I found the hack for the random light up glitch and it worked like an absolute charm. I don't remember where I found it, I think it was in a Reddit group or another comment section here. You need to hold the keyboard up vertically and give it a nice shake. Not too harsh. Just shaking it twice up and down will do. This instantly solves the issue until it happens next time, when you have to do the same thing again. Someone said it was due to dust but I don't know what it really is.
Was looking at this and the black Apple keyboard with Touch ID. $230 is a tough pill to swallow for the Apple keyboard, albeit not even with a back light. A local electronics store was liquidating, and sold me this Logitech Mx for mac for…$60!!! Just picked it up today. Couldn’t say no to that price. So I looked up a video to see what other ppl thought of it. Great review! 👍🏻
I use mine every day and I love it more than the Magic Keyboard. I don't use the back light much from time to time and I am going on more that 5 months without charging. 🥳
It's a great keyboard but it has one major flaw: the intelligent Backlight! It immediately turns off after being inactive even if you rest your fingertips on the keys. That is very annoying because backlight is only useful in dark light conditions. But when it turns off just after typing the last letter you have first to touch the key board for turning on backlight again before following on with typing. That makes me crazy. I contacted Logitech support but there is no option available to adjust the time after inactivity when intelligent backlight should turn off. That makes the whole thing useless
Thank you 🙂 My wife uses a windows machine for work, she said the @ symbol remains as displayed on the keyboard at the number 2 key. I do know that in order to switch the keyboard layout to be suitable for windows, you need to press Fn + P for 3 seconds, and for Mac it’s the O key. That way the cmd/alt keys work correctly.
@@hemalmistry It seems easy but it is not when you have a varied or unknown audience. Some people may want a lot of details and others want you to get to the conclusion fast. You have to find the right balance between those 2 ends.
I use the same keyboard with Windows 11 - everything works perfectly. I connected it to my macbook, but I can't change the input language. Does anyone know how to change the input language on a macbook using a Logitech MX Keys?
I did a quick google search… you could try this… In Logi Options+ software: 1. go into your keyboard settings where it presents the keyboard with the pictures of the the customizable keys - 2. Select the key you would like to reprogram to use to switch languages (I used the lock in the far right corner, because I don't need to lock my computer with the keyboard) - 3. Select "other options" and click "input language".
Hey Hemal, I have the same keyboard but I keep facing the input lag issues with both my Windows and Mac laptops. I start typing/using the keyboard only to realize that nothing has happened and then I have to redo the same task again. Does it happen with you?
Hi, I’ve read others having this issue too but I don’t experience it. It may be because I connect via Bluetooth instead of the receiver, so you could try that. Others have said this fixed the issue.
As for backlighting turning on by itself I can confirm it happens the same thing with my mx keys s. I already requested a replace to amazon but at this point I'm sure they're all faulty.
I own a Logitech MX Keys bought in Nov '21 that I use with my M1 Macbook pro and Surface Pro. It only worked for 2 years. There are many ghost keystrokes being registered and some keys stop working randomly. Right now, there are 10 keys which do not work (E, J, C, F4, F5, F9, ~, >). In fact, once connected, it prevents even the laptop keystrokes from being registered. If you are in India, I would advise everyone to avoid Logitech because there is no after sales service. My MX Master 2S battery died after 2 years, K380 BT connection was bad and now this keyboard. Having to paying a premium for these expensive products and then losing them to avoidable and repairable issues (3/4 products in my case) is the worst feeling.
That’s not good at all and good to know as I’ve only had mine over a year. So far so good but I’ll keep watch if it starts to play up. Thanks for sharing your experience. Which keyboard would you advise instead?
The only way I know is to use the F6 key (lower backlight) to switch it off. If you switch the keyboard off then on, then you have to press it again. I’m don’t know if there’s a way to permanently switch it off, from forums I’ve read, people say there isn’t a way.
there is delay when you're typing? like, there is any difference between using a wired keyboard and this one with a dongle? im trying to buy one wireless keyboard, but most of them are just bluetooth, using it on windows with some anonymous bluetooth dongle wasnt an option, cause sometimes i play games...
Hi, no there isn’t a delay, it’s the same as using a wired keyboard. With this keyboard you have the choice to use either the dongle or Bluetooth to connect to your computer.
I had a cheap wireless keyboard before and if did lag at times. Every time I would turn in the pc the first stroke was not registered until it was connected. Is this the case with this keyboard?
Hi Hemal. I just bought my keyboard few days ago. I connected it easily with ipad and mobile but I can't connect it to pc. It shows sign of connection but the keyboard doesn't function. Do you have any advice?
@@hemalmistry I tried both ways and in both ways it's giving me a sign that it's connected. I can use some functions like calculator or locking of the windows but the rest of the keyboard doesn't function. I tried to contact Logitech support and they said we will be contacting with you in 10 minutes. So far nobody called. The PC is new and up to date, just actualized it with latest actualization, I doubt it's the problem with the bluetooth software.
@@hemalmistry I was going to change my bulky but wonderful MX mouse because I was always bumping into the keyboard. I even tried a trackball, what a nightmare if you're a designer. Probably will add a blue tooth numeric keypad because I miss that on the mini. Overall great keyboard like the big brother
Hey Hemal, just wanted to reach out and say thank you for your review. You have a nice calm way to present things. As I am a marketing pro allow me one little tip for your TH-cam-Channel. Use a more modern transition between the parts of the video for your titles and your channel will quickly gain more followers. Seems a very little things, but just believe me it will boost your followers. You and your good content deserve it. ✌😁. One new follower - right now. Cheers - Greg
Much appreciated Greg, that’s kind of you to provide feedback, I’ll take a look at other options for transitions on Final Cut for my titles, do you have any suggestions which ones? Is it specifically titles only or did you mean b roll too?
I have had this keyboard for over a year. Cheap plastic surface that wears and stains quickly. The shell has flex in it. The keys are extremely heavy to press and you bottom out to type. Generally bad typing experience Overall Software is decent for automation but worse than others in this class. Takes spills extremely well. In this price range you can purchase aluminum shells, proper mechanical keys in any choice you want and better software programmability This keyboard while not bad is definitely not worth the price when there are so many better options to choose from on the market. It would be fantastic to see logitech add a real premium keyboard to its line up that deserved to sit beside the mx master mouse but this really isn't it.
Thats true, it would be great if it were aluminium. Interesting to know your experience with the keyboard, I’ll be curious to see how mine wears over time. Which other keyboards are better in your opinion?
I just ordered this together with the MX Master S3 mouse so I'm really curious what other keyboard would you recommend. I'm using a Corsair K40 now since ages together with a Razer Naga Pro mouse and while I'm overall satisfied but I want a wireless keyboard, quite, modern looking and try the low profile together a productivity and ergonomic mouse. I'm more focused on work and learning as a programmer than on gaming.
Why didn't you address the main reason for purchasing this keyboard? The ability to connect to up to 3 different computers is, by far, the best reason for buying this device.
This ist the gen 1. keyboard, so the MX Keys (without S). The 2nd gen (Keys S). has a few other buttons in the top row

Oh ok, thanks for the tip, I guess there’s no harm in giving it a go. Thanks for mentioning it. 👍🏽
Hi, really good review! Thanks for taking the time to make such good content. 😊
Very kind of you, thank you 🙂🙏🏽
If you could schedule it to light up on its own at night and turn off during day time it would be awesome
That would be great 👍🏽

Oh that’s awesome that it’s lasting longer than 5 months. Good to know that you prefer it over the Magic Keyboard. Do you use any smart actions?
I use smart actions to open all the Web browsers I need for the day. Instead of opening one by one, they all open by one click off a Botton yeah! 🥳
Nice one 🙌🏽 That’s a great way to use it, for repetitive tasks.
Great video Hemal! Are you able to assign the keyboard to an iPhone for any of the options?
Thanks 🙂 Yes you can, although I never use it that way but I know you can.

That sounds very frustrating. Hopefully you found a more suited keyboard.

What kind of mic do you use? sounds great
Thanks, it’s the Boya BY-M1S Lav Microphone

There maybe ghosts touching the keyboard
i could never imagine turning a keyboard off every single day , then turning it on the next day. is that really what you've been doing?
