im just at the point where you fight the cursed great wood and you say: "use soul arrow instead because while it does 7 less damage it costs 4 less mana [then heavy soul arrow]" and im really interested in your math. how does that up pretty quickly with limited mana when using heavy soul arrow adds up to 1,75 dmg more per point of of mana spent? if it was the other way arround then yyes your math would be correct but when it comes to efficient use of limited mana heavy soul arrow is your better friend compared to standard soul arrow. please explain for i am positively puzzled.

In all fairness that would've only worked on the first attempt at which point nobody would've guessed Wolnir would turn out to be a struggle, but that is very funny with hindsight
As a slave to asthetics I mained the candlesword, loving every moment i could take the moment to light the candles. Do I care that its bad, no because who cares if I doe if I look good doing it. Also incase it ever matters again for the Demon prince. Demon in pain, just close the game. Demon from below, then fall into a flow.
There is a shortcut in the swamp section of the Ringed City with the angels. At the cliffside, there’s a root you can drop onto that will take you to the second pupa, letting you kill it and then head straight to the bonfire, not having to deal with the first angel at all.
7:28 funner fact! If you go to the second bonfire of the Village (the one past the gate) you can jump down the very near Cliff to save even more time!! Just get your First free level from Yoel, the go die for 7 to 8 minutes non stop and you'll have the other 4 levels right away!
I've only played DS3 once. Played it blind using a sorcery build, so watching someone kill Yhorm with magic was so cathartic. I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE SWORD! WHY WOULD I KNOW ABOUT THE SWORD?

I would genuinely like to hear why DS3 is the least played of the Souls games for you. I think I have more playtime in DS1, but it's pretty close, and Dark Souls 3 feels incredible and has the best level design of the series, imo (though 1 has better world design). The only real knock against it for me are the aesthetics, it's a little too washed out. DS2 isn't bad, but I feel like it takes too long for me to get to the parts that I really like, and the controls feel...fiddly.
Based on his ranting, I'm betting he thinks DS3 has too many "unfair" moments. DS1 is a lot easier, he has more personal experience running it so he already did the work he won't do for DS3, and the game's pacing/combat is much slower so there's generally less things to keep track of (that is, fewer attacks to think about and larger windows to counterattack in). I theorize this is also why he hates Bloodborne -- it's too fast and he won't put in the effort. DS1 and 2 are his comfort zones. Simple as that.

For the great heaxvy soul arrow vs soul spear is that individual spells have their own base damage & scaling to them. This allows for certain spells to be worth the investment for high Int/Faith + going for high incant scaling. Where it also allows lower int/faith builds that use early spells with buffs to compliment melee to not feel lack luster either. You must be in a gray between stats- catalyst that caused that exact damage between both spells base vs scaling
I never understood why a boss would wait until he or she was half dead to roll out a move set or new weapon. I know you had that with you the whole time... I know you were capable of that move when I walked in here... you KILLED ME with it just a minute ago... why not use it from the beginning?
No need to exhaust more effort than needed incase you need to fight after. Basically that idea of them not using everything on a single person when they are likely challenged often throguhout their rule. No need to burn their own magic pool, stamina, etc. On 1 person unless they need to incase someone is coming after them

I find the fireball big boy is a bit easier than the laser one for the Demon Prince because his big channelled attack takes longer and you can wail on him whilst he's doing it then get out before it actually hits.
The nameless king, to me, is the fromsoft tutorial boss. When he becomes easy to beat alone you've effectively gotten gud a significant amount and can tackle anything the rest of the games try to throw at you comfortably
Commenting at Aldrich but surprised to see the Saint-tree Bellvine not make an appearence. I can't remember if holding it in his offhand for the casting speed bonus would break his rules but I don't think so?
100%. Dancer soundtrack is the only one in the game that moves to 3/4 time instead of the 4/4 time of every other boss. Its a thing that messes with timing on attacks for people who play to the rhythm of the game vs reacting to the boss itself. Messes up quite a few without even realizing why. Advice to see the difference is to actually play the fight without sound if you're struggling to not have it happen
I'm a little surprised at your Demon Prince rant. I know a lot of people consider it the best Duo boss in the series, it's interesting to see a perspective from the other side.

The FromSoft Effect is indicative of the Dark Souls series as a whole, and is quite poetic. New challenges, new enemies, new friends.... the cycle begins and begins and begins again, and there are familiar and foreign things. One day it may end, but for now, we fight, until it is done...
Hey lemon, challenge run I did a wile back in ds3 that I though was rather fun. The Twink build. Basically you beat all bosses (including dlc) while soul level 25 and having no more than a +2 weapon at your disposal. This allows for some light build tweaking while moving through the game, and some weapon changes to take advantages of certain bosses weak points (For example, did you know Gael can be frostbitten? That plus an offhand fire dagger to reset the status effect was my main dps during that fight). Really fun for me, as someone who LOVES ds3 and doesn't do many challenge runs.
Going in to this video I was expecting a few things. The part about the Demons was not something I expected. From anywhere. Pretty much ever. To each their own then

I've come to find I'm a strange DS3 player. My first playthrough, I beat Pontif first try. Friede is my favourite fight in the game and I find Midir kinda easy tbh. No walk in the park, don't get me wrong, but for some reason, the timing window on dodging his attacks just came super natural and easy to me. Also, can confirm that Pestilent Mist is the GOAT of spells, especially against Midir. First time I beat him was in an all magic playthrough while my buddy was going big bonk build and I'll tell ya, once you get the timing down, Midir is Crippled by PM. Also also! Fun little fact I learned from all the times we had to retry Midir (Cause at that stage in the game I said "Fuck Sunny D" and only had like, two sips) when you land, you can just stand there and his charge barely doesn't hit you, stops right infront of you XD
This is *exactly* what I needed today after 2 and a half hours of running around failing to get a money transfer. Lemon never fails to make me smile! :D
I know that money is money but sometimes I wonder how content creators can say with a straight face that Displate is easy to hang (if you want it to stick) and that it stays on the wall.

I appreciate you showing how the candles help you get through the areas and regular enemies, not just the bosses. A lot of creators seem to treat DS3 in specific like it’s a boss rush due to its linear nature - which might be why it’s your least played Souls game. That’s why it’s my least played one, to be sure.
I hate this weapon with a passion. It is to Blue Flame was Godrick is to Godfrey. A travesty, an insult. Blue Flame was one of the most fun sword to use in Dark Souls 2, and they made its Dark Souls 3 counterpart one of the worst weapons in the game. Thankfully there is Heysel Pick, the Immolation Tinder and the Golden Ritual Spear. But none reaches the height of the Blue Flame.

This game came out 8 years ago and I'm just now learning that Pontiff Sulyvahn's shadow clone jutsu is weak to magic damage? I'm slower than I thought, shit.
I appreciate you showing how the candles help you get through the areas and regular enemies, not just the bosses. A lot of creators seem to treat DS3 in specific like it’s a boss rush due to its linear nature - which might be why it’s your least played Souls game. That’s why it’s my least played one, to be sure.

It is to Blue Flame was Godrick is to Godfrey. A travesty, an insult.
Blue Flame was one of the most fun sword to use in Dark Souls 2, and they made its Dark Souls 3 counterpart one of the worst weapons in the game.
Thankfully there is Heysel Pick, the Immolation Tinder and the Golden Ritual Spear.
But none reaches the height of the Blue Flame.
