- One way you can make use of your left over ground meat recipes is by re-using it as a based ingredient for another delicious recipe like this! Far from the popular empanada of the North, here’s a #simpol version you can make at home! Try making it with your kids, surely they will enjoy it!
INGREDIENTS:
Set A:
1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 ½ teaspoons fine salt
Set B:
4 tablespoons canola oil
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
Set C:
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vinegar
2 tablespoons water

Gusto ko well grind/ground chicken with lots of red pepper, sweet empanadas. I really do not like chicken but I tasted that kind of empanada; and for the first time, I ate the whole empanada without picky throwing chickens. Some videos added sugar and oyster sauce; but, baka lasang siopao?

Chef can I freeze the uncooked empanada and fry it the following day?
Hi chef.. ask ko lng is it ok to cook the filling days prior the making of empanada?
I tried this using the exact measurements that he recommended but it's too salty. 🙁
Although after frying it turned out so crispy! Mine is salty tho. I used salted butter. Should have omitted the salt.

Hello Chef, just would like to clarify when you say, " 1 tbsp or tablespoon" or are you referring to "1 tsp or teaspoon" Because when I look at the video, I see the butter measurement to be tsp or teaspoon and not looking like tbsp or tablespoon. Please confirm because I'm interested in making fresh lumpia wrapper. Thanks
He said "4 tablespoons of butter" or "1/2 stick of butter". Hope this helps!

I've tried this empanada recipe but no offense po, it was too oily and crumbly for me. But I like the idea of putting a little bit of vinegar sa dough, nakatulong talaga siya.

very simple dahil mix lang naman ang mga ingredients. need nman tlagang mag- antay habang nagluluto. Kaya hindi ko gets bakit sa iba hindi simple?

What a delightful man! I stumbled on this video and was mesmerized by Chef's language pattern. His accent threw me for a couple of minutes. His English accent has a Mexican element to it and I thought I heard some Spanish words in there. Then I realized he is from The Philippines. I love how he gives instructions in two languages with such smooth fluidity. Not sure I would make this with raisins, but the recipe looks delicious and watching Chef was delightful.

I use the basic dough like yours for my baked hopia. Just inexpensive margarine and cooking oil. The dough is convertible to crunchy or flaky, depending to adjustment. You surprised me with the vinegar tho😮😮.. keep it coming..👍👍

Hi po Chef I'm selling empanada and I can't get the perfect shape and crisp of the dough. I want the dough to last its crisp for a long hour. What could be the measurement of ingredients if I'm using 1.5-2kl of flour? What are the things I need to keep and avoid to keep the dough in shape and crispy even in deliveries? Hindi po ako chef but try mo i double fry. Make sure na dry at cooled yung surface ng empanada before mo i double fry at a higher temp for a few minutes.
