, if you get the golden egg in Salazars throne room and hit him with it, it will take out 70% of his health and then you just need to pop him like crazy
2 golden eggs kills him
Thank you.

@14:08 you can also shoot the back of the statues head where there’s the red box to blow it up
One of the best skips is the door glitch which cuts out the whole wrecking ball/ sewer section.

That fight worried me too.
What I've noticed in this game is if you shoot the legs off the enemies, their Plagas don't pop out.
you can use chicago sweeper and still get S+ rank on professional? And you don't need a rocket launcher for Salazar. You just need to carry two golden eggs and two shot him with eggs. You can save a rocket for Verdugo or the mines section with Luis you can blow it up and skip the two chainsaws and skip the TNT. Or use it on the two Gigantes
I rather save the rocket for the final boss if I can
Chicago Sweeper depends. As far as i know only for some unlocks u cant use bonus weapons (handcannon i think) but u can still get all ranks
This is confusing. So can you or can you not use the sweeper for S+ rank?
you forgot to mention the primal knife will make runs easy too since it never breaks you get infinite counters
Verdugo fight I recommend just waiting out the time and tnt is worth getting. I recommend using it on Sadler plus he’s the last boss.
@@brandondunkin5816 I never said anything about not using it on Saddler btw
Handcanon can be unlocked by ranking S on 3 stages in mercenaries compared to what the challenge says.
Now thats what i call a turn around moment in life
Don't fight the dog to have spinels, instead do the blue medalions at castle entrance it gives you enough to buy the tcket and have infinite chicago to begin the castle, less risky and you save ammo for the house defense.
I have seen the laser pass but I don't feel confident enough to do it. I still can't get over the golden egg.
my watch later is flooded w re4 content. thank you creators for making it seem accessible for us average players
Thank you for watching.
Captain pedantic here. That would be a 2-shot.
Thanks for saying what the skip is you fucking retard
Great walkthrough brother. One note is that Ashley can die with armored suit on if they get to her in the crane. Unfortunate experience of mine lol!
You can no clip through the wall at the top of the ladder in the church to leave Ashley inside and not have to worry about her
15:07 the bottom of that guy’s body just took a seat in the air.😂
You can also unlock the handcannon by getting an S ranking in all 3 maps in Mercenaries mode with ONE character (As in, all 3 S ranks have to be with the same character. I used Krauser because he's the most OP one, but it doesn't really matter which character you choose. WAY easier than playing the entire story again.)
I got S rank with different characters (one for each map) and still unlocked the handcannon
Now with Mercenaries you can unlock the Handcannon easily. Might be a good alternative to the Tommy Gun since it too has infinite ammo
Tried it but went back to the chicago. Handcannon aim is way too unreliable and you end up taking longer killings groups than if you were to just spray everything with the chicago
It’s actually a horrible weapon
@@biddlybongwong it is good but it’s inaccurate as all hell
@@biddlybongwong Perhaps for you. I have mine fully upgraded with infinite ammo and it's awesome. Just don't move and aim at the same time.

6:42 The 30 one is there too though lol
9:03 You can take out the rest of the enemies before you trigger the dog.
I spit out my coffee when bro blew the viper away with the magnum
This really gave me a lot of confidence actually go for it at some point soon! Still doing a lot of the preparation work
Thank you friend. Liked and subscribed. Loving this remake! ❤❤❤🎉

"It costs a lotta PEETAHS!"
So when you die quit back to the main menu reload and the time will be set back I didn’t know this
This video is very helpful YOU SIR ARE A LEGEND
Glad it helped.
I tried killing it with guns for perhaps two hours before finally doing melee, and it was a joke.
haha love that, ''live em, love em , learn em''... subbed 999th
Thanks for the video, it gave a lot of helpful advice. I'm on my first ng+ round on professional, going for the Chicago. After that it's HC for the armor and then the cat ears :)
You can actually get the armor and sweeper together if you beat professional mode fast enough.
@@erzatitaniawins Good point.
I should be able to hit professional at sub 5h without too much of an issue. After all, since it's ng+ I can save as much as I want. Only thing I'm missing out on is the ears.

How about we unlock the exclusive upgrade for handcannon as it has more firepower. Wouldn't it be more easier?
The Ramon statue has an explosive barrel in its head so just pop it right as your going up the stairs.
Personally I used the assault rifle directly at the parasite and dead in seconds
With Luis when u have to get the TNT .. I skipped getting it and that whole fight section by rocket launching the boulders

Pretty much, yeah. I do exactly what I see them doing in the videos and it just never works. I can't even reliably get TO the village...

Up to the mut is all that matters. Once you have the sweeper fully upgrade it and your golden. Maybe get one extra durability in a knife for first krouser fight.
There is a away to load the game without going all the way to the main menu. You can have another save and the load that one and then reload the run your on and it resets
very helpful guide! one question, cant people just use the exclusive ticket dlc from the steam store now for the typewriter upgrade? lol
Well now they can. They can even earn the handcannon easier with the mercenaries.
A tip for the extra gabadoa use the mines for the bolt thrower they just take it die and don't aggro
Great video, thanks for putting it together :)
Thank you.
Having the “boss” wolf before the cabin really caught me out ..
I didn’t have much supplies in the first place but I wasted so much on the wolf ..
Correct me If I'm wrong
First playthrough to unlocked the infinite rocket
Second playthrough to unlock the Ashley's armor
Third playthrough to play on professional so I can unlock The sweeper? (I can use the infinite rocket and the armor here on this playthrough)
Where do we get the cat ear I have to do another professional with no bonus weapons?
My confusion is between the Cannon and the ears, can you clarify on that
The cat ears is what you earn by completing Professional on S+ mode. The handcannon can know be earned in mercenaries by getting an s rank on all maps know making it easier.
Now that the handcannon is unlockable in Mercenaries, is it a better option than the Sweeper? I've got both, so which one should I use?
I would go with the handcannon.
Do you got any tips for the Chapter 10 Ganado room? I have hella issues with that chapter, its every time
Garrador room**
I'm assuming you have the sweeper with infinite ammo but I have always tried to let the Garrador's do my work for me by putting ganado's between me and them so when I shoot them they bump into the ganado's and attack them and then proceed to run around to the other side of the room while taking some shots at the Garradors.
very in-depth guide, finally! thank you my guy🤙
No problem!
My tip to make the Savage Mutt quest easier is to shoot it with whatever weapon until it's back splits, then toss a flash to get a ton of damage and the first stab easy, then shoot just hammer it with rounds.
I highly recommend saving every 2-3 chapters, after chapter 4ish. A lot of memorising and trying.
I actually started to attempt this (only trophys left are the 2 S+ and all weapons) but after learning the 15 save rule this just not sound enjoyable at all. So i’m not sure I’m going to bother.
It's not fun at all but its doable even without infinite ammo and skips. But the requirement makes it difficult.
@@TheMonarchX oh i’m not denying its doable lol. Just doesn’t sound like something enjoyable to do so don’t see myself bothering lol. I like the game too much so why make myself never want to play it again lol
If you use the bolt thrower with attachable mines against the mutt you can stun and stab him until it dies, I only needed six mines
the clock tower, the statue has a small keg in the back of his head, you can shoot that with the pistol and destroy it easily.
You can also use the handcannon you get from the mercenary mode i believe.
Actually I had over 24hrs on my play through on professional and still unlocked the handcannon. So as long as no bonus weapons are used and not going for S+, you can take all the time you want.
All things aside it's cute how you call Mendez - Menendez. That CoD memory talking, right? 😁
That's exactly the reason why lol. Raul Menendez, The History you didn't know outside Black Ops 2.
I go with the load game when I die and the time stops. What do you think?
If you die you must exit to the menu then load up the game again otherwise the time you die will be added on if you continue right after you died.

How you upload 144P 60fps with HDR?..

Can you tell the difference in professional mode with the chicken hat? Also, my issue with professional mode is the village and the mine cart ride.
