The zoom ability will give me a huge advantage while aiming on enemies 😂 thx man Edit : I've discovered that you can't control your game while zooming ... :/
It would best be used for scouting. The reason why is that the ps4 controller blocks all other inputs while in zoom mode (Excluding the directional pad, the cancel button, and the playstation button) meaning that you can't move, aim, reload, crouch or have any control over the game while in zoom mode. But hey, I don't mind spotting kids 754m away🤷🏽♂️
Actually, it’s best to leave both of these display options on automatic, switching to the incorrect options will actually leave the display worse than what it was before. It all depends on your TV, resolution, and color gambit.
Hernan Hernandez That's not entirely true. My Samsung TV has full HDMI black range, and despite setting it accordingly the auto setting on the PS4 selects 'Limited'. Therefore I have to set my PS4 to 'Full' manually so my blacks do not get washed out. This is also why it says on the PS4 to change the setting only if the device (TV) info is not being sent correctly 0:50.
Changing rgb range doesn't give you "more colours" it's a colour mapping range to match up with your tv or monitor correctly. Typically a tv will use the rgb limited range and a monitor will use the full range. But despite the labelling neither is better than the other. If you mismatch the range then you'll either end up with washed out colours that look grey or you'll end up with black crush. Don't just set it to full automatically thinking it's the better option.
Exactly. This is a ridiculous video, made by someone who doesn't have a clue. I wonder how many people are now playing their PS4's with crushed blacks as a result of watching this misinformation...
For those who is on ps4 pro, put your resolution to 1080p not the highest, and put your super sampling mode to off. And on boost mode options. This gives good graphics and better fps in 30 fps games
It really depends on the tv really. What the video is suggesting might not work with other displays. RGB full will only look good if the tv has RGB full too. Same as the sharpness setting. Low sharpness can cause weird blur on some TVs, while others is completely fine with zero.

Word of advice, changing the RGB is tied to your tv´s black level. If you change it and the tv doesn't automatically change the black level to either high or low, you are either getting a washed out image or crushed blacks. For reference, Full RGB goes with Low black level and Limited goes with High black level. Also, not all tv support full RGB (newer models do but older might not) so if you are unsure about yours I suggest just using Limited. And even if it does support it, the difference between Full and Limited might be so small it's almost the same (like in my case).
Stumbled across your video and I have a PS4 PRO and a 4K TV and can confirm these tricks work if you adjust your brightness settings correctly! Also turning on Bold Text looks real nice depending on what kind of TV you have! Thank you!
If you’re using a tv, most likely would suggest you to keep using limited RGB Range. Unless your tv support full range. The downside of using full range if your tv does not support, you going to lose more details in game than you use limited range
Even if it supports it its not going to make a big difference, the point of rgb is if you are playing on a monitor, my tv supports it but when i put full i get a bit of color banding, instead of a smooth grey i get some lines of grey
Also, turn all TV ‘improvements’ off other than gaming mode if you have it. Limited - 16-235 levels of grey, full - 0-255, if your TV supports only 16-235 you lose detail in the shadows and in the brightest areas and you get banding. I would highly recommend explaining what things actually do when making videos on improvements, as this may make things much worse for a lot of people.
I would recommend setting you tv to full RGB as well. I have my PS4 on full, but my tv was set to limited. I couldn’t get the right settings for months.
On your tv put contrast all the way up and lower your brightness so the darkest black is pitch black. Boost color to 60 or 65, you’ll think your on ps5
IGNORE THESE SETTINGS! THEY ARE WRONG! These settings make a lot of assumptions with no background information. Leave your resolution set to automatic and don't set it to the highest option (1080p on a standard PS4). Leaving it on automatic will allow the system to choose the highest available resolution for the media you are using. Some content can be 1080i or 720P depending on if it's an older game or streaming content. The PS4 will choose the appropriate resolution to attain the highest resolution the media AND YOUR DISPLAY can produce. Changing the RGB range only makes sense if your TV is capable of FULL range or WIDE color gamut. If it isn't and you set it to full you will actually reduce your color spectrum and end up with some weird looking color artifacts and banding. No mention of the HDR settings and why they should be enabled if available is just strange. HDR isn't available on every TV but if you have it, use it. There's a reason it's there. HDR will make your whites brighter without blooming while keeping your dark dark without losing detail getting grey. It's what makes a flashlight in a dark room or a fire at night look correct. Muzzle-fire in a dark room and games that support HDR look phenomenal with it enabled. Think Uncharted, Horizon Zero Dawn or Need for Speed. Injustice 2 and MK 11 look amazing with HDR. No comment on the accessibility settings. If you need them, you need them. Not essential unless it's for your comfort.
Before I would do this and get deep blacks. It was hard to see in low light areas when gaming. Now that I have a high speed cable capable of outputting 4k or 1080p it looks a lot better than before. I play on monitor.
Destinygamer3268 Destinygamer3268 usually consoles have rough launches but this will be the first time I will be buying a console instantly. Seriously so excited but there are still many games to come before ps5.
This is called Black Crush and is a loss of detail you experience in scenes that are near black when you don't properly match HDMI Black Level Low with Limited or High with RGB Full.
If you set the RGB video output to full you should go to your TV settings and set black levels (HDMI black level in some brands) as high or normal, if you use limited RGB output then you should use black level Low as this causes your TV to correctly render colors and not have a saturated contrast image and incorrect colors.
This popped up on my recommendation. I immediately thought nooooo when I saw the title to this video. You cannot improve ps4 graphics by changing the TV in anyway. Thank you had no idea about this had my ps4 for awhile games look so much better
I have 4ktv but no hdr should i go with full and deep color? And to max resolution? Because its says 2160p RGB but my tv resolution is 3840 x 2160 would it lower it? And if i will choose between 2160 YUV and 2160 RBG which will i choose? my tv doesn't have hdr
just trial and error
Looks better but also makes you play worse even if your displays settings match because it introduces more display lag
John C. Fee what’s the best settings to reduce display lag?
Thanks
right?
Theres no way this could affect display lag...
@@HomelessT361 turn off everything that makes your tv graphic and sound better. Those things processed by the tv, sometimes it cant processed the signal fast enough, make 'em lagged
izokido appreciate it bro
