So, I've just noticed that the year on the camera is 2020 (0:16, 2:19, 2:41, 3:05, 3:29, 3:51, 3:53) and guess what theory related song just came out on also 2020? Exactly, Inochi No Tabekata. Does this have to do with anything? Is this proof of the correlation between the two MVs? Did Eve really think that far ahead when making this? Am I just losing it? Probably, I need help
More specifically, the 3:53 set is dated June 10, with the others dated November (11?), so take it how you will. It's almost certainly connected to Inochi no Tabekata from the corpse-in-the-garbage "blink and you miss it" moment in that one ( At about 0:47 into it - th-cam.com/video/U7L-3VXAkSA/w-d-xo.html )
The best thing about listening to music in a foreign language is the way you don't even try to understand the lyrics and the whole vibe and emotion is transmitted through the vocal performance

Fun fact: If you listen carefully, there is actually 3 voices singing. Eve's, the girl's and the blue guy. The girl's voice can be heard at first"uwuuwuwu uwauwau" and last heard at the second last " Kimi wa kyou mo stay". The blue guy's voice can be heard but not clearly when they are at the chorus.
I think the music video is about a guy who had been fine with assimilating into his society, in his case the ghetto, despite wanting more, but that changed when he met the girl in the video. They decided to leave their town together, but he let his anxiety, the blue guy, control him and he backed out. The girl went off on her own and ended up being killed. At 3:06 there's tape of her with a figure who I believe is the one that killed her. The guy blames himself and doesn't know what to do anymore. Meanwhile the adults in the town start to use the girl's death as a cautionary tale about leaving. That it showcases how the people in their society aren't meant for the outside world and that everyone should stay. The girl switches eye color throughout the video. When she is depicted with brown eyes I think that's who is actually was and shows actual events that took place. However when she has red eyes it's the town's version of her. So at 1:36 it's the adults using her to scare other kids into staying. But after time the guy can't seem to be able to separate who the girl really was and all the false depictions of her. That's why he's chasing her at 1:55. And how at 2:02 when the image is clearly different from how she normally looked and saying "life was sentimental", which the guy states isn't like her, he starts stating how this version of her is reflecting in his eyes beautifully so he is beginning to believe the adults' viewpoint. But this ends up conflicting him more because while it's easy to become absorbed in the message he knows that's not what he wanted or what the girl would have wanted for him. The blue guy is waiting for his decision which is why he's always moving as if he's trying to get him to hurry up. At 2:44 I think the shoes symbolize the desire for more because heels are wore at sophisticated events, so not shoes regularly wore where they live. The reason they are all hanging is because this desire is a death trap to the people in the ghetto. After the girl dies the guy doesn't know what to do so his community pushes him to video games(1:44) and he's thankfully for the distraction but this also just furthers the community's message. His dependence on video game shows that he's not ready for the real world outside of the fence. At the end I have two theories and I'm not sure which I think is more likely. One is that the ending is more literal, that the guy ends up killing himself instead of dealing with his issues, and his body is now forever in the ghetto. Two is that the huge monster destroys who he was. It ate his head because he is losing his personality and letting himself become a part of the town. Overall I think no matter alive or dead the guy stays in the town because at 2:59 the girl is shown outside the small room while he's inside the room, meaning the town. He appears to be trying to find his way out, but 3:30 he remains inside the small room and hasn't changed. Meanwhile the girl isn't there anymore which could mean his chance already left so he's struck.
I feel like the girl is the monster. We see the monster banging on the table as if it's hungry and can't wait to eat. Then we see the girl standing around a bunch of pairs of shoes hanging from the ceiling except the one she's holding. Because she's still hunting him, he I snt dead yet so she only has one shoe instead of a pair like the others. Also only 2 people have red eyes in the entire video. The girl and the monster. She's hunting him while giving him a false sense of escape/safety. When he's about to break free she sees she no longer has power over him and eats him restarting the cycle. When you see the body at the end it's his body and you see a white shoe sticking out
If we take most of this literally: So this guy tried to get implemented in society despite being an outcast (he went beyond the barbed wire in front), but of course he had fears and everything went according to them (bad) except for a girl like him (he transforms into her multiple times and they both sing at the same time once), that accepted and understood him. He didn't know how to take the next step though and stood in place (and thus they drifted apart). He was too scared as to how to approach her as he didn't want to damage what he had (Scared of letting go, all you can do is sutay). He was still desperately chasing after her and looked up to her (and felt lost), but he never could become closer to her. Blue guy is the anxiety, the set of eyes glaring at him despite the fact he heard no voice in the beginning. As he and the girl drifted apart, (boi is searching for her in the wrong places, eventually going into panic, searching in the dark) and eventually stopped meeting altogether (due to him doing nothing. Now anxiety sets in, having waited for this moment), his hope was lost and a flood of emotions (aka water) came and fueled his anxiety, letting it loose. Mc starts running away from his problems and emotions, but that onlg creates more monstrosities. Earlier in the video we see a mannequin in a trash can -- we see his corpse in the trash can at the end. He was probably contemplating suicide (the mannequin in the trash can mostly. When he meets the girl and afterwards also discovering video games as an escape, the can is empty. He realized games are still just fakes and throws them away, unsatisfied. He looks at the trash can. He also says life is like a soap bubble spilled on coffee, aka bitter and short-lived. Also, bubbles represent the pureness of a child, coffee represents the struggles of reality) anxiety set loose (the boye also blocking the girl from his life, who looks at him with a sad expression), it attacked the mc-- he did it Of course this could mean like a hundred different things but this is one of them and the one i personally think is right so Edit: some more stuff i forgot to mention but i still forgot the word describing the taste of coffee Edit 2: Green Tea Edit 3: Ok so at 3:21 there's this really sharp guy i think represents his intellect side, the opposite of the emotional one, the one that's there to keep balance. The reasons i think this is are 1. (Kind of bad one but hey) it looks the part, plus it's sharp, geometrical, unlike the bulky anxiety and the other weird monsters. 2. it's trying to wake mc up from his trance like state, it knows emotions are preparing to flood, it tries to balance it out. Also mc doesn't run away from it, it's on good terms with it Edit 4: Also, when Mc transforms into the girl, he only sees with one eye, in 2D. He doesn't see the depth of the situations, like the girl does. That's most likely a big part what made him unstable. In actuality, we rarely see his eyes. He has them, but rarely uses them. "Just as expected. Well, saying that would be a lie, but..." oozes him being too pessimistic to observe the world around him well Edit 5: After almost two years, i still don't get the shoes It could reference seeing the world through someone else's shoes, but that's an English idiom so, no matter how well it fits, i don't think it's the case. Best i can do is "it probably references a japanese idiom" but that's not an explanation
@@emeraldwolf3494 Holy Frick! so if the name of the boy is Seki Otogiri, then the name of the blue man is Janitor (correct me if it's the real name of the blue man). Then we only need to know the real name of the girl in this mv.
Im incredibly late to this comment section. Seeing as their are already multiple essay length comments on people's theories ill summarize this to bullet points to save you some time :). I believe that: • The boy is an outsider, a reject from society, someone that doesnt fit in, yet he is trying to integrate into society (crossing the wire fence in the beginning). • The blue man is the embodiment of the boy's anxiety and fear. • The integration goes very poorly, and he is considering suicide (the mannequin in the trash bin) however one thing goes well... • He meets a girl who understands him, who gives him a chance, she knows what it is like to be a reject, yet she still functions in society. She is perfect in the boy's eyes. This meeting gives the boy hope, (the next shot of the trash bin, this time it is empty, his suicidal thoughts are being warded off). • However the boy is terrified to take the next step, he is scared the girl will abandon him if he confesses his love for her, "afraid of letting go now, afraid to move", (despite the fact that this is exactly what she needs him to do). He does his best to keep the situation exactly as it is, frozen in place "so here you'll always stay". • However due to his unwillingness to make any further moves towards the girl they begin to drift apart (the blue man standing under the umbrella with his arm around the girl, as it was his anxiety which took the girl from him). • The boy tries his hardest to recover what he has lost, (him running after the girl and searching in the dark for her). However it cannot be done, his opportunity for happiness was stolen from him by the blue man, and now despair sets in (flooding water represents him drowning in despair) he tries to escape it and runs from it, but ultimately it catches him. • His ward against suicidal thoughts having been taken from him by the blue man, and utter despair having caught him, the boy is now at the mercy of his dark thoughts, at which point his anxiety transfroms into a gigantic unknowably horrific monster which murders him (the boy commits suicide). At the end the trash bin is filled with the boy's corpse, and the blue man stares down proudly at the atrocity that he caused, his handywork. • The reason we see the girl in the final few shots is because the boys final thoughts were of the girl, his regret and what could have been, she is seen earlier standing behind police tape, with a mournful look on her face, i believe this is her reaction when she discovers that the boy ended his life, she feels this way because she was still waiting for him to admit his love...
Alright, after listening to this and watching the video for over a month, I'll take a crack at what I think this means. The way I see it, the song's about a young person searching for their true self, hindered by their anxiety. We start out seeing a lot of billboards, which is a good way to build atmosphere, but at the same time seems to have very little meaning. Notice that they're incredibly crowded though, more than any reasonable street would ever let happen. Immediately afterward we see the main character walking past various paintings filled with disjointed arrangements of patterns. They all seem to be staring, as if constantly watching for something important or great. The Blue Faced Man appears next, bouncing in a chair. Bouncing in a chair is usually a sign of restlessness. We see him bouncing in chairs frequently as well. It happens again at 2:00, 2:04, and finally at 3:34. He also seems to be watching the main character from a distance throughout the video, and later acts out against the protagonist. Also note that when he first appears, the lyrics state "I can feel a set of glaring eyes on me." In fact, every time he's alone on screen, the lyrics take on a fearful or apathetic nature. This leads me to believe that he is a representation of our protagonist's anxiety toward the future. Never really stopping him full on, but constantly watching from a distance and judging his actions. The scene with the dinner table seems to also indicate that it's greedy, and hungers for something. Next are quite a few quick shots of lanterns. It doesn't serve a lot of purpose, but it does show that the world around our character is huge and intimidating. Towering buildings as far as the eye can see. An infinity symbol then turns into barbed wire that restricts the protagonist. The symbolism here can take on a lot of different forms, but the one that I get out of it is that the infinite possibilities of the world feel restricted away from him. Blue Faced Man appears once more, holding a lighter that he's flicking on and off. This is important to note for no other reason than that the protagonist is seen smoking at several other points in the video. It's likely a coincidence, but it's strange that a lighter would be used of all things. If your really want to stretch it, you could say that not smoking causes anxiety through nicotine withdrawal. The protagonist then crumples up a piece of something, while the lyrics are a quote that says "Just as I imagined." which is continued in words stating "Saying that would be a lie, but -" This seems to indicate that something happened which was out of the main character's expectations, causing frustration. The following lyrics "Life was degenerate" hold a lot of weight as well. It seems that whatever went wrong was originally meant to change the protagonists feeling on life. "Like a spilled bubble on coffee." Bubbles are meant to go away if left sitting for long enough, and have short lifespans. Meaning that if life was degenerate like a bubble on spilled coffee, it was short, and meant to go away quickly. Proceeding a bit further, we see the main character sitting in a chair facing the sun. Remember this chair, as it's important later. Following this, we get our first sight of the only human female character in the entire video. She morphs from the main character's reflection in water. She's also smiling unlike the main character. The next scene is a quick flash that has our protagonist morphing into a ton of different things. He switches first to the Blue Faced Man, then to the girl, then into a monster briefly, and finally a white-haired version of himself surrounded by eyes, before finally coming back to himself. This white-haired version isn't seen anywhere else in the video, and you could easily miss it if you weren't paying attention. It seems that the eyes also belong to the Blue Faced Man, as they look identical to his. This leads me to believe that this is how his anxiety perceives him. The lyrics in the chorus start here, stating "Don't know how, don't know how to take another step." It seems that all of these versions of our main character are him being unsure of how to leave behind the old world he once knew. "Is such the nature of this hippy town?" Hippy seems to indicate that the town is careless, and notice that the lyrics after this are "How can I, How can I find the reason everything is precious?" further showing that the protagonist feels that the town doesn't care about anything, so he has to find the reason that it's all important. Ending this is "It's just to sound easy on the ears," this would seem to tell us that he doesn't feel that anything is really important, and the accompanying garbage bin seems to support this. The next few shots aren't particularly important, but the hands grabbing from the "other side" seems to show that something wants him to go to another place, or taken in a more metaphorical sense, pass away and go to whatever is past death, or the "other side." The next few shots once again aren't particularly important, other than the one of the main character pointing a gun to the Blue Faced Man's head, seemingly showing that the protagonist has a hatred towards him. The lyrics of "Not knowing the reason, you stay again today," seem to show that our main character also has no way of going forward not knowing this reason that "Everything is precious." We then get to this scene with several people cheering at video games being played. The lyrics here are "Y'all are too kind, Y'all are too kind taking care of me." Video games are considered a method of escapism, meaning that "taking care of him" is most likely letting him escape from his real life for a bit. The next shot of the protagonist is on a balcony, with a hand waving past, and then disappearing. The protagonist then turns around to find nothing. The lyrics of "Find sympathy, or just throw it away" seem to be a moral dilemma of him questioning if he wants to be given pity by others around him, or if he wants to tough it out alone even more. "It's gonna start anyway" seems to show that even if he found someone to take pity on, it's not going to fix something coming up in the far future. We then see that he's chasing after the female version of himself. In media and culture, women are seen as symbols of beauty and perfection. This leads me to believe he's chasing after what he believes to be the ideal version of himself, and failing as it's too far away at all times. This is followed by the Blue Faced Man sitting at a dinner table, and banging his silverware against the table. This shows impatience and hunger on his part. If we truly believe that he's a representation of anxiety and apathy, this means that he's been waiting a long time for something good to happen, but is afraid it's not going to come. We then see the male and female versions of our protagonists sitting as well, the light only on the female version of him. This further solidifies that he believes this is the ideal he should be. He reaches out to her, and she draws back and off frame. Again his hand seems to fall in this light. This light seems to show "perfection" and since he's not perfect, the light causes him to doubt himself and give up. The next few shots hold similar things to what come before, and a bird that flips a picture of a couch around to reveal the Blue Faced Man once more. This couch, which shows up at multiple points, is obscured by his anxiety. We then see the Blue Faced Man put a picture frame in front of his face, and contort it once more to show his face at a different angle. Following this, the blue man's hand can be seen twisting the picture frame to obscure the "imperfect" version of our protagonist. Then we can see the girl once more, surrounded by high-heel shoes. The camera zooms in slowly on this bright scene, we then cut to our main character looking through the window, being watched by the Blue Faced man, blurry in the background until he's brought to the forefront. The girl is shown once more, and bites into a shoe that spills blood. Blood commonly induces fear, so it's safe to assume that if she's perfect, that perfection also induces anxiety in him. A couple of shots later, the boy is seen searching around on the floor in a small room. The girl is outside the room though. This indicates that he's searching for his true and ideal self in the wrong place. He's then searching on the street, with the Blue Faced Man's boots only partway off the top of the screen. His ideal self is then seen being held by another person, and she looks uncomfortable. She's not there of her free will, even though she's supposedly perfect to him. He then sees his hands looking around, but nothing in front of him. He's completely lost, and he's still searching even though he can't get anywhere without seeing the world around him. The boots of his anxiety then step forward, spurring back into the chorus. His ideal self then gets close to him before slipping away, and he turns around to be confronted by nothing but a monster. As he searches, he's confronted by a part of him that isn't what he wants. The Town begins to flood, and water rushes about everywhere, leaving the chair that the Blue Faced Man is on in complete dark. The world that used to be light in the first scene with the chair, now is completely shrouded in darkness, and his anxiety has completely taken hold of this chair of significant importance. Water hands are also holding the protagonist down, and leaves him completely helpless. The Blue Faced Man walks forward as a bunch of onlookers watch, and transforms into a giant beast that kills the protagonist. The last camera shots have nobody in them, and the girl appears one last time looking at the camera. The song stops, and we see the protagonists body cut up into pieces in a trash can. The Blue Faced Man is staring down into it. There's only anxiety now.
I didn't see anxiety. I saw absurdity and how this generation is dealing with rhetoric that isn't leading anyone anywhere. Everyone is two faced. Everyone gives lip service. No one actually wants to do anything to change the things that are shackling and killing us. That includes the people we care about. And that's pretty much what the lyrics are. That's the nature of this hippy town, anyway.
Here's my take on the meaning of the song after watching it 20+ times lol oops forgive me in advance for being all over the place, im not good at flowing smoothly between ideas. ...I think this song is about the singer and their childhood friend or sister that he grew up with before running away. _You all have taken such good care of me_ _...Though I don't remember it_ The singer is looking back on how they have moved on from their traditional 'hippie' hometown that had such strange traditions and customs, as he saw it anyway, which is why everyone looks so monstrous and alien. Even with this, he wants to forget about his past. He doesn't remember it on purpose to move on. I think he was rebellious, growing restless and not wanting to participate in the traditions whereas the girl is obedient and obliges to them -- hence how in the music video she bites down on the shoe, 'indulging' in the practices versus him crushing a paper ball in his hand, renouncing it himself. At 3:05, note how there's the hand of an elder on her shoulder? She fits right in, being good and compliant. _"It's all important,"_ is what the elders would tell the singer if he questioned the importance of the traditions, (at 3:22 it looks like a monster is lecturing him, and just drilling something into his head) _"That's just easy on the ears"_ is what he would personally think about it -- it's about the equivalent of asking 'why is the sky blue?' 'because god made it that way', the latter is an easier answer than just going off about wavelengths and light. But with this, he becomes restless and moves to the other side of the barbed wire -- leaving his sister/friend/crush alone and reminiscing about her _'scared of letting go'_ and _'staying again today'_ -- remaining in that old town and satisfied with her comfortable, familiar life. Perhaps she didn't move on with him because she was scared of change? The real world is scary, and starting a new life is lonely. _(Anyone's fine. Anyone's fine, so isn't there anyone out there?)_ _In some place I long for you always_ _Each time, I would almost lose myself_ She was the only person he could relate to in that town, and he worries for her well-being, thinking that she's brainwashed. He misses her very dearly. At 2:13, perhaps he tried to bring her with him, but she stayed behind. As for the main monster in the video, I could think that it's a parent? Maybe his/their abusive father... it's always watching over the boy and following him. 1:33 the singer has a gun to the father's head 1:41 _you all have taken such good care of me,_ but it's showing video games. Video games were an escapism from that bizarre world, he's talking about the games taking good care of him.. not his elders. 2:03 is a 'family' dinner 2:39 is a 'family' photo 2:50 he's looking at his father through sliding glass door of the balcony(?) and into their house. Their relationship is rather turbulent, with lots of tension. 2:59 the boy is trapped and she's free -- perhaps he's always punished and neglected. Grounded? Crazy? He's always crawling on the floor like that.. 3:03 the boy is crawling on the floor again, but this time near trash? There's a pair of feet in the top right watching him do it, maybe it's making him look for food or something? at 3:09 the pair of feet lunge 3:42 the girl stays behind silently and watches as he's being punished for being so rebellious _(If I stay here, biting my tongue and saying nothing / It was as I had expected)_ Also note how most of the video is through camera feeds. Children should be seen and not heard :^) but anyway thats my fake deep analysis thanks for coming to my TED talk EDIT: apparently the english closed captions have changed since i first wrote this so its kinda awkward but the general idea is still there
Fireflufferz damn, this is another theory that sounds so plausible! I'm loving the comments In this video, everyone's interpretation of the song is so original!
Fireflufferz So what does the song mean when it says something among the lines of "Everyday was like that, until you appeared and-" who appeared? Going on your logic, it surely wouldn't have been the girl right?
The closed captioning on the vid show the lyrics as _"The foam on my coffee spilled_ _Every day, every day was like that; Before me you appeared, and-"_ He 'saw' her while looking at his reflection in either the coffee cup or rain puddle, remembering her
Fireflufferz ah, i wasn't unclear on this, i mean the meaning of the lyrics confused me. Also, those wasn't the lyrics that confused me. It was the one among the lines of "if i stay here / biting my toungue as hard as i can / it was as i expected"
for a while i thought that only the girl and the blue man were the same person (the flickers, the shared umbrella in the last few moments, etc.) but after rewatching the video several times has led me to believe that they all represent parts of himself. the water at the end represents him finally being overwhelmed by the two negative sides of him (the girl being desire, a dream he can't achieve/reach no matter how desperately he wants to. she eats with him, because she's technically always on his mind) and the blue man representing depression/him giving up (being the force that ends him in the end, watching over him while he's sitting next to his desire almost as if he'd be punished if he did something wrong). that's just my view on it, though!
I think this song fits for those who don't fit the molds of society - especially people with traditional qualifications /not in demand/mental health issues/jobless and struggling to keep up with the ever changing demands. Japan's work environment is really competitive and stressful and it's likely to be linked with it's high suicide rate. The song speaks to people with depression - 'unable to move forward in the tradition of this hippy town', 'scared of letting go', 'today again you stay' - by 'tradition' he means he's unable to live and work like the others around him to survive, out of 'fear' he's unable to end his repetitive life and the word 'again' implies that staying alive is a burden to him and its been on his mind for a while. The girl may be a symbol for hope/the happiness he craves but can't attain. At one point of the song he says 'you are so kind for talking care of me' - he prolly uses video games/entertainment as a form of escapism.
@@Misspellednumbers It took me a while to notice but our main character isn't the main form of all of this. They may all be the same person but the boy was thrown away in the beginning. Then he found a refuge by hiding within the vast majority of his parts. There are more than just the girl, the boy, and the blue guy in his head. Blue guy is the actual person. The boy is just a more trusted part that's been there. Hence the line about staying in the same day. He's got history with blue guy who is the real person. The boy is the main person with blue guy because he reigns higher significance than the other pieces. During this status he encounters the girl who persuades him to not worry about the effects of chasing her. Being oblivious to everything around them and focusing on just the two. This is why the boy is making all the other pieces mad and why blue guy needs to cut him out. He begins to conceive that the past him is holding him back and must be removed to continue forward. Though they housed and consoled the boy since he was the older and childish part they had to kill him and 'drown him out' because he became oblivious to the whole. This is why girl disappears with him after the childish years were thrown out. Represented by blue guy at the trash can. Today again you stay.

The intro build up for this song is one of his best in my opinion. The beginning shots of the town and the way the music works gives off a vibe that I just can't exactly describe.

I guess, that's right.
Well, inochi no tabekata also has the ghetto vibes so.....
Can we assume that Inochi no Tabekata happens right after Tokyo Ghetto and on the same place??
If I'm not wrong there was one shot in the new MV that is of a trash can with Tokyo Ghetto body parts in it
More specifically, the 3:53 set is dated June 10, with the others dated November (11?), so take it how you will. It's almost certainly connected to Inochi no Tabekata from the corpse-in-the-garbage "blink and you miss it" moment in that one ( At about 0:47 into it - th-cam.com/video/U7L-3VXAkSA/w-d-xo.html )

Yep
Bravo! Am definetly gonna rewatch this to see if i spot your viewpoints.
How does this only have 10 likes
2:02 also the fact that she was transparent means she was a ghost maybe?
And at the end you see a garbage can with her body? Idk it sounds scary but if you look closely you see it
I feel like the girl is the monster. When you see the body at the end it's his body and you see a white shoe sticking out
0:04イヤホン右だけにするとまた違う境地に達せる。

Also, bubbles represent the pureness of a child, coffee represents the struggles of reality) anxiety set loose (the boye also blocking the girl from his life, who looks at him with a sad expression), it attacked the mc-- he did it
Of course this could mean like a hundred different things but this is one of them and the one i personally think is right so
Edit: some more stuff i forgot to mention but i still forgot the word describing the taste of coffee
Edit 2: Green Tea
Edit 3: Ok so at 3:21 there's this really sharp guy i think represents his intellect side, the opposite of the emotional one, the one that's there to keep balance. Also mc doesn't run away from it, it's on good terms with it
Edit 4: Also, when Mc transforms into the girl, he only sees with one eye, in 2D. He doesn't see the depth of the situations, like the girl does. That's most likely a big part what made him unstable. In actuality, we rarely see his eyes. He has them, but rarely uses them. "Just as expected. Well, saying that would be a lie, but..." oozes him being too pessimistic to observe the world around him well
Edit 5: After almost two years, i still don't get the shoes
It could reference seeing the world through someone else's shoes, but that's an English idiom so, no matter how well it fits, i don't think it's the case. Best i can do is "it probably references a japanese idiom" but that's not an explanation

Im incredibly late to this comment section. Seeing as their are already multiple essay length comments on people's theories ill summarize this to bullet points to save you some time :).
I believe that:
• The boy is an outsider, a reject from society, someone that doesnt fit in, yet he is trying to integrate into society (crossing the wire fence in the beginning).

The next few shots aren't particularly important, but the hands grabbing from the "other side" seems to show that something wants him to go to another place, or taken in a more metaphorical sense, pass away and go to whatever is past death, or the "other side."
The next few shots once again aren't particularly important, other than the one of the main character pointing a gun to the Blue Faced Man's head, seemingly showing that the protagonist has a hatred towards him. The lyrics of "Not knowing the reason, you stay again today," seem to show that our main character also has no way of going forward not knowing this reason that "Everything is precious."
We then get to this scene with several people cheering at video games being played.
Holy crap...
Can't believe :|
Oh wow that was a great perspective!

Here's my take on the meaning of the song after watching it 20+ times lol oops
forgive me in advance for being all over the place, im not good at flowing smoothly between ideas.
...I think this song is about the singer and their childhood friend or sister that he grew up with before running away.
_You all have taken such good care of me_
_...Though I don't remember it_
The singer is looking back on how they have moved on from their traditional 'hippie' hometown that had such strange traditions and customs, as he saw it anyway, which is why everyone looks so monstrous and alien.
_"It's all important,"_ is what the elders would tell the singer if he questioned the importance of the traditions, (at 3:22 it looks like a monster is lecturing him, and just drilling something into his head)
_"That's just easy on the ears"_ is what he would personally think about it -- it's about the equivalent of asking 'why is the sky blue?' 'because god made it that way', the latter is an easier answer than just going off about wavelengths and light.
Anyone's fine, so isn't there anyone out there?)_
_In some place I long for you always_
_Each time, I would almost lose myself_
She was the only person he could relate to in that town, and he worries for her well-being, thinking that she's brainwashed. He misses her very dearly. At 2:13, perhaps he tried to bring her with him, but she stayed behind.
As for the main monster in the video, I could think that it's a parent? Maybe his/their abusive father... it's always watching over the boy and following him.
1:33 the singer has a gun to the father's head
1:41 _you all have taken such good care of me,_ but it's showing video games. Video games were an escapism from that bizarre world, he's talking about the games taking good care of him.. not his elders.
2:03 is a 'family' dinner
2:39 is a 'family' photo
2:50 he's looking at his father through sliding glass door of the balcony(?) and into their house.
There's a pair of feet in the top right watching him do it, maybe it's making him look for food or something? at 3:09 the pair of feet lunge
3:42 the girl stays behind silently and watches as he's being punished for being so rebellious _(If I stay here, biting my tongue and saying nothing / It was as I had expected)_
Also note how most of the video is through camera feeds. Children should be seen and not heard :^)
but anyway thats my fake deep analysis thanks for coming to my TED talk
EDIT: apparently the english closed captions have changed since i first wrote this so its kinda awkward but the general idea is still there
Fireflufferz damn, this is another theory that sounds so plausible! I'm loving the comments In this video, everyone's interpretation of the song is so original!
He goes searching in the trash, then later ends up in it... ;-;
Fireflufferz So what does the song mean when it says something among the lines of "Everyday was like that, until you appeared and-" who appeared? Going on your logic, it surely wouldn't have been the girl right?
The closed captioning on the vid show the lyrics as
_"The foam on my coffee spilled_
_Every day, every day was like that; Before me you appeared, and-"_
He 'saw' her while looking at his reflection in either the coffee cup or rain puddle, remembering her
Fireflufferz ah, i wasn't unclear on this, i mean the meaning of the lyrics confused me.

@@Misspellednumbers It's cool to interpret it that way, but most of Eve's songs aren't that straightforward
つまりどうゆうことだってばよ

ファイトソングの龍子はまず人間じゃなさそうなんで別人だとは思うんだけど…

There's just something about this song I can't stop thinking about, I can't count how many times I've repeated this song anymore.
aaaahhhh sammmeee
Yeah same, just hits different than his other songs :^(
The intro beat
The intro build up for this song is one of his best in my opinion. The beginning shots of the town and the way the music works gives off a vibe that I just can't exactly describe.
