    Your chairs look so great, that was a good call. Thank you for showing the real time involved in this project. These ideas always sound so simple, but in my world, they take forever, lol. And it's awesome to see somebody who's real about it. You did a fantastic job on them!!

      Thanks so much! It’s definitely a ton of work but the outcome was so worth it in my opinion!

    Wow with all video's that came up for how to paint kitchen chairs, it's crazy that she's doing the same exact chairs. My chairs are brown & white & hers are all brown, but besides the color, they're the same chairs.
    I just started watching the video & I never painted chairs before, so I guessed on white paint to use, & I even bought the same paint she said to use. Great mines think the same. Thank you for sharing your video's!!
    Your chairs look really nice. I might think about doing mine black now.

    I have been painting my dining room chairs which are similar to these. I am a lot older, so it is harder to bend over to do them. I painted the white primer and panicked. It is SO white! I did not have this video at the time. Gray primer may work better if you can get a tinted gray one. I let the primer dry overnight. I am doing one chair at a time. I also panicked when I saw the coverage of the paint I am using. It is Valspar Cabinet and Furniture Paint and it looks like pudding. Very pale and streaky first coat! I painted 4 coats before it began looking well. I may do another coat. This is very particular and time consuming. But now I just love the paint! It seems very durable and I love the color which is a very dark gray- tinted black, (Dark Kettle Black). I used a very finely grained sponge brush. No cheap ones--they streak. It would be better to use the roller, I believe. It would be faster and more even. I will let them dry a week or so before using them. (No kids here!) THANKS for all the tips and video footage!!! I am considering spray painting the bar stool I have as it would save a lot of time, but doubt if it would match. It would be in another area of the room. YOU JUST NEED A LOT OF PATIENCE! HANG IN THERE! IT IS SO WORTH IT!!! I spent about 7 hours just priming and another 5 painting : I mean EACH CHAIR> But I put on a lot more coats and let them dry in between like on the paint directions. I have had them since 1992--ready for a makeover. And Emily--such a beautiful young girl and so talented! Thanks a bunch Emily!

    I seen a couple chips? Did you leave some to look aged? I want to finish mine but did one and quit because it's chipping. I love your table set though it is cute!!

    I literally have those chairs 🪑 but have been so hesitant 😬 to paint them because of the length will be. I have 3 boys so not sure yet, thank you for sharing.

      It's definitely a long process but the finished product is worth it to me. :)

    And were you ultimately happier with the plastic wood fill in method or just the sanding method for the grooves in the beginning? Thanks!

    Hi! Did those chairs have furniture wax on them that you had to remove before you started?

    How many minwaxx spray cans did you have to use?

    Hey! Can you explain why you sprayed the poly instead of painting them a semi-gloss?

      I mainly did it because it was quicker. I needed to get the project done because I had family coming in town for thanksgiving. Painting it on would have taken forever just like it did when I painted them. 😊 the chairs are holding up beautifully but if I had endless time, it’s cheaper and maybe more durable to paint it on.

    Hi there, did you sand the whole chair?

    • @emilyfreyblerhome8332
      @emilyfreyblerhome8332  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I didn't. Only the seat where there were visible scratches. The primer I use is very good and allows for no sanding. If you want to double it up, you could lightly sand the whole thing but it is very time consuming.

    How is the paint holding up?

      Holding up great! There is one little spot on one chair where a heavy backpack was hanging and it wore off a bit. It’ll be an easy sand and paint though
