- Road trips are good for the soul, especially for a grieving heart. This getaway to northwest Arkansas was just what the doctor ordered.
We survived date nights, doggie bakeries, too many amazing restaurants to count and a tornado scare at the breathtaking Crystal Bridges Art Museum.
What a trip! As we settle back into life at home, it makes me grateful for my beautiful family. It's funny how the dream never looks exactly like we think it should, but that doesn't mean it isn't our happily ever after.

I'm glad you were able to get away to regroup. I had a cousin that committed suicide a few years ago and it was a very hard time. Looking back I think a change of scenery would have done wonders. Funny how we can see that in hindsight.
I can't say that Benton Arkansas is on my list of places to visit but this sure made it look appealing. The art museum looked really cool and watching the way your husband looks at you melts my heart. May I find somone who looks at me that way.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your cousin. It is really hard to process that sort of grief. It’s very easy to get stuck in a few stages of grief when it ends like this. 😔
And thank you for the compliment about how Ricky looks at me. I’m pretty crazy about him too. What’s even funnier about that is how annoyed he was with me for filming him. Me being as ornery as our little Brylee. But that’s part of what he loves and I love making him smile that sly smile. It’s part of the dance of our love that has become a part of our rhythm as a couple. You’ll find it, like I did, when you least expect it. 🫶🏻
Road trips with loved ones are a good way to heal after such grief. I agree with what you said. You needed that space to process everything. I’m so sorry for your loss. ❤️🩹

That was a nice house you guys got to stay at. I chuckled at your comment about not looking at prices because no kids because once we can go out to dinner as a family and not look at prices then that means I’m rich ha ha
I love finding those outdoor places because we don’t have dogs with us but we do have kids and sometimes I just want to say go play, know what I mean?
We are in Texas where we had the tornado warning, but it passed us by. That’s crazy about the tornado tho.
Oh Steph, I’m glad you saw the humor in the comment about going wild on date night with prices. We went back and forth over having kids and ultimately landed on our journey through life would be enough just us and our dogs. But yes, raising kiddos is pricy!
We love eating outside for the dog but also, just because we are outside people. Give me a patio or rooftop any day!
Living in tornado alley, I’ve grown up with them all my life, but it is still unnerving when the sirens blare, the sky goes green and hail the size of baseballs (and softballs for this storm) start to fall. But thankfully we were safe.
