Ive had several helmets over the years. Good, bad ,and otherwise. I’ve been using the Oxygen helmet the past two seasons, and LOVE it! For my riding, this is bar none the BEST bucket I’ve ever had! Love the wrap you have! Gotsta get me one of those!
Totally agree with you on the Oxygen in regards to venting. I also feel like you should be able to turn off the internal elements while leaving the heated visor working. For warmer days, the ability to do that would make a massive difference. Also, if you are a super active/aggressive rider, I feel like the Oxygen is good only if you run multiple helmets like you are doing and not as an exclusive helmet. As for the 509 Altitude, the venting is in the name "Altitude", its clearly designed for mountain riding where people want a ton of venting, I feel like if you are going to ride trail with an MX set-up you need to pay close attention to the venting before purchasing it, as you point out with the Scorpion. Some companies (like Fly Racing) offer vent plugs for winter applications which either come with the helmets or can be purchased separately. Alternatively, purchase a winter specific mx helmet that is not designed specifically for mountain riding.
Hey Owen! Thanks for tuning in. Your going to love that helmet!! Check out o2wraps.ca for any oxygen wrap you want. You can even work with Gary (its his website) to customize a wrap for you. I have an Oxygen and a CKX Mission that I use for specific rides. Obviously night riding goes to the Oxygen but I also really like the Mission for several reasons.
I ave always had issues with full face helmet they always fogged up i am worried about spending that kind of money to find out that if fogs I have a very warm face and I think causes the fogging any tips my current helmet is the same 509 helmet
Mission helmet has zero fogging, even without the cord - and I mean zero. Its insane. Oxygen also has no fogging as long as its plugged in. You will not have issues with either of them. Cheers, Jesse
My O2 SE fogs up at 25F with original face shield and 2nd FS I bought. Only solution is to open shield up a bit but this will Not work at 10F and colder. I alway have 3 bars of power too.
Hey David. It really depends. Mike and I are most definitely experienced high speed riders and while we love our oxygens, on the warmer days they are way too warm and our open face helmets come in handy. But I would agree with you that my oxygen (or closed face) is my go to helmet, and the only one I would even consider running on multi-day trips. Cheers, Jesse
Bottom line, anything but an open face, MX style helmet, looks like you’re an old man. Come on, you know it’s true. I’m 43 years old and wouldn’t be caught dead in anything but an MX style helmet. Get a warm balaclava and don’t look silly 😂. I run a Klim F3 carbon and wouldn’t trade it for anything. Have had the 509 and others, and was very disappointed. Just gotta find what works for you.
Definitely prefer the looks but when you are running high speed trails, the pressure from the peak on your neck simply isn't worth it - especially once you hit 40! Neck will be sore real fast and is worst in -35 Celsius. For anything else, I agree that MX is the way to.
I don't care about looking like an old man and I'm 43,I care about being warm and being able to see as I can stay out longer and have to travel/ride for 80 miles

I just bought an Oxygen helmet because of all the good things I have heard about them. I am looking forward to using it this winter.
Your going to love it!
I Just got a New Black Oxygen Helmet and was wondering where you got the Yellow Wrap with the Red X on Back

Any experienced high speed rider will vote closed faced heated visor
