@@habib08m temporary. The PS4 defaults to sleep rather than full power off so it does stay active until it is ever fully powered off. Super easy to start back up once you have everything set up.
@@SoulEsne Unfortunately I don't have stable electricity it may go down while playing so the console turns off. Does running the exploit require internet connection everytime? One more thing my current version is 7.02 is the exploit for this version also need to run everytime you turn off?
@@habib08mdepends on the website you're using to get the exploit active, there are a lot of websites, I use one that let's you save the cache in your browser so you can activate the exploit without internet access
Thanks for the easy and simple video. For some reason, the user guide wouldn't load the exploit page on my side, I had to enter the URL manually. Also I had to try 3-4 times for the PS4 to "crash" it would just give the spinning circle indefinitely. But now it's all good :)

If got a newer version you can theoretically wipe the ps4 hdd and reinstall OS with an older version. There are a lot of tutorials out there so no need to worry.

if you still have an old early gen flashdrive then this is the perfect use for it, most of those are thin enough to fit into the front ports on a base ps4 and the file needed for it is only a few mb but makes the drive unusable for any other purpose
*Fix for when the pop up doesn't appear when prompted to insert USB stick* - you need to convert the USB stick to MBR first and then use Win32 Disk Imager or Rufus to write the USB stick. This seemed to work for me after using a couple of different USB sticks.

@@serenity808x in Windows, plug in the USB stick, go into Computer Management -> Storage. There will be a list of all the disks. If you right-click on the USB stick there should be an option to convert it to MBR. Let me know how you go.
Well you could just spend a little and upgrade it to an ssd rather than buying fan ... it is already tested that a ps4 pro with ssd is just 10 to 30 second behind ps4 loading time depending on the type of ssd you using ...so get yourself an ssd and enjoy a better performance ps4 pro

SUPER IMPORTANT: BEFORE you start the jailbreak process, TURN OFF AUTOMATIC DOWNLOADS in the System menu!! I was setting up the DNS per the video and the PS4 had already started downloading the firmware update between the screen where I entered the wifi password and the DNS screen! Probably using previous settings.. caught it on time, it was almost 90% done downloading and about to install 😰😰😰!!
addition: Run the Disable Updates payload if you have it on your host of choice. It creates dummy files that allows to idk somehow "cancels" the update when it is being installed. Also, GoldHEN already has iirc.

If you have firmware 9.0 already go to 6:30 in video to start jailbreak process, Dammit Jeff chapter time jumps to far ahead, there's a few steps for setting up the internet connection you have to do before his chapter time. NB After setting up the internet connection as shown my connection to the 'User Guide' didn't work so I choose 'Test Internet Connection' and when it tested successfully then the 'User Guide' as noted loaded.
It's too bad I never got mine to update to 9.00. My PS4 launch model's power supply died sometime early august last year. I was able to buy a power supply in december sale unfortunately I think by that time 9.03 was out and no choice to go with that firmware.

I cant get the 9.00 firmware downloaded to ps4, it says it need wifi and when i turned on the wifi, it says system up to date. I followed each steps and the usb im using is PNY 16 usb 3.0. The usb is already formatted as exfat. I only have macbook
Question : For those of us who have yet to migrate to a PS5 would it at all be possible to transfer to that new system while on 9.00? We haven't really played PlayStation games in several months so both of our consoles are able to be on 9.00, but the system transfer process requires you to be online. Obviously once you jailbreak a console you will never want to take it online again because it will just get banned, which won't be a problem if we get a PS5 to go online with. Also, can games be backed up as image files? I had a PS3 that was jailbroken years ago and after it died from heat issues the only game that I really got to keep were the ones that had an image file. All the packets file games were lost. That made be prefer images going forward, but so many scenes prefer installation files that aren't as easy to work with and I'd rather made my backups as something that I can just run without installing anything. Is that possible on the PS4 at all? And of course can a modded PS4 play the games installed from PSN Plus without going online, since I won't be able to? And are there emulators for running my old PSX and PS2 games?

Everyone wants things to install in a limited space rather than image files to mount which are easier to keep track of. I ended up buying a PS2 to play PS2 and PS1 games on, because I figured that it was safer to keep them separate from the PS3 to minimize on problems, but I've been having trouble with Popstarter and OPL and PS2 modding forums are beyond horrible! I've tried repeatedly to report a bug for the past week and just got contradictory instructions from moderators meaning it's impossible to actually get help so I'll probably have to get a modded PS1 as well. I wish there was such a thing as a device that uses native hardware to perfectly emulate all machines to actually play the games with or without a disc because even in 2022 compatability for PS1 games is spotty and the old hardware will eventually die.

I've already jailbroken my ps4 and it's been working great. Though it's *extremely* important to take out the usb after jailbreaking because leaving it in while turning the ps4 on/off can mess up the kernel needing you to wipe everything on it and reinstalling 9.00. Edit: I am wrong.

I’m using steam remote link and streaming the game from my pc in the other room to my Samsung tv. The PlayStation controller is connected to the tv with an usb extension cable. Works super smooth. The game has even better graphics by this method.

Can u still use this tutorial? On the firmware website it says it has a file for system software 10.71 which is the same as my system software

@@tehonlynoobs5556 PKG files are what I hate most about the PS3 and what I hate about the modern Switch modding scene. Everyone wants things to install in a limited space rather than image files to mount which are easier to keep track of.
I ended up buying a PS2 to play PS2 and PS1 games on, because I figured that it was safer to keep them separate from the PS3 to minimize on problems, but I've been having trouble with Popstarter and OPL and PS2 modding forums are beyond horrible! I've tried repeatedly to report a bug for the past week and just got contradictory instructions from moderators meaning it's impossible to actually get help so I'll probably have to get a modded PS1 as well.
I wish there was such a thing as a device that uses native hardware to perfectly emulate all machines to actually play the games with or without a disc because even in 2022 compatability for PS1 games is spotty and the old hardware will eventually die.
@@ihelpyouwitheverything4720 We already own two. If I was going to buy a 3rd and 4th I'd buy a PS5 and use these for modding. But again, there's the issue of moving to a new console without updating.

I've already jailbroken my ps4 and it's been working great. Though it's *extremely* important to take out the usb after jailbreaking because leaving it in while turning the ps4 on/off can mess up the kernel needing you to wipe everything on it and reinstalling 9.00.

This has happened to me and it was not very fun. Don't kmow where you got the information that you can leave it in while restarting or whatever

You can enter the exploit page manually in the PS4’s web browser. This is just a convenience thing. :)

ok í found my old ps4 it was on version 8.50 did the thing to update it to 9.00 and did the dns thing and when I go to user's Guide the anime thing is there but when i try to download the GoldHEN it just says cannot connect to the server did i do something wrong?

Hey, thanks fir this. However, everytime I insert the USB gor HEN GOLD, the pop up doesn't show, and the ps4 just shuts down completely. Tried that at least 10 times With different usbs.
Same thing happened to me. You have to use certain usb drives, for example I brought a Sandisk 32gb flash drive and it worked the 2nd try
Hi there. Your tutorial is very easy to understand! I just have a question about restarting the PS4 becuase it'll definitely happen everytime its used. Just to be clear, you can't use the same flash drive at all to jailbreak it again? Does it have to be formated and install the files to it each time?

@@tobiwobichan thx for the reply… I came up with a solution to play that one title I love (Alice madness returns). I’m using steam remote link and streaming the game from my pc in the other room to my Samsung tv. The PlayStation controller is connected to the tv with an usb extension cable. Works super smooth. The game has even better graphics by this method.

My ps4 is already 9.00 udated jailbreak 4 month's ago and this 9.00 jailbreak is so much good.
