What would have been cool is if she became batgirl in batman and robin we did see in batman forever she does know how to fight and maybe Ivy play a big part of her and bruce is relationship
Oooo, nostalgia alert!!! Had this Merlin sticker album and absolutely loved collecting stickers for this. Lots of 'glittery' gems and a shedload of deleted scene photos too. So happy you pointed out the original plot order of the film. It definitely flows far better than what we have in the final cut...Schumacher Cut please, Warner Archive...??? 🤞 I enjoy how darker the story actually was as shown in the sticker album. I think it was Bob Daly and Terry Semel, the owners of WB at the time, who demanded the film be lighter in tone. So much detail in the photos and again, so glad you pointed out how much the production entailed. It doesn't get addressed much but I enjoy how grand Gotham looked, even from all the random photos of the city that you mentioned. I thought it was a far cry from Bo Welch's Returns production design of the city, which felt claustrophobic and stagey. Very brief with the Circus scene, I agree! Sugar and Spice were originally called Leather and Lace, but WB demanded it to be changed. Yep, The Riddler whacking the guard with the cane was cut. It is still a really odd scene with the guards looking like mannequins. Very strange with the Nygmatech construction scene, I agree. I'm glad it got trimmed as it seemed irrelevant. I think it was Alex Daniels as Batman in those cool stills of the water fountain flip at the Nygmatech party. Rick Baker's giant bat model is still really cool to see. I was hoping there would have been some shots of Bruce with the bat. The ending definitely looked a bit rushed in the album. Still great to see the photos. I think the glittery last combo of Batman & Robin had Chris O'Donnell standing on a box so he could be a bit higher to Val. The cropping of the photo gets rid of the platform under Chris' boots. 😊 It is a wonderfully looking movie, you certainly are right there. Considering it was filmed pre-digital, it is very pristine to watch. Thank you so much for your commentary on the album and for making me comment whilst you were pointing out the details! 👏
Mike, always enjoy your comments. Yes, even though I didn't have this album as a kid, it instantly takes me back to 1995 opening it up and looking at it. Pure nostalgia. Love how many of these stickers show details of the movie we didn't get to see. I think part of what makes Forever feel less stagey is they shot a handful of scenes on real streets in LA and mixed them with the wonderful model shots of the skyscrapers. Really opened up Gotham. Wasn't familiar with those names - Semel and Daly - will have to see if I can dig up more details on them and what demands they made.
Great video! I vividly remember buying this sticker album and reading the story straight away - even though the film was probably still a couple of weeks or so from being released. But knowing the general storyline in advance didn't affect how much I loved the movie that first time - I think spoilers were just less of an issue back then!
2:46 That checks out. The still has to be from a deleted scene right before Bruce Wayne and his assistants walk into the research wing of Wayne Enterprises and get interrupted by Edward Nygma. After all, Jon Faverau is credited in the movie; and extras, even those who are featured more prominently in a movie, generally don't end up getting their names mentioned in the credits. So, his line(s) in the film have to be from that deleted scene. I do wonder if said scene only "worked" with the original cut of the movie, where it hard cuts to Bruce Wayne at work following Harvey Two-Face'e escape from Arkham Asylum. The final/theateical cut kind of needs that long establishing shot of Wayne Enterprises (with the news report in the background) as it transitions from Batman failing to capture/stop Two-Face in the previous scene. If I remember correctly, some variation of this deleted scene was included in the workprint that Kevin Smith screened twice in 2023 (according to those who attended and then shared what they saw online).
I think the Kung Fu laundry was quite a late addition to the film. I'm not 100% certain but I think it isn't in the shooting script. Obviously there was that deleted scene where Dick is training with a wooden dummy. I think it was filmed to replace that.
@1995Batman That sounds right. I have two drafts of the screenplay dated from March and June of '94. It would be very cool to find the original first draft Michael Keaton read in '93, but I don't think it's avilable online as of yet.
I remember years ago transcribing one of the Batchler's scripts but I have a feeling it might be the 2nd draft. archive.org/details/Batman3ScriptProductionDraftAkivaGoldsman
@@1995Batman From what I can tell so far, this transcript is indeed the second draft from March 11th, 1994. My PDF file has a M-2 label printed across the pages, although I don't know what it's for. I downloaded it from a website named Scribd.
This channel is the exact niche deep dive into trivia, design and random bits of stuff I like. Great job! As a Canadian, I never knew that "sticker albums" where a thing? That's pretty neat. I could see myself slapping a cool Batman Forever sticker onto say, a Walkman or onto a bike growing up.
7:00 See that third photo of Dick? That was used for the back of the VHS box, but it only showed half the image. This is my first time seeing the whole photo which tells me it’s a scene of Dick assessing the black knight (not in final film)
Very cool item! I only ever got a sticker album from Dark Knight, so I never saw these that I am aware of. Trust you to find whatever they made! Very cool stuff!
Haha, thanks Les. That's great they were still making them in 2008 for Dark Knight. I can't remember seeing any recent movie sticker albums being sold in shops. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough. They used to be everywhere.
@@1995Batman BTW, have you seen the news about the upcoming Spinmaster 95 Batmobile toy set, with a retro Batman figure? Looks wicked! And, right up your alley! You are in the right place for all this 95/97 Batman love! Rock it!
@LesWalker2023 yes, saw it last night. Looks great (though I think it might be just a retool of the original batmobile from 1995). Still very cool to see it on shelves and will definitely pick it up.
@@1995Batman That's my buddy! I actually had that car back in the day, and gave it to this little boy I overheard in a videostore, saying how he loved Batman. His family didn't have the money to get him much, so I gave him a box full of books, magazines, cards and toys. Two of the toys were both the old Batmobiles from Forever and B&R. I miss them now, but am glad that kid got them. So, I need to replace them sometime. I would get McFarlane's one, but this one will be cheaper and more familiar I think.
7:28 may be from earlier, when they met before Batman goes after Two-Face.
7:25 my favorite page to see both batsy and chase cover
Such a shame they weren't still together in B&R 😢
@1995Batman I agree on that 😢
Also I totally agree 7:34 it is an amazing shot of that, batman and chase but her hand on his chest that's hot

Yeah I hadn't thought of that. I guess a lot of kids did read this before they saw the movie.
4:01 Always thought this may be when Dick ran the Batmobile through town, ''the other car, Sir'' scene.
Yeah you're probably right
I only found out this yesterday but there's a batman and robin toys ultimate batman 14 inch toys like the batman forever batman
Yes I have the Ultimate Robin from that line - will be reviewing it soon

Yeah exactly. I think the assistants scene got trimmed because it affected the flow of the film. Shame, I'd love to see it.
Loving the very colorful page design and layout. And I also have a soft spot for the kung-fu laundry scene. Alfred's reaction is priceless. 😂

This was such a great trip down memory lane mate. I used to have this same album in mexico and I loved it! I never filled it unfortunatelly lol
Ah, so it was also sold in Mexico. That's interesting. Glad you had fun looking at it again.

Yes, I think that was a promo still that got used in quite a few magazine. Was possibly a unit still.
Great video dude. Have you also seen the ‘Movie photo sticker album’ by Topps? That one is a beauty
Yes I think I have the Topps Album somewhere and I also have the stickers. I should probably put them together.

@LesWalker2023 ah bless you passing it on. I'm 75% sure this is the exact same Kenner model from 1995 just without the light up feature.
My mother refused to buy sticker albums for me. Said they were a waste of money. She bought me the Batman Forever Souvenir magazine instead.😊
Hahaha, that sounds like what my mum would say too. Souvenir magazine probably has exact same information and photos anyway.
