Is it possible to watch too much Movie Timelines? The reason I ask is I saw Raw Deal the other day, and Arnold pulled up for a showdown with the less successful Fratelli Brother in a car with a October 86 inspection sticker. After a shootout with Ralphie's Old Man, Arnold jumped in a getaway car with a December 85 sticker, and out loud I says, I says that places our timeline firmly between Oct and Dec of 85. Because Arnold would never get into a car without the safety inspection. So, do I watch too much Movie Timelines? Is that even possible?
Thanks for this! "For Y'ur Height Only" is a ton of fun. The Flints were some good times (as I recall). The Matt Helm ones had moments, but mostly coasted on charm. To my shame I haven't made time for the Lindsey Shonteff "bonds", but I hear they are good fun. And for Spy Hard, basically the best thing about that one is the opening theme, and it's all downhill after that
Ken Clark is my Eurospy boyfriend. I have all those movies. While not a Bond parody, Ken Clark's Tiffany Memorandum has one of my fave theme songs of all time. Thank you for including Wang Wang too - he's so cool.
I agree it's weird victor Bruno playing an Asian man but I feel like him playing king tut in batman 66 is excusable because he's not meant to be Egyptian he's an American professor who thinks he's king tut because of a brain injury, so he's not meant to be actually Egyptian
I guess at some point you'll have to do Johnny English. Sorry about that. And the Kingsmen series which have so many Bond references they are basically spoofs. But even if you are looking just at 60s spy movies that rip off or try to be James Bond, you could give up on the Horror and Sci Fi and just do that for the next few years. (Please don't!) But best of the bunch are That Man From Rio and the Bulldog Drummond movies. Jess Franco did one too. Sorry again.
31:10 A bit of 'kudos' implied that the Operation Kid Brother poster wasn't overwhelmingly Bond-ish. But I think you would agree, that much like they failed at making an overwhelmingly Bond-like clone movie, they were likely attempting to have their poster appear overwhelmingly Bond-ie... they simply failed as badly in that too.
Hammerhead and Deadlier Than the Male (and to a lesser degree its sequel Some Girls Do) and the funny French spoofs OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies and OSS 117: Lost in Rio are among the best Bond copies.
Weng Weng's chief is played by Tony Ferrer who was in a series James Bond inspired spy films as Agent X-44 from the 60's and 70's with a final reprisal in the 2007 reboot where he passes the mantle of Agent X-44. Another Filipino spoof is James Bone Agent 001 from 1986 and from Hong Kong Aces Go Places 3: Our Man From Bond Street aka Mad Mission 3 plus From Beijing with Love 1994 starring Stephen Chow.
Well done! You hit most of the notes, my personal number one would have been Deadlier than the Male. Another 60’s gem, Bulldog Drummond. Love me some spysploitation.
I do love me some Lindsay Shonteff. Surprised the Turkish 'Golden Boy' duology didn't make the list, maybe for a follow-up. There's just so many Eurospy Bond knock-offs that narrowing it down to 10 would be a mission impossible.
If you end up doing a sequel to this list, I would recommend "Unmasking the Idol" and it's far superior sequel "Order of the Black Eagle". Both feature Duncan Jax as our Bond stand in. In the first one he literally places his usual bets at the roulette table of 00 and 7.
Out of these 10 movies I've only seen two our Man Flint and spyard I like them both they were both entertaining they were both fun to had their quirks. The other one I've never even heard of but I might check out.
Thank you, I thought I was one of the only people on the planet alive anymore that remembers and mentioned Leonard Part 6 with Bill Cosby. I don't know if it counts as parody, spoof, or a spin off of Bond films but it definitely needs to be added to this list.
@@movietimelines I do remember there being some inconsistencies regarding the demon's summoning in part 2 for example. And what happened to the end of part 4. Where's the new fetus.
The two Vincent Price "Dr. Goldfoot" films ("Dr. Goldfoot & the Bikini Machine" and "Dr. Goldfoot & the Girl Bombs) were highly influential on elements within the Austin Powers' films (especially the fembots), and there was also a spoof film from reigning '60s Vegas comedy duo, Allen & Rossi called, "The Last of the Secret Agents." th-cam.com/video/iH2Y0hn-r5s/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
Batman 1966's King Tut wasn't supposed to be Egyptian. He was a Caucasian professor of Egyptology with trauma-induced delusions of being the actual King Tut.
Spy Hard, dies hard.....tried watching it again last week. first watched years back. i just stopped after 10-20mins and had a lightbulb moment. "its shit, I remember now" Flint movies were v good. Four your Height Only is on my TH-cam watch list(for years!!). It seems funny(did watch the first 10mins) The rest I can skip. Like most Bonds(seen them all, dont rate most)
Books? Movies? Cartoons? Comics? Video Games? Lasted decades? I think you have to admit there's at least one bigger.... ................. Godzilla, it's Godzilla.
Spy Hard was absolutely funny before spoofs and parodies forgot what they was spoofing instead focus on spoofing one film genre they added random crap that bogs down the entire film kind Superhero Movie,Epic Movie and Disaster Movie I give me a few chuckles but I wasn't dying with laughter like Spy Hard,Scary Movie and 2 .Even Jersey Shore Shark Attack completely made fun of Jersey Shore on MTV that actual laughed at.
Good list but I'm really suprised you didn't include Leonard Part 6 staring Bill Cosby. It definitely falls under the category of a James Bond spin off that could even count as parody. It's plainly obvious that it was intended to spoof Bond films.

welcome to my world! lol. a world of pausing on newspapers and magazine covers
🎵 The Budget below me 🎵
🎵 The Spy who cloned me 🎵

I've got to recommend When Eight Bells Toll, with Anthony Hopkins as this films Bond, looking into missing gold bullion off the Scottish coast.
Ken Clark is my Eurospy boyfriend. I have all those movies. While not a Bond parody, Ken Clark's Tiffany Memorandum has one of my fave theme songs of all time. Thank you for including Wang Wang too - he's so cool.
There's a series of movies about OSS 117, a French secret agent, also based on a series of novels.
How is For Your Height Only not #1? And that rap is awesome!!!😂😂😂
I agree it's weird victor Bruno playing an Asian man but I feel like him playing king tut in batman 66 is excusable because he's not meant to be Egyptian he's an American professor who thinks he's king tut because of a brain injury, so he's not meant to be actually Egyptian
Thanks for the upload. Always enjoy your content 😊
The Matt Helm films, Weng Weng films and Flint films are my favorites that i happily rewatch! You got me some films and a tv series to watch!
The helms and flint films are also my favorites. I don't know why but I'm not a huge bond fan. I don't hate them but I don't love them either.
Soooooo...if he's James Bon'd's brother than that means we finally know who James Bond Jr.'s dad is!
Canon.

I think both the Johnny English and Kingsman movies deserve their own Action Timelines videos.
I remember the Matt Helms movies even went to see one...but can't recall which one oh yeah I remember the Flint movies to.
Lets not forget Anthony Hopkins 'When Eight Bells Toll' in the 70s. Even the into music was 'Bondish'

Also Austin Powers says In Like Flint is his favourite movie
Hey Josh loving the new intro hope you and your ladies are having a great night 🐢
I loved Argoman.

So Mission Bloody Mary had some unofficial sequels AND some unofficial ones too ? Interesting......
Any sequel to this list should include If Looks Could Kill and Bill Murray's The Man Who Knew Too Little.
15:45 it's Harry Mudd!!!
Out of these 10 movies I've only seen two our Man Flint and spyard I like them both they were both entertaining they were both fun to had their quirks. The other one I've never even heard of but I might check out.
Where The Bullets Fly was also the title of a spaghetti western starring Marissa Mell
26:42 ohhhh no wonder i cant find it or any footage of it
great video, big fan of Flint but wish i could find the third film, surprised its not on youtube.
Hank!!!!!! One of the best wackpackers, ever. RIP Hank
You forgot A license to kill and Lenard part 6.
Thank you, I thought I was one of the only people on the planet alive anymore that remembers and mentioned Leonard Part 6 with Bill Cosby. I don't know if it counts as parody, spoof, or a spin off of Bond films but it definitely needs to be added to this list.
The Flint movies were saved by having a very good actor in the title role.
Wait...Spy Hard was made by Seltzer and Friedberg?
And it actually looks...decent enough
Wang Wang!!
Your Height Only looks awesome
No "Danger! Death Ray!"?
Bart Fargo!
next volume.
The Matt Helm novels are *nothing* like the movies at all
He’s the one responsible for all those horrible “(blank) Movie” movies?!
Bong Girls 😆
These look amazing 🤣 well the ones I haven’t seen 😂
Wouldn't "True Lies" and "XXX" be considered Bond Rip-Offs as well?
tv shows - get smart a man called slone
What about From Beijing with Love?
Horror Timelines? Someone made a typo lol
yeah, it’s a weird spot. because the list videos are sometimes not horror, but i like to keep them in the playlists with the other lists.
@movietimelines I thought you have an Action play list. Either way, I'm just busting your chops.
How can you have a top 10 bond rip offs and not include the original casino royal?
that one’s not really a ripoff, since it’s an official adaptation of a Bond novel, even if a weird one.
Josh you gotta do Unanswered Questions for Pumpkinhead and a video on its comic series too
Any questions you’d like to see me tackle?

What, no Agent for H.A.R.M.?
HELP PLEASE. Hi do you remember a movie pre 1987 where a secret agent type battles fembots with off switches in their necks .much appreciated.
Batman 1966's King Tut wasn't supposed to be Egyptian. He was a Caucasian professor of Egyptology with trauma-induced delusions of being the actual King Tut.

Couldn't get through The Silencers...Too much singing and dancing.
Neil Connery is just as good of an actor as his brother
sorry not sorry
