@@attila0323 A lot of times producers prefer this. For example, the writers and directors won't fight back when the executives ask for changes that don't make sense for the IP.
The thing that kills me about the "they didn't watch WandaVision" narrative is that it totally ignores that Elizabeth Olsen is there. On set. Just ask her if it makes sense.
No fucking kidding, I get the impression Olsen actually cares about the characters she plays, no doubt in my mind she would have gladly correct the issues with her character handling.
@@chaosgeneration Absolutely true, but it is something that needs to change sometimes. There is DEF actors that get a lil say in their characters, and I cannot think of a better situation than Marvel for that to work well, especially when characters are getting passed from Director to Director, write to writer etc. What better way to maintain a consistent character logic than by allowing the actor or actress play a large part in helping maintain consistent character arcs and the like.
She did talk to them about it during filming. Asked if they’d seen WandaVision and the answer was no. She explained Wanda’s arc in WandaVision and wasn’t able to convince them that they were messing up her character.
I work in the auto industry. I was working for a company with a terrible service manager. We had everything we needed to succeed, but she wanted to do things her way. That dealership has a 3 star rating.
The fact that the person writing the screenplay didn’t watch the prior source material is insane. I know we all love Feige, but he dropped the ball hard and should have to answer for some of these obvious blunders.
To me it just shows how many people either didn't watch or forgot about Agents of Shield. The whole Ghost Rider season was about how the Darkhold corrupts anyone that uses it so the post credit scene does set up Wandavision up to be in line with Multiverse of Madness. They just needed to make things clearer for the general audience in the movie.
@@mightheal Pretty sure Feige doesn't consider any MCU property that he didn't work on to be a part of the main universe, that includes AoS. That's why the Darkhold from AoS and Runaways looks complete different from the book Wanda gets.

Yeah the og script sounds so much better not just for Wanda’s arc but also for Strange who seemed really nerfed in his movie for the Sorcerer Supreme (even though he technically wasn’t the SS anymore) and Wong getting beheaded would’ve given Strange a reason to see the dark hold had really taken her and she was beyond saving
@@cay4ord, but from Beau's "original draft," it's just repacked MOM, but with a Wanda villain tease? I'm sorry, but if THAT'S how she became villain, I'd rather it be done off-screen. Also, why would he know anything, MOM? He never once touched that film.
@@Blazecap if you actually watched Wanda Vision and this video you’d know why it was important for her arc considering she already did the bad and was trying to save her kids not kidnap them, and like they already mentioned in the video above, fans wouldn’t be left wondering why and how that all happens cos she would’ve worked with Strange while the dark hold took over her. Maybe u need to rewatch the video
@@cay4ord@cay4ord I did, and I don't like this draft for reasons I have already mentioned. I'm also not keen on taking the word from a writer who was fired by Disney and had no involvement with MOM production.
Learning all of this REALLY annoys me. Why the EF Writers and Directors give SO little $#!TS about the previous continuity in a SHARED UNIVERSE makes NO EFFING SENSE!!!
@thealjohnsonshow2188 How did it make sense that she made a mistake due to her grief, caused innocents to suffer, went through a character arc to accept her losses, and then became crazy off screen due to some book. She even went through a sped up version of the same arc in MoM. The movie was bad
WandaVision helped me process the grief of my family member who passed away during that time. Multiverse of Madness felt like a betrayal of the depth & integrity of that show.
Feige would have known what happened in WandaVision AND have approved the Dr Strange script. They just screwed up and told the SAME story twice - Wanda goes crazy and tries to redeem herself. Which is a shame, because they completely undermined her as a hero. She could have led the new Avengers. Now she’s a loose cannon that you can’t trust
@@rrcortez8561 did we watch the same movies? In Age of Ultron she was a traumatized and brainwashed young person, who as soon as she realized the truth, changed sides to join the heroes and worked as an Avenger from then on.
The worst part of what they did to Wanda was to burn the possibility of doing a future House of M story. Doing that now would just be obvious repetition.
@@mightheal They can, but they shouldn't. If they do it after this, the character is basically going to be fully toxic. After Wandavision and Multiverse of Madness, House of M would be just re-telling the story of an insane individual who has to be put down. Why wasn't Baron Mordo the main villain? He's Doctor Strange's main villain, he's played by a great actor, and he was set up in the first movie. Marvel is so focused on their movies being these big events sometimes that the actual star of the movie gets lost.
@@ISEEYOUgonefree-mv3lf They should have had a Wanda Movie showing her corruption because of the darkhold, her increase in power from it, and the entity Chthon behind it all.
Reason one: Marvel end credit scenes don't mean anything anymore. Reason two: Doctor Strange wasn't owned by Sony. If the IP had been, they'd have done the second movie earlier. Reason three: after defeating Dormammu on his first outing, Baron Mordo isn't that much.
It’s crazy how it’s a Doctor Strange movie and all they’re still talking about is Scarlet Witch lol. She’s big enough to have gotten her own movie by that point.
Have you forgotten how long we had to wait for a Black Widow movie and that was a prequel since her character sacrificed herself in ENDGAME. The mcu has less regard for its female characters than evangelical republicans have for women in general.

@@DavidStowers-o7k I have news for you. Marvel doesn't have any regard for its male characters either. At least not since the end of the Infinity Saga. They should have given Wanda her own movie but instead did a bait and switch with Doctor Strange.
@@scarbrow01 Doctor Strange with a heart cell to begin with because his common books has been canceled multiple times within the last 3 to 4 decades. He never actually had a big audience for one and his movie didn’t do that. Well as much as people try to pedal that narrative that movie was a box of success. It wasn’t because it took nearly 6 years to get a sequel. They made the audience about him by incorporating him in films and having a cameo in Thor But yeah
That would have been so much better. They could have shown how the Darkhold was corrupting her throughout it and in the end have the real Wanda astrally appear to Strange and plead for help. But it could have even started the same way, that America didn't realize Wanda was trying to help her seeing her as a kind of witch and feeling the need to start a coven. I just hope that Jac maybe writes a exposition dump in Agatha that actually helps this all. She seemed mad too about this and I could see the redemption arc starting there because Billy knows what he wants.
Even gorr didn't kill childrens for his daughter's revenge, this is so messed, wanda cried and felt burden when she accidentally blasted people in civil war and literally killed her love for universe and again vanished her family for others and suddenly she is on the way to kill a girl and steal children from her own 🥲🥲 bro she is a mother
Gorr's kidnapping children to lure Thor goes against his own ethos. If gods like Thor don't care, which is his thesis, then he won't come, so it proves he's right, but then what was the point and what does he do with the kids? If Thor cares, then he'll come to their rescue so he's wrong and shouldn't kill Thor.
@@sandal_thong8631I know you probably mean this constructively, but just for the sake of the conversation, we are aware that there’s a difference between kidnapping and murder, yes?
that post-credit scene was AWFUL. Two scenes in a row of Strange happily walking down the street and something happens????? Talk about 'not watching Wandavision'. They didn't even watch how the movie they were making ended.
what's weird is that they ignore most/all of Wanda Vision but keep the kids thing, which one would NEED TO WATCH WANDA VISION in order to understand. Such a strange choice. lol
I think at this point in the MCU, it is negligence and criminal to hire important roles like screen writers and directors who has NOT watched any of the previous movies and doesn’t understand the continuity of the universe. At this point, the producers really only care about grabbing cash and not telling good stories
Exactly. The reason fans LOVED the MCU (& not DCEU or any other movie franchise with their own universe) was because the MCU displayed continuity that MADE SENSE & respected the continuity. Now it's irredeemable.
Just another example of late stage capitalism ruining something that used to be wonderful. All of this makes the RDJ as Doom announcement seem even more like they're grasping at cash straws...
Yeah I think people need to stop bootlicking Feige. He makes these decisions. He's the one dropping that ball. He's the one who knows what will happen in the end of Wandavision and approved the script. And he's the one who got sole control of Marvel Studios after Endgame. Previously he shared the role with the Marvel Creative Committee (which yes, had Perlmutter, who sucks. But it also had comic writers like Brian Michael Bendis on it and other people). I would also like to point out that all the shows and movies that were green lit were in pre-production before Chapek showed up. Blaming him for everything makes no sense.
@@brookeelliott7549 Agreed. As much as I despise what Waldron did to this film’s script Kevin is not blameless in the situation. But then again, I also think Waldron was either in some sort of relationship with Feige or he had dirt on Feige he was blackmailing him with so what do I know?
The only problem I had with it is not having ANY explanation of just how completely the Darkhold corrupts the user. I have the same complaint in Star Wars regarding accepting the Dark Side into your soul. It's glossed over in both instances, and some exposition would go a long way.

I'll die on the hill that this film could be amazing if it gave her a real motive to be a villain like showing that they actually had other options without giving Thanos the time stone, but that was the only way Christine would live
@@Chillbro-f just as the What If episode which is the best Doctor Strange story to date, also he caused an incursion and possibly the end of more than one universe so he's not necessarily the upmost hero

Ever notice SINCE ENDGAME there has been several rumors of other avengers who were suppose to die like Antman, wong, and others and for some reason every one of those decision were overturned…. WHY???
$$$$, probably. easier to pump out a third movie of a franchise within a franchise than to come up with all new content and deciding what other marvel characters to make a movie out of.
Marvel does this with all their villains. It’s such a bummer. I wish they would continue to build them through other projects and even have them interact
@@ctkook6477 imagine if we got like a proper masters of evil movie(s), they probably wouldnt call them that as a group but just seeing villains team up like that would've been pretty great
I think they expected people to have seen Shang Chi. The wall in Ta Lo spoke to Wenwu the same way the Darkhold spoke to Wanda. Like exactly the same. It pretended to be a loved one to coax you into doing its bidding. Maybe it was too subtle but it seemed clear to me. I don't think it's possible to redeem yourself depressed with a vice and no support group. As a Wanda Stan, I agree OG MoM sounds way more poignant… but Mommy still ATE. Sam Raimi brought out Elizabeth Olsen’s best acting performance by far… who knew?
In my opinion they should have had Dr Strange 2 be the ending of Phase 4, and used it to connect a lot of loose plot points from other projects. I’ve been working on an idea for a rewritten script, it’s just an idea, but here’s what I thought of: Dr Strange is exhausted after the events of Endgame. Protecting the universe from large scale threats all to come back 5 years later and no longer being Sorcerer Supreme makes him feel purposeless. He considers going back to surgery, and meets up with Christine who reveals that she’s engaged. Mordo tracks him down, and tries to kill him. Mordo is considerably more powerful due to his experience killing many sorcerers, but he is also channeling the power of the cosmic being of Order. This allows him to somewhat cancel out Strange’s magic, making his assault mostly physical. Strange escapes, and goes to Wanda for help. He finds out that Wanda’s been reading the Darkhold, and hits her astral form out of her body. She immediately recovers, and they have an epic fight. Wanda nearly overpowers Strange with her telekinesis and telepathy, but Strange uses the Eye of Agamotto to disrupt Wanda’s focus, and several ritual spells to restrain her. Wanda manages to break free by warping reality. Wanda reveals to Strange that she is only trying to save her sons from another reality. Dr Strange agrees to help her only if she gives him the Darkhold. Wanda agrees. Eventually, some TVA agents come to arrest Dr Strange. Strange beats them, but realizes he can infiltrate the TVA so he can have access to alternate realities. He finds out the TVA(who can no longer see the future after Sylvie killed Kang and created the Multiverse) wanted to restrain Strange to prevent him from stopping the apocalypse. This apocalypse is of course the Scarlet Witch prophecy. Wanda will be more like an anti-hero who helps Strange for most of the movie, but is still focused on saving her kids. Wanda resorts to using the forbidden magic in the Darkhold to create a bridge between the reality her sons are in to Earth 616. This other reality is essentially a Hellish void where all banished souls are sent, and where Billy & Tommy’s souls went after Wanda took down the Hex. This is also the reality where Chthon was banished eons ago. By the end, Wanda becomes dangerously powerful and unstable, believing her sons are dead, and Dr Strange has to stop her. Strange is given the opportunity to jump to another universe and replace that version of Strange after he got into the accident so he can live a happy normal life with Christine, but he chooses to save our universe instead. Wong traps Wanda in the mirror dimension to contain her, but she breaks free. Wanda starts unintentionally warping reality around her, and the final showdown between her and Strange isn’t a fight, but rather a conversation. He calms her down, and as she comes to her senses, she destroys the Darkhold, severing the Chthon’s connection to Earth, and leaves to an unknown location. I was also thinking he could explore new interesting universes, meet with Loki or Clea, and maybe end with Wanda somehow becoming temporarily depowered.

I’m not even joking about this, but years ago before Doctor Strange 2 was announced, I had a dream that Nightmare was going to be the main villain and he was going to be an evil Doctor Strange variant. Almost all of the leaks here are accurate to what I dreamt of several years ago. That's freaky.
It’s ironic that the multiverse saga seems less interwoven than the infinity saga was. Marvel if you want a connected cinematic universe, your writes need to be connecting together to get this shit done right
the simple fact is. you could take the evil variant strange and replace him with wanda, ignore the darkhold she has, ignore her wanting to find children, just him wanting to take chavez' power to get more power via the multiverse and/or escape the realms he destroyed, and it would have worked. and what if already introduced him/another variant of him.
I can make sense of the movie, personally. Maybe the Darkhold corrupted Wanda so thoroughly that she didn't care about what she did to reunite with her children, and only seeing her children resist her made her realise her mistakes.
but we don't see this corruption. we see her start to read it in WV non-corrupted, but in MoM she is full corruption with no transition between the two. even as a villain we didn't see her path the way we have other villians. could have had a short montage/time lapse of her getting to the point of wanting to kill america.
In the same way that there’s a redemption arc, it has its inverse corruption arc. If they had properly set up the degree of the darkhold’s corruption, then sure, but this just felt sloppy, honestly more suited for a “what if…” story. “What if Wanda went fucking nuts?”
If we can get "extended" versions to show Wanda's slipping into madness in Multiverse of Madness, and add a little more seriousness and Gorr screen time to Thor 4, we'd have two much more fleshed out movies that set up other stories much better. I would have much more preferred the original script though, but I would have cried till I threw up losing Wong like that.
The perfect connection with Wandsvision would have been Wanda asking Strange for help for she can hear her unborn children shouting for help from a different dimension
In the end credits scene of Wandavision, as short as the scene was, it explained a lot by showing Wanda split into two entities. The good reformed Wanda at the end of the show and the Wanda that embraced the darkhold. So I always understood that she could go either way and wasn’t surprised she was in her evil phase at the beginning of the movie.
What they did with Wandas character is the main reason this is just an okay movie for me. This script sounds so much better. After Wandavision, Wanda was one of the most interesting characters in the MCU… then they undid it all in one movie.
I dont think Wanda killing Mordo would've been a good idea. It would've been a waste of Mordo's arc at the end of the first Doctor Strange movie. I hope he returns in Doctor Strange 3 and be an antagonist like he should be. Though i will agree that Nightmare wouldve made a better villian than Wanda, even though i enjoyed the film.
The original script was way better from stage one. Due to the fact derekson already killed it on strange 1 and knew what he was doing. Marvel made a huge mistake with not trusting him.
It's one of my all time favourite scenes. It's just so classically magical, and executed so thoroughly, I watched this 5 times in theater (AMC a list just for it and everything everywhere all at once) and was captivated every time.
Wanda was a villain at the end of Wandavision. She was using the most evil item in the Marvel universe to search for kids who were not hers. Every time I hear this argument I have to wonder what people were watching. Did you finish Wandavision and think, "Boy. Wanda really learned a lesson there. Glad she redeemed herself. Can't wait to see her teamed up with the Avengers again."?
It’s more so that they skipped over so much. Like what makes the darkhold so bad? Wanda has a chapter in it they could’ve further explored why and how the book gets you. Instead we are just told “Oh she evil now”

I took my daughter to see The Flash opening weekend based largely on Colton's review. During the baby scene, I turned to her and said "I'm sorry. This is not at ALL what I was expecting." Not the worst movie I have ever seen but I really can't understand how anyone could have watched even an unfinished cut and given such a glowing recommendation. It was not good.

9:28 That draft honestly makes just as little sense. At least in what we got it could explained that the darkhold influencing Wanda’s actions is what caused her rampage.
Not really because to me one of the big problems I have with this movie was it's don't feel like a Doctor Strange movie but a Wanda movie and this not really help it's yes you got one of his villains in the movie but it's don't feel like a Doctor strange movie.
Should have been doctor strange vs mordo variants, like they teased. Wanda shouldn’t have even been in it, at least not as the bad guy. Her arc was completed after wandavision, just for her story to be reopened and completed in a worse way
@@adp6255 I hardly stand most vids written by him I swear all of them sound like bad fan fic summaries that try to shove and jam puzzle pieces where they don't fit
Fun Fact: The two songs that play when both Stranges are fighting each other with musical notes are Toccata and Fugue in D Minor and Symphony No 5. Which were the first songs in Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 respectively.
There are SO many stories we could have gone with for Doctor Strange 2, and instead they chose "Scarlet Witch featuring Doctor Strange." It's not a sequel to Doctor Strange, it's its own film. I was excited for an _actual_ sequel, which the original concept would have been. Shoulda stuck with focusing on Strange. 😮💨
her reading the Darkhold at the end of Wandavision let me know right there and then that Wanda was gonna be the villain in Dr. Strange 2. it didnt come out of left field for me but i see it did for many fans and thats because the Darkhold had no real backstory in WV.... it could have been better explained that reading from the book is what drives the readers into villianous territory. had that been explained better than people wouldnt have had as much of an issue with her as the villain. most comic fans that were familiar with the darkhold knew what to expect but MCU/Cartoon only fans didnt understand what happened and at most points were the most vocal against Dr. Strange 2. honestly my only issue with the movie was that Wanda should have gotten a solo movie right after and her villain arc should have carried over into it and thats where her villain arc should have ended.
Seeing Wanda with the darkhold gave me the feeling she was going to be corrupted by it. I didn’t really expect her to keep on a good path with that swirling in her head.
@@mightheal oh I did watch it. It’s just my theory that Wanda is the mythical Scarlet Witch who uses chaos magic. The creator of the darkhold is the Chthon who uses chaos magic. So theoretically speaking, the book shouldn’t affect her.
I've never understood the confusion between scarletvision and the movie. She used the darkhold to try and see her children again and the darkhold corrupts all who uses it. it's just that simple to me.

@@HypocritesExposd did they have to mention that? They mention the book was made by a demon and it's called the DARK... HOLD. So we can infer it likely has a HOLD on the user leading to DARKNESS
@@HypocritesExposd They do mention the evil Dr. Strange was corrupted by it but you have to watch Agents of Shield Ghost RIder season to get the full story about how the Darkhold corrupts.
This was my immediate reaction after seeing Madness in theaters. I loved Wandavision, and they just ignored such a great character arc. I feel vindicated by the leak about the main villains, who would face Strange and Wanda. I know there was more to the leak, but I thought that adding another villain or even a main villain controlling Wanda through the Dark Hold would've been tolerable. Make Wanda appear to the be the villain but then find out her pain from losing her children gets manipulated by someone like Nightmare or Sinister Strange. It wasn't a bad movie, but one of the most disappointing for me.
Really Multiverse of Madness is fixed by watching Agents of Shield the Ghost Rider season either before or after Wandavision since that season is all about the Darkhold and how it corrupts. Agents of Shield is in the same boat as the Netflix Marvel shows where it's canon but due to company politics they don't acknowledge it until they're forced to due so.
Nightmare was the way to go. Except for killing Wong. That would be too much like Strange killing Wong to become Sorcerer Supreme. And after being S.S. for 5 years, Wong should know how to defend himself against Nightmare. But maybe Strange has brain damage from seeing 14 million futures, so he's forgotten to put spells to protect his mind from psychic attack.
She used the dark hold and got corrupted. Agree that there should have been more emphasis on the corruptive power of the dark hold. Maybe cast chthon's disembodied voice.
I’ve always thought that they could have given her more time before the reveal to smooth out the transition. Bring her to Lamar-taj, have another monster attack, realize Wanda isn’t helping much, turns out her astral projection form is puppeteering the monster with the darkhold in a separate room- like at the end of Wandavision. Confrontation between them all where she feels bad but is desperate. Whispers from the darkhold give her false clarity. Batta bing, batta boom. More nuanced character
People make too big a deal of the WandaVision / MVOM disconnect. When we leave Wanda she’s studying the dark hold… which can corrupt (make people do things they normally wouldn’t) when we see Wanda again, she’s corrupted (SURPRISE!) and acting out of character (SURPRISE!) do we really need to be spoon fed the process of her being corrupted? Also killing Wong and leaving into the multiverse and then probably not seeing her again for years, sounds dumb.
The problem is that Wandavision was about Wanda realizing that her actions were wrong and that she was hurting others for her own gain. It ends with her wanting to figure out more about her powers and trying to control herself so that the same doesn't happen again. It leaves the possibility that she may become corrupted, but that she's trying not to. MoM just tells you that she got corrupted offscreen. The problem with that is that it skips over the interesting corruption arc that we could have seen throughout the movie, and instead just makes her go through what is essentially the same sort of arc that she just went through in Wandavision but in a way that's way more irredeemable and insane, and the only redeeming point is that the darkhold is affecting her. But it's literally just a magical book that we never really go deep into its mechanics or purpose. Dr Strange also uses it in the movie and is literally fine by the end. Agatha also seemed not be absolutely insane and crazy evil in Wandavision, so the writing around what the darkhold does isn't even consistent, and therefore pinning this massive character shift that was skipped over offscreen on this book alone makes it extremely unsatisfying to watch. Sure you can say that it makes sense as a progression, but it's just simply not satisfying in any storytelling sense.

And to just let one person completely sway how a character is depicted especially when said character is having a whole series about them that's meant to take place beforehand. Strange was supposed to originally also be in WandaVision and I wonder if the changes to MOM is why he didn't show up. Which if he had it would have solved some of the critics about how the Avengers just kind of forgot about Wanda. I just am so confused why they were willing to tank an entire character arc for what equated to just....a spooky villian, and the tired "woman is too emotional to have big powers" trope.
It bothers me that people still saying that multiverse of madness setback Wanda's character development from Wandavision, cause it makes it feel that characters will have that exact struggling arc and then they will have a redemption and stay good forever, Wich isn't not the case on the comics, and absolutely isn't the case for Wanda in the comics, her struggle on Wandavision was one thing, her struggle on multiverse of madness is another, for another reason, with the influence of the darkhold using the feelings she had deep down and her fragility, and her using of the darkhold after Wandavision isn't something that felt forced, she didn't know anything about the scarlet witch and Agatha literally said there was a chapter about it in it, the book just did his thing when she opened it.
This is a fair point that was most definitely overlooked in the video. It does correct the supposed "mischaracterization", but now imagine a Wanda who becomes influenced by the Darkhold while she's participating in the leaked script. I feel as though this would make for a better continuity arc.
I keep saying to fire Feigi and Favreau. I feel like the passion they had Marvel and Star Wars just isn’t there anymore with the cash cowing garbage we keep getting. Did the Mandolorian with the technology from Jungle Book live action which worked for that show but then they just kept putting out every idea that popped in their head. Harry Potter was 4 directors.. 4 different directors. Kevin hiring a guy who hasn’t watched Wandavision and saying ya sure, do whatever is wild. Need to hire Mauls voice actor from Clone Wars and make him the head of Star Wars and hire my guy from Screencrush to head Marvel because they’re the most qualified. You asked around 8:00 if the original plot would have saved Marvel from the growing disappointment from its fan base and I say not at all. You already said yourself you had fun watching the movie and loved some of the sequences. That’s what a film should be at the least, so it did that, it gave us a fun couple hours of escapism. Dr.Strange not as problematic as She Hulk, Hawkeye, the Eternals (which I had a reallllly hard time believing what I was seeing in theaters and the sex scene…bruh what 😂), and Secret Invasion.
I think Wanda starting off as a villain in the beginning of MVOM says more about the Darkhold and how it can corrupt. We see that personified with multiple Dr. Stranges’
The problem was the heel turn seemed so abrupt to many in the audience it gave them whiplash, because the corruption was "told, not shown," and just saying the Darkhold did it without seeing it develop at all on screen made her just look psychopathic and irredeemable to many as opposed to under the influence of evil.
@@phineassss4901 Not always, for instance Doctor Strange didn't get corrupted instantly when he used it in the 80s. Still, comics benefit from the use of art, dialogue, narration.and even thought bubbles (back when the Darkhold was introduced), so everything including internal thoughts and motivations can all be spelled out on the page. Movies are different
Love the original script. It was more faithful to wanda's agency... the MoM though was fun to watch by itself. But there were a lot of scenes that were out of place. Like the music fight, the crawling out of the mirror, ETC! It was just so disconnected from wanda MCU was building up for a long time.
I get the desire for Wanda to be sympathetic to America because her powers were also abused but even IRL trauma begets more trauma. People who are hurt hurt people.
People it’s very simple. Wanda came to terms with what she done but the book corrupted her that’s how you fix that situation she’s not actually evil she didn’t do it because this was just what she wanted to do or anything the book compelled her
I would’ve loved to see Wanda and Chavez form a mentor/mentee relationship. - There was also a missed opportunity for Wanda and Strange have a fun dynamic as powerful magic users. The DSMOM we got did Wanda DIRTY. I know Elizabeth’s back was KILLING her bc of how much she carried that movie. This movie tarnished Wanda’s character.
8:25 I remember looking forward to MoM the most when it was just one of several movies coming down the pipeline way before Endgame. The whiplash from the lack of continuity with Wanda’s character and the different multiverse logic from Endgame and Loki in the movie.. it just popped a bubble for me and I checked out of the MCU after that.
Her growth was perfect from WandaVision, Although she was a hero last minute, she was already corrupted by the Darkhold; what she wanted, craved the most was family. She was already infiltrated
Wanda is a villain at the end of Wanda Vision. Ask anyone from the town if she’s a hero. They didn’t see their children Etc. I don’t think it was a turn.
They are all missing the point at the end of Wandavision that she got "the Darkhold" and it was stated " the darkhold can corrupt a person's mind. There is no need for a build up for anything. When it was perfectly stated. Why is everyone missing this massive point?????
Having no build up is really anticlimactic even if it makes narrative sense. Are you not going to complain if the protagonist in a war movie dies with no build up or resolution to their story? That’s as realistic as it gets but nobody does that because it’s not a good story.
Cargill and Derrickson could have really kept writing for Marvel and I think the fans would have been better served. Hahahaha, I love that nod, that line 'I'm about to make a name for myself,' ScreenCrush.
Honestly, i don't like that. That was what I predicted Doctor Strange 2 to be when it was announced Wanda will be in it. That it would be Strange and Wanda teaming up to fight Nightmare but at the end, Wanda will break and become evil and that will be the cliffhanger to set up a Scarlet Witch movie. So I was pleasantly surprised when Scarlet Witch was just straight up the villaim from the start. Its unexpected and unformulaic. I like it
Feige had a plan for the Multiverse saga but it was beaten to death by the sack of monkey wrenchs that was A: the pandemic B: a mojor actor death ( RIP Chadwick) C: a mojor actor scandal (goodbye Kang) D: introduction of a new distribution format E: 2 industry stricks F: too much executive interference. I am sure there is more I am forgetting about.
My boy Colton coming through with a good take, that music battle was pure ass! Absolutely hated that scene, I laughed at how corny it was at the time but couldn't help but be upset by how lackluster it was by the end of that scene
The writers of Multiverse of Madness DID NOT watch the Emmy-nominated WANDAVISION! There is absolutely NO other explanation for this disastrous misstep! Disney and Kevin Feige must have completely abandoned ship-no care, no attention to the universe they once so carefully crafted. It's an unforgivable oversight, and there is NO EXCUSE for this! It’s an utter failure on every level! As a diehard MCU fan, I finally understand why so many have soured on this franchise. This mistake is too massive to ignore-an insult to everything the MCU stood for!
How are you going to put on screen Wanda reading the darkhold at the end of WandaVision, then show Wanda in that field talking to strange when IN that conversation Strange says that it corrupts everyone who reads it, THEN show a family guy GIF/Clip wondering how she’s the villain from the jump??? You literally answer your own questions 😭 her reading the darkhold turned her evil..
Truly frustrating. I expect better from someone who watches hours and hours of movies. Wanda is as she is in the comics, OP, unstable, and irresponsible

To me it just shows how many people either didn't watch or forgot about Agents of Shield.

Why wasn't Baron Mordo the main villain? He's Doctor Strange's main villain, he's played by a great actor, and he was set up in the first movie. Marvel is so focused on their movies being these big events sometimes that the actual star of the movie gets lost.
Bc he would've easily been ended by Wanda. It was in the drafts or whatever that she decapitated him

It wasn’t because it took nearly 6 years to get a sequel.
They made the audience about him by incorporating him in films and having a cameo in Thor
But yeah
That would have been so much better. They could have shown how the Darkhold was corrupting her throughout it and in the end have the real Wanda astrally appear to Strange and plead for help. But it could have even started the same way, that America didn't realize Wanda was trying to help her seeing her as a kind of witch and feeling the need to start a coven. I just hope that Jac maybe writes a exposition dump in Agatha that actually helps this all. what's weird is that they ignore most/all of Wanda Vision but keep the kids thing, which one would NEED TO WATCH WANDA VISION in order to understand.
As a Wanda Stan, I agree OG MoM sounds way more poignant… but Mommy still ATE. Sam Raimi brought out Elizabeth Olsen’s best acting performance by far… who knew?
The film was Mid, though but seeing Wanda in action was awesome but wish they gave her character more time to transition into a villain
@@sammchunu7893 agreed!
I would say Sam Raimi tried to save MoM but the script must be followed.
@@sammchunu7893 I feel like the only thing that sold the story was Elizabeth Olsen's acting.
@@bitxhcraft absolutely 💯
In my opinion they should have had Dr Strange 2 be the ending of Phase 4, and used it to connect a lot of loose plot points from other projects.
I’ve been working on an idea for a rewritten script, it’s just an idea, but here’s what I thought of:
Dr Strange is exhausted after the events of Endgame.
Sounds awful

Wanda: you break the rules and you're a hero.
Illuminati: you're the most dangerous thing in the multiverse Strange, and we thought that before you tortured that pizza vendor.
Wanda: I do it, and I'm a villain.
Illuminati: please stop murdering us lady so we can help yo...🎈💭🍝
Right!?
Famous last words: "We're not afraid of the Scarlet Witch."
I won’t say MOM is perfect but this drafts sounds just as bad
Nightmare should be it's own character @@Blazecap
@@lazyvoid7107 not in these drafts
"better" is strech and I say this as some who is is lukewarm towards MOM
Some of it is good: Nightmare. Some is bad: beheading Wong.
I dont think this original draft was better.
Can’t believe Colton HATED the music note fight! 😂
I call his entire judgment into question now

@@nailinthefashion I cheered out loud… and I am sick of CGI effects-y fights normally in this genre!
Thank You. She held a town hostage.
It’s more so that they skipped over so much. Like what makes the darkhold so bad? Wanda has a chapter in it they could’ve further explored why and how the book gets you. Instead we are just told “Oh she evil now”

Did you like the original story better?
Yes.
FCK no it was wack
Not really because to me one of the big problems I have with this movie was it's don't feel like a Doctor Strange movie but a Wanda movie and this not really help it's yes you got one of his villains in the movie but it's don't feel like a Doctor strange movie.
Should have been doctor strange vs mordo variants, like they teased. Wanda shouldn’t have even been in it, at least not as the bad guy. Her arc was completed after wandavision, just for her story to be reopened and completed in a worse way

Raimi did his job as a producer it was the writing from his partner that messed up making the movie inconsistent
Strange 2. honestly my only issue with the movie was that Wanda should have gotten a solo movie right after and her villain arc should have carried over into it and thats where her villain arc should have ended.
it had a back story, Agatha said a demon made the book. I don't know what else people needed
Seeing Wanda with the darkhold gave me the feeling she was going to be corrupted by it. I didn’t really expect her to keep on a good path with that swirling in her head.
But we could have had a scene in MoM that showed this; see her become crazed enough to kill a teen, not just mid-chase killing a strange variant
The darkhold was supposed to be her grimoire since it was transcribed by Chthon, the book shouldn’t have corrupted her mind.
nice, you had common sense. Hearing her boys saying help was just them from another reality that she has no business with.
@@naniwa111 You clearly didn't watch Agents of Shield. The Darkhold corrupts everyone that uses it more so the longer they use.
@@mightheal oh I did watch it. It’s just my theory that Wanda is the mythical Scarlet Witch who uses chaos magic. The creator of the darkhold is the Chthon who uses chaos magic. So theoretically speaking, the book shouldn’t affect her.
I feel like everyone forgets the dark hold is controlling wanda and they mention it in the movie. The lack of multiverse is the problem
I kinda would’ve liked if they showed it instead of telling us that the dark hold corrupted us. I still understand though.
Exactly! They should have spent time in the actually multi verse or had more multiversal versions of strange and Wanda
I've never understood the confusion between scarletvision and the movie. She used the darkhold to try and see her children again and the darkhold corrupts all who uses it. it's just that simple to me.
Yeah that’s true. I would’ve liked to have seen her corruption throughout the ds2 movie. I still understand though.

P.S. Madam web is trash and I put it there because it mentioned the web, that’s it.
May god have mercy on the souls of the people that made this movie.
It’s been a long time since I’ve been the show and movie, but did they ever mention that the Darkhold does that?
Agents of Shield is in the same boat as the Netflix Marvel shows where it's canon but due to company politics they don't acknowledge it until they're forced to due so.
they should’ve called it Doctor Strange: Dreams and Nightmares hinting at Dreams for Chavez and Nightmares for …well…Nightmare lol
Great video ScreenCrush. You did a great job with this!
Um, she was reading an evil book
When my gf was watching Multiverse of Madness she was confused that Wanda was a bad guy. Her prior marvel experience was Endgame 1/2 and Wanda Vision.
The comic boox do it all the time bit with movies, people hyperfixate on "show don't tell"

@@e443productions9 🥱 I don’t need to see that.
I honestly thought we might have had an Uno Reverso “NO MORE MUTANTS” moment to include the X-men in the MCU
Justice for Wanda
The OG stroyline was much more interesting than what we got 😭. Oh they fumble big time!
It’s so arrogant to not watch WandaVision and have a ball to write her character. I can’t roll my eyes enough. 🙄
Wow Ryan, that was a close call at 22:00. You almost spilled the beans. Good thing Colton's headphone cut out right then!
@@Mirakulus9 agreed. I loved Wanda’s arc that started in Age of Ultron and came to pass in Wandavision
In the comics, the darkhold has an instant effect. It does not slowly corrupt the user; It corrupts them instantly.
The original script was SO MUCH better I’m crying!
MoM sucked, brother. In a vacuum it wasn’t even good. It wasn’t even a horror movie.
-
There was also a missed opportunity for Wanda and Strange have a fun dynamic as powerful magic users.
Stopped watching the moment Colton turned up. Stop trying to make him a thing.
I like it
I’m disappointed we didn’t get the original, would’ve made the most sense for all the characters.
I don’t think Wandavision set up Wanda as a good guy i thought her villain’s role made sense in MoM
