Right. There are so many times I'm in so much pain that I can hardly make it to the bathroom 😂 Your birthday party or dinner in those times is the least important thing on my priority list lmao

Health, be in mental or physical, is always a priority. Itd be nice if everyone thought that way.

Sometimes! Your health is ALWAYS more important than any social gathering.

We work on Crip Time! ❤️‍🩹 Disability means you have plans and time trackers, and still something somewhere is gonna disrupt those plans. It’s our reality, and most of us understand it when it happens to fellow disabled people. Everyone’s disability is different. No need to treat others badly.

No one quite gets how out of line this is like fellow disabled folks. Thanks joining the conversation and for being awesome. 🫶🏻

Right! As if I like barely being able to walk some days or having my body feel like I'm about 70 years old. Like really!

People suck. You’re awesome. If someone can’t offer you grace, I would excuse them from your inner circle. 🫶🏻

Say it louder for the jerks in the back. I have an aunt that constantly gives me a guilt trip when I have to cancel plans last minute or when I can't make a family function. I hate it.

I’m so sorry. That is unfair and wrong. We can only hope she will be educated by someone (other than you - it’s not our job to educate people that mistreat us) and will change her ways. Hang in there. 🫶🏻

My own daughter tells me that I use Crohns as an excuse not to go places with her that are far( because without fail I will DEFINITELY be blowing up some store’s bathroom for a minimum of 20 minutes just ON THE WAY to our destination). She says this stuff almost daily to me-like she literally thinks if I am not being HELD at the hospital, then I’m okay 😢
Yeah, I love being in pain EVERYDAY and not being able to eat and spending most of my waking hours in the bathroom .Good times 😂😂😂

I’m so sorry. That is really hard and painful when the people who are supposed to love us unconditionally don’t understand. It has left me feeling dejected and alone more times than I care to count.
Chronic illness is hard enough as it is without feeling like we have to explain to others why we need that extra time in the bathroom, or why we can’t “just eat what they’re serving,” or why we aren’t feeling up to seeing anyone today.
Sending you a big Crohnie hug and hoping that in time your daughter will come around and take your side. Until then, I’m on your side and completely get it!

i believe you never let your illness define who you are as a person yes I have crappy days ones where I can’t go out but I don’t use it as an excuse not to find joy in everyday to try and do things those that say your lazy get a job there really is nothing wrong with you unless you have walked someone’s mile you have no right to judge them
