Messing around with the X95

  • I’ve been putting in good time and trying my best to teach myself how to run the X95.
Hopefully after all the time under the trigger and how many rounds through it I’ll have learned something, but regardless I’ve been having a lot of fun.
I look forward to being able to share my insights and what I’ve learned about this platform as time goes on.
I modified the rail cover so as to allow mounting of a Surefire Mini Scout without removing the panel. I like the fullness of the stock forend so far.
I removed the factory rail as it sat just a bit too low for me with my EOTech EXPS2, and replaced it with a full length Razorback rail from Gearhead Works. This was kind of a bummer because I really liked the capability of completely storing the factory sights into the rail, and replacing it meant losing those sights. As a result I went with a pair of Troy Micro HK sights for my back ups.

I have surefires (X300U/scout light/ mini scout) and streamlights (TLR 1HL/ TLR 2/ TLR 4), they’re awesome if you’re looking around for something like that

Question for you. Seems you upgraded the shell deflector too. what are you using now?

    • @PeaK808

Aloha nō! Wow! You caught that one, I’m impressed!
I did change out the shell deflector; I’m using a 300BLK shell deflector from bullpup armory. I’m finding with this one versus the stock deflector, the brass ejects in a much more downward angle and I get hit less often when shooting left handed.
Even with the stock deflector getting hit with brass is very minimal in MY experience with MY X95, but this deflector is much better🤙🏾

@@PeaK808 Thank you so much!! I have been looking for an angled deflector for so long and couldn't find one. There used to be one specifically made for X95 but it was long out of stock..

Hey brother. In that last shot it looks like you slapped on the MA buttpad. What do you think?

    • @PeaK808
      @PeaK808  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I like it enough that I’m going to get one for my TS12.
In my opinion, I think It’s solid and has a good feel while providing a better, more definite, and consistent point of contact to sit into my shoulder.
I don’t think it’s a “must” but if you have the extra cash to spend I do think it makes a noticeable difference to the feel and handling of your rifle once you have it shouldered.
When I get to doing the deep review on the x95 I’ll talk about the MA stock
      Hope this helps🤙🏾
