GOOD MORNING, HELLO, I RECIEVED MY F170 YESTERDAY, MAY 31ST 2024, I LOVE IT. IT PRINTS FAST AND I DON'T HAVE TO MIRROR IT, IT DOES IT OWN ITS OWN. WOW, I MADE 2 MUGS, COLOR SO VIBRANT. MY FIRST SUBLIMATION PRINTER. I'M SO EXCITED.
I got this printer several months ago, when my converted printer stopped printing. It has been great! But, I thought I'd mention/warn people. When I first got it, I did not purchase the Epson sublimation paper. I still had plenty of my previous Printer's Jack sublimation paper. That paper worked great with the converted printer, however, in this dedicated sublimation printer it had minor issues. While it was possible to make it work, the printer itself saturated the non-Epson paper. Meaning, the paper came out slightly wavy, and took forever to dry before you could actually transfer the print. Obviously you can tinker with that in the operating system's printer settings, but that's a hassle! This issue did not occur for me with the Epson branded paper, which is noticeably thicker. The Epson paper isn't the cheapest, but it is comparatively priced, so do get the Epson paper if you get this printer!
@@killmesoicanrespawn3775 I haven't done any of the same design with the new printer that I did with the previous converted printer. But I can say I am very happy with the colors I get from the dedicated printer and its associated inks! Particularly on photo panels -- in the printer setup dialog I pick that I am transferring to a hard surface, print, do the pressing, and the colors are great! Likewise I've done a few t-shirts (this is a hobby for me, not a business) and the colors have been equally nice. I would say, in a very unscientific way, the Epson sublimation inks might be more vivid after transferring than the previous inks (Printers Jack UV-resistant inks), particularly for photo transfers.

I just bought the Epson SC F170 a couple of weeks ago. It was spendy, but it’s been worth it. I debated between this and the F570, but I couldn’t justify paying the price tag of the F570, especially being new to sublimation. I have a Glowforge Pro, and while it’s not a waste of money, I could have saved and went with the Basic or Plus. I’m rarely doing large projects to justify paying more for the pass through. So, I used that logic in deciding between the F170 and the F570. I did buy the Epson paper to go with it so I can’t compare it to other sublimation paper. I don’t want to do anything to void my warranty with using non Epson ink and paper. The warranty and support was one of the main reasons I went with buying an Epson F170 vice converting an Epson printer. It’s so easy to set up straight out of the box (I’m on an iMac). Just make sure you follow the instructions and download the drivers and utility. 9 times out of 10, if it’s not working it’s because you didn’t successfully download the drivers and utility. I would recommend this printer to anyone who wants a warranty/support and for anyone who isn’t really doing large projects all the time…larger than 8.5 x 14. Buy this printer first and then upgrade later on, if needed. Oh, and I forgot! You also don’t have to mirror your project in your software (I use Silhouette Studio). The printer does it automatically when it prints it out even though the preview will show it as not mirrored.
Thank you for sharing, I am deciding if I get this or a Sawgrass. To start I think I will be getting this Epson, may you share how much in average do you spend in OEM Epson Sublimation and paper?

I am so glad I watched this. I am in the market for home use for creating crafts for a fundraiser. This is perfect. I can't wait to get one! No issue with cracking on the shirt? That is what I am worried about.
As always, you've done a great review! I purchased my F170 about two weeks ago, and I will never go back to a converted Epson again! I have been sublimating for a long time and have converted 6 Epsons. But on this printer I have run at least 25 sheets of EasySubli through with no pinwheels, paper jams or any other problems. Totally worth it! I only wish that Epson's large format sublimation upgrade wasn't a whopping $2500! (F570) It would be nice to find some middle ground for around $1000 or so. I don't have a need (yet) to print 24" wide. Love love love my printer. The efficiency is fantastic. My ink levels have barely moved! Already paid for it with the projects I've done.
I totally want to try EasySubli with this printer so I am happy to hear that it worked for you! I too want the F570 to come down in price or a middle ground printer!
OH SURE! I JUST replaced my old Epson I converted to another conversion. dang it! I am really glad they noticed and adapted to what us crafters were doing.
I literally just got my printer yesterday October 24, 2024. This video has been AMAZING. Thanks for helping me set my printer up. Now i'm going to try printing a tumbler. Where did you create your tumbler design?
I have the f170 I been using it for over a yr. I have had zero issues and I know it’s warranted! The only issue I have is I don’t like the epson sub paper. I use the asub paper and it works the best
The issue I had with the paper is that the colors for the same design were more muted with the epson paper and I don’t like that the epson paper doesn’t have writing on the back so it’s hard to see which side to print on. One side is white and the other is a pale yellow it’s very similar, with Asub paper u know which side to use. Other then that I truly love the epson F170 I just wished I had saved enough for the bigger printer. But I make due with slicing to make bigger designs. Just the price difference between the epson and the sawgrass ink had me sold.
@@maiger712 I couldn't agree with you more. Not only the initial price of the Sawgrass, but just having to deal with the maintenance, cost of ink and the print manager turned me off. I also do split designs when I need too, but I wish Epson would come out with a middle ground wide format printer. I'm not ready to spend $2500 for the F 570. I also don't know why Epson just doesn't make the back of the paper a different color or put a watermark on it. A-Sub is my go-to and it works fine.
I only use the Epson sublimation paper in mine and I’ve had zero issues (unless I’m printing on something that’s not coated for sublimation). I did buy some A-Sub paper as backup since I can’t buy the Epson sublimation paper on Amazon. But, I haven’t had to use the A-Sub yet. I love how compact this printer is (I haven’t had a need to print larger than 8.5 x 14 yet). I do agree that I had a hard time figuring out how to load the paper in the printer (which side goes up/down) and I had to research it. I was told that it’s because the Epson sublimation paper is a multi-use paper vice other sublimation papers that are just designated for sublimation only. I don’t know how accurate that is though.
I bought this printer back in December. It was hard to find but look for an authorized Epson printer distributor. I found one locally and it was the same price. Mine did not come with paper so I bought A-Sub and love it. My colors on everything have been great!
I like the fact the original epson sublimation ink is waaaaay cheaper than the ones like hiipoo wich seem to clog up the printer pretty fast, and having my warranty still checked!
WOW I'm blown away to know that any application works for printing with this! I'm shopping for a sublimation printer but I didn't want to be dependent on a creative cloud subscription if it wasn't absolutely necessary.
Hi Angie just got this printer. Setup is easy. My epson 2800 that was converted last weekend I had for little over a year. Don't have epson paper only Asub and it worked just fine. Print quality is great. Thank you for your video😊
First of all. Thank you Angie. I've been hoping you'd do one on this great printer. When I decided I wanted to get into sublimation I didn't want to spend a fortune for initial cost or supplies to keep it going. Then I found this one. I loved that it came with everything at a great price and the refill cost was low and I kept my warranty. I also got Epson's paper at the same time. I've had mine since last fall. I don't print very often but haven't had any issues with my ink drying up or requiring maintenance to use it. You can actually use paper up to a little over 40 in, I can't remember the exact length. It tells you this on Epson's site but no mention of how to do it. I did watch a video on YT from the only person that I've seen sell the 8.5 on a roll. It works really great. For Christmas I made lots of glass cutting boards, I used Inkscape and put all for on one long paper, you load it from the front. It did great. I made sure I used rigid to make sure the ink came out right. I think this is key. I've been putting off trying easi subli but after this review, I'm going to try it, I already have it. This printer is great. I love your tutorials so much
@@AngieHolden I'm surprised Epson doesn't have anything on it or what paper to use. It does show you can print the long sheets but that's it. I can give you my source. She has a video to show that all printers can print up to the 42. I ordered her paper, it came really quickly. It did a good job of printing as well. I liked that I could do multiple jobs on one long sheet which saved me time. I do a print preview to make sure it all will print the way I think. I use inkscape but I'm new to it, so I'm learning by error. Thanks again for all of your help
@@AngieHolden What I did is cut the paper to the size I wanted. The longest was the 47 but I didn't try to be exact because I could just put more designs on it. Then you have to load it through the paper tray, put it in as far as it goes, then push the paper tray in and it'll find the paper. In your settings you can set it to what you want. What I did was set my settings, size, rigid, mirror, on or off plus I set the print preview, especially when doing multiple designs on one sheet. Then save it, name it. The next time you need the same settings, you can pull that up and its already set. I hope this helps. Let me know if it didn't make since.

Black Friday sales ... here I come!
OK, I love watching your videos because you’re very informative! You’re more informative than the Epson website! My problem is I went through all the steps that you suggested and my blue is still printing purple. How can I fix it. I have tried two different programs, Pixler and cricket, and I’m still not sure what to do
This was a great tutorial. The only improvement I would suggest is to show us better the alignment pages. It's a problem for me as I have bad eyesight. Otherwise it was AWESOME! I've subscribed for more fun projects.
I just wanted to let you know that I finally got Easi Subli to print right on my Epson F170. I never had problems with it no drying like you did but I did have black marks across the paper. The last time I did it, it was for textile but I chose rigid and I also tried the standard, it was perfect, no marks on paper. Next I'll try it using textile and standard. I love my printer so much that I just ordered the F570 Pro.
I so love your videos. I do not hear well and I love that you put the writing so that I know what is being said. This video was great and am glad that Epson has come out with a reasonable price sublimation printer. Thank you for reviewing this printer
Thank you! I was glad I found your review as I was just looking at the F170. Your review was excellent and because of it I know it's the right machine for me.

Hello I just hooked up my F170 the color is lighter and for some reason my mirror doesn’t work on my design space I have to flip the image before I print it and the color in lighter is it the Epson ink it self ? I used hippo ink in my other Epson 2803
The F170 automatically mirrors in the print settings so you are probably mirroring too many times. Be sure to press your print to 100% white polyester fabric to test the colors.

Love your videos! You share a lot of info and always give honest feedback. This really helped me understand what I would be getting if I purchase the printer. THANK YOU!
So my prints are transferring very faded from the Epson 170. Is this because of the cotton content? Am I printing on the wrong side of the paper? Wrong heat settings, timing? Is there a setting cheat sheet? A little disappointed right now.

I also leave mine plugged in. When I set mine up it has always had the bidirectional printing on so I leave it. I tried both ways snd did not see a difference with this machine? I also have had it on rigid instead of textile when printing shirts. Haven’t ever changed that setting. Haven’t t printed out a comparison so I guess I’ll try. Had my machine since 2021 and I love it. I use photoshop elements to print from.
Just recieved one for Christmas and the set up was very easy. My question is what should I be doing if printing from Silhouette Business Edition? Should I be using the ICM color management under the 'more options tab' with this software? I haven't found any videos that clearly state what to use. Thank you so much and Happy New Year!

Hi I have this printer but I can’t figure out how to load the 8.5x14 paper. When I put it in the tray it wrinkles all the paper or causes a paper jam. Please help!
Thanks so much for the information. Been looking for a sublimation printer at a reasonable price. I don't want to convert because I don't want to void a warranty on a brand-new machine.
This was very helpful! I am on a Mac and I am struggling to find "mirror image" in the print dialog through photoshop or the print driver. Do you have any idea where it might be? Can I instead of doing it in the print dialogue just go to IMAGE>IMAGE ROTATION>FLIP CANVAS HORIZONALLY? Also had 2 other questions. Is it best to covert the color profile to CMYK if they are in adobeRGB or sRGB? Also, do you need to save the final image you are sublimating in any certain format such as a png? What I am doing is designing the graphic in photoshop since it is what I am used to working with. Just not sure if I can print the image as a jpg or a tiff? Or does it need to be converted to a png first? Hopefully my questions make sense. Thank you !
Hello got an Epson surecolor f170 and just found out I cannot print using iPad or iPhone. Unfortunately I waited a see of months to open the box, too late to return. I’m sad that I can’t print
hard question I know but if nothing else was a factor which one would you recommend out of the epson f170 (f100 over here) and sawgrass sg500? i've narrowed it down to these two and their both in stock but i cant decide between them even though ive watched your videos on both.😬 love your content. im based im the uk and since I found you, I tune in to your videos and read you blogs . Amazing resourse. hope you can let me know which one you would choose if you had to choose between the two? 🙏
thank you i went with sawgrass sg500 in the end and a year on I am still happy with it. I've made plenty of sales and therefore plenty of money with it. I replaced the ink for the first time in jaunary 2024 6 months on after over 300 prints (mug wraps/coasters/design tests) and colours were correct on prints straight out the box. i needed to hit the ground running as i was using infusible ink sheets to sell mugs and realised id get more profit if i could print designs myself so i didnt want to have to experiment with paper/colours or filling ink tanks so i loved how easy the sawgrass sg500 was as a first time sublimation printer owner and it allowed me to get up and running and continue getting orders out. however I do wish their ink was cheaper, their design software is only great if you pay for their subsription to access all the features. print manager is a great feature and self cleaning was an attractive feature but for anyone looking I'd say strongly consider the epson sub printers solely due to how cheap the ink is I think the epson f170 or f570 would be a great purchase.
I have an Epson f170 and want to calibrate it to my Cricut Maker. I don't always want to use print then cut with sublimation, but sometimes it would be handy. I can't figure out how to print a calibration sheet without it mirroring since the calibration drop down doesn't offer printer setting options - it just prints right away and the printer defaults to mirror. Any hints would be appreciated.
Hi Angie. You mentioned after the ink goes through the printer and charges you can put the remaining ink in but do you have to turn off the printer first or can you just leave it on?
Hello Angie. I watched your video on converting my epson pring to a sublimation printer. It has been working great! However, I hit a snag...my printer is not pring the color I want and is printing more yellow in place of where other colors should be
Hello Please help my printer has been sitting for awhile 🤦🏾♀️ it printed a test sheet and i did multiple test and then it stopped printing. What should i do next(suggestions)
Hi, thank you for you video. I hope you can help me to solve my problem. I bought this printer a little while ago but I cannot find the right settings. When I print on my sublimation paper the colors are not the same at all. Today I tried to print pictures with red on it and the red turned out to be Yellow! Thank you for your help
Are you pressing to 100% white polyester fabric before judging your colors as they will change once pressed? Also print a nozzle check page to check for clogs.
Sublimation does not have white ink. The ink is translucent once applied so you can’t add to a black shirt as you will be able to see right through the ink.
Hello, I have two questions...1) after filling ink and charging and then you add what was left in the bottles, do you have to recharge the ink again or just fill and go? and secondly, after using two years since making this video, are you still as satisfied with it? I tried converting an inkjet and found very dissappointing and recycled two of them and finally broke down and got the F170. Thanks in advance Angie, love your helpfulness.
You can add the ink that is in the bottles to the tank after the initial charge or you can add later. Doesn't matter. And I do still like the F170. You do need to print regularly though to keep from getting clogs!
Hi Angie, thank you for your videos they are so helpful. Can you suggest me a good software or application that I can find for sublimination designs? Thank you!
Hi Angie. Thank you for this review. I have been looking to purchase a sublimation printer but was hesitant. I think I will try this one. Especially since you can print from any program.
Love your videeos. And so nicely explained. But I do have a question. I use PS so I will only comment on those settings. Since you have selected PS manages colors AND selected the printer ICC, why do you still go into Printer Settings? I belive the "PS manages colors" should override whatever you select in the Printer Settings - except of course for paper and mirroring. But color correction should be done by the ICC selected. No?
Question...im really frustrated trying to size sublimation wraps for 20 tumblers...its not sizing right on silhouette studio...do you have any suggestions?
Hi Angie, thank you for this video. I click on the link for the sublimation paper, it went to Espon website and gave me a couple of stores to get it from in Atlanta. But none of the stores carry it, nor does Amazon. Do you know of any other place I can order paper as well as the Epson ink online?

Thank you for this video! I’ve been overwhelmed with choosing a sub printer. This video has helped make up my mind and will purchase one very soon.
Glad it was helpful!
OH SURE! I JUST replaced my old Epson I converted to another conversion. dang it! I am really glad they noticed and adapted to what us crafters were doing.
Definitely!
I literally just got my printer yesterday October 24, 2024. This video has been AMAZING. Thanks for helping me set my printer up. Now i'm going to try printing a tumbler. Where did you create your tumbler design?
For this one, I just purchased a tumbler design from a website!
I have the f170 I been using it for over a yr. I have had zero issues and I know it’s warranted! The only issue I have is I don’t like the epson sub paper. I use the asub paper and it works the best
Interesting!
Did you have any issues with the paper ? There is comment saying if not using Epson paper will have issues 😩
Very cool!
May I ask how much the inks are and where you can buy them?
@@lauraflinn2686 the initial inks came with the printer and I have not had to reorder yet.
Hi there! What about ink? Are you able to use Hippo or other inks with this Epson?
Can I ask where you bought your printer from? I am thinking of getting this printer after my converted printer goes out.
Thank you so much for this step by step process; so much better than trying to read directions. I followed all steps and no issues.
Glad it helped!
There are not any sublimation printers that require a subscription. Some have optional subscriptions.
Hi Angie just got this printer. Setup is easy. My epson 2800 that was converted last weekend I had for little over a year. Don't have epson paper only Asub and it worked just fine. Print quality is great. Thank you for your video😊
That is awesome!
@@AngieHolden I also just got the xtool m1. Will you be doing videos on that as well?
I am not sure actually! I am starting with the Glowforge Aura and making content with it then I will consider what is next!
I love your tutorials so much
Thanks!! I definitely want to try the roll. I didn't see it many places so I was hesitant to include it in this first video!
I found the roll of paper but I am confused on how it attaches to the printer! I need to just figure out best practices for myself then do a video!
@@AngieHolden try this video. This is how I learned and who I got my paper from. I forgot to include the link; th-cam.com/video/b4ykNJWuPhM/w-d-xo.html. Please delete if not allowed.
I love my Epson ET-15000 but want a sublimation printer. The reasons I would select this are: 1. Its Epson 2. Its already sublimation ready 3. ink included 4. nice price compared to buying a printer to convert. I am sold now that I have seen this video. You rock Angie! I love your reviews. Black Friday sales ... here I come!
Good luck!
OK, I love watching your videos because you’re very informative! You’re more informative than the Epson website! My problem is I went through all the steps that you suggested and my blue is still printing purple. How can I fix it. I have tried two different programs, Pixler and cricket, and I’m still not sure what to do
I would press your print to 100% white polyester fabric to see what color it presses. The colors can change once pressed.
Thank you so much for assisting me with the set up.. This was great!..
Happy to help!
Thank you so much for your indepth video. I just purchased this printer and am so excited to get started.
Hope you enjoy it!
This was a great tutorial. The only improvement I would suggest is to show us better the alignment pages. It's a problem for me as I have bad eyesight. Otherwise it was AWESOME! I've subscribed for more fun projects.
Thanks a bunch. You just helped me make a decision on the type of printer I needed to start my sublimation journey.
Glad I could help!
I was browsing the internet yesterday and came across this printer , I am thinking of buying one
Good to know!
I loved this video! I ordered the printed today and can't wait until it arrives. Thank you!
Happy to help!
I so love your videos. I do not hear well and I love that you put the writing so that I know what is being said. This video was great and am glad that Epson has come out with a reasonable price sublimation printer. Thank you for reviewing this printer
Thank you for the tip about using copy paper for the test sheets.
Thank you! I was glad I found your review as I was just looking at the F170. Your review was excellent and because of it I know it's the right machine for me.
Spending all the extra money to buy this one instead of a cheaper one to convert, is so worth it for all the reasons. Mine's getting delivered tomorrow, can't wait to get started!
It’s here! Time to set it up and make shiz happen!

I remember that I asked you about this printer , and you told me I will make a video for it , I got this printer , I will do my first work tomorrow

So does the ink on this sublimation printer gets gappy if not used often like converted sublimation printers?
I like your honest review anyway, you focus on colors , program , support , practical work , nice results , actually amazing result

I bought this printer and sublimated on some Dollar Tree canvas. Happy with the results♥️
Angie can you tell or show me how to load 8.5x14 paper in there I have no idea. Thank u ahead of time for your help
Pretty sure the tray on this one expands. Or it may have an opening in the back for larger paper.
THANK YOU FOR THIS 🙌🏻🙌🏻 it took me about an hour to put this up, but without your video it would’ve been ALL. NIGHT. LONG. ❤️❤️
Hi do you have a tutorial on how to use precut mug sublimation paper in a f170 i searched everywhere for a how to
I think you can just change the paper size to match.

Angie Holden I just setup my Epson F170 with this video! You rock girl! Thank you so much!
Yay! Happy to help!
This was a crazy good video. Really appreciate all of the little details!
So my prints are transferring very faded from the Epson 170. Is this because of the cotton content? Am I printing on the wrong side of the paper? Wrong heat settings, timing? Is there a setting cheat sheet? A little disappointed right now.
To test your print, press to 100% polyester. That is the true color of your printer. Any cotton content will alter that.
Thank you times a million!!!!!!!!!!! This is the most detailed video I have ran into!!! Keep going!!! I have this printer and have been having trouble, hopefully I can apply these to my MAC. It would be nice to show on a MAC 💚💚💚💚 🎉thank you again 💚💚
Glad it helped!
Your video was great! I followed every step as directed and when I try to print my first document out of Word I received a printer error message. Not sure what to do - help!
What was the error message?
I also leave mine plugged in. When I set mine up it has always had the bidirectional printing on so I leave it. I tried both ways snd did not see a difference with this machine? I also have had it on rigid instead of textile when printing shirts. Haven’t ever changed that setting. Haven’t t printed out a comparison so I guess I’ll try. Had my machine since 2021 and I love it. I use photoshop elements to print from.
I leave it plugged in but it does not do its own maintenance. I like bidirectional off.
Thank you for making this video. I have finally got the answer which sublimation printer I should buy.
Just recieved one for Christmas and the set up was very easy. My question is what should I be doing if printing from Silhouette Business Edition? Should I be using the ICM color management under the 'more options tab' with this software? I haven't found any videos that clearly state what to use. Thank you so much and Happy New Year!
I would print in the same way and choose either rigid or textile.
Love all your help with setup! Thank you for make that easy for me! Have you tried other sublimation paper? I purchased the F170 and HTVRONT sublimation paper at the same time and now I'm a bit scared to try it. I understand I will have to purchase the epson ink, but now I'm wondering if I should send back my HTV sub paper.. Your advice is appreciated and trusted! Thank you!

Wow great video!! I just subscribed to your Channel 🥰 I bought that Epson F170 printer and a heat press... I'm going to start sublimating ceramic round ornaments. Too bad I already set up my converted Epson. Would love to have one that was truly set up for Epson. Thanks for doing this Angie!
You are so welcome!
Great video! I have two ET printers I use for sublimation, so I’d love to see this printer compared to an ET printer that’s been converted to sublimation. Also, maybe comparison of the Epson paper vs other sublimation paper!
Eventually I would like to do a video comparing several different brands but I need time to actually test those things.
Are there instructions for printer set up options on a Mac? I’ve never seen a print dialog box on an Apple computer.
Be sure to download your driver directly from the Epson website for your specific printer to get all of the options.
Angie, thank you for bringing this to us. This may be the next Epson Printer I buy for Sublimation.
I will have to get Epson Sub paper to try. As always, your videos are thorough and educational,

Hi I have this printer but I can’t figure out how to load the 8.5x14 paper. When I put it in the tray it wrinkles all the paper or causes a paper jam. Please help!
I am pretty sure you extend the paper tray. There should be buttons on the tray to make it expand.
Thanks so much for the information. Been looking for a sublimation printer at a reasonable price. I don't want to convert because I don't want to void a warranty on a brand-new machine.
That was my logic too! I love my Epson SC F170! I can always upgrade to the Epson F570 later on, if I should need to.
I think that is a great reason to buy this printer!
thank you so much.Loves the video. I will start setting up my printer right now.
Have fun!
Does this one tend to clog like the regular ecotank converted printer?
You still need to print regularly but it has fewer issues.
Thank you !
PNG does work best. Usually instead of saying mirror on a mac is says something about flipping horizontally and it is often under layout.
Great tutorial! What would be the largest shirt that you could put a sublimation on? I usually make mine 9”.
It prints up to 8.5 x 14 inches.
This was a great video! Thanks so much! Does the F170 still require a maintenance tank replacement at some point?
I would say so but I haven't had to replace anything yet.
Hello got an Epson surecolor f170 and just found out I cannot print using iPad or iPhone. Unfortunately I waited a see of months to open the box, too late to return. I’m sad that I can’t print

hard question I know but if nothing else was a factor which one would you recommend out of the epson f170 (f100 over here) and sawgrass sg500? i've narrowed it down to these two and their both in stock but i cant decide between them even though ive watched your videos on both.😬
love your content. im based im the uk and since I found you, I tune in to your videos and read you blogs . Amazing resourse. hope you can let me know which one you would choose if you had to choose between the two? 🙏
Try this: th-cam.com/video/xLGgZjCwI5Y/w-d-xo.html
thank you i went with sawgrass sg500 in the end and a year on I am still happy with it.
Hi Angie, I love your videos. I learn a lot from them, thanks for sharing such great ideas and knowledge. 🥰
You are so welcome!
You can calibrate with any printer. You are really calibrating the sensor itself versus the print location.
@@AngieHoldenthank you. That makes sense. Now I’m curious to know what it asks me to select which printer I want to calibrate.
Hi Angie. You mentioned after the ink goes through the printer and charges you can put the remaining ink in but do you have to turn off the printer first or can you just leave it on?
You can leave it on.
Hello Angie.

Loved the tutorial!! Do you know how to use the cricuit machine with this sublimation printer. That is my source for my files. Thank you
I have several videos showing the Cricut and a sublimation printer together. This printer can be used in that same way.
This video was super helpful! Will definitely be picking up an F170 very soon!
Glad you liked it!!
Do they make blank black shirts and does the ink show up on them? What about white inks too?
Sublimation does not have white ink. The ink is translucent once applied so you can’t add to a black shirt as you will be able to see right through the ink.
When printing do you check off (fit to printable area)? Thank you !
Always print actual size or 100% zoom if you want your image to stay the size you resized it to.
Could you tell me how you got your printer? I can not find it on Amazon, and Epson does not sell it on their website. Could you please help me?

Hello, I have two questions...1) after filling ink and charging and then you add what was left in the bottles, do you have to recharge the ink again or just fill and go? and secondly, after using two years since making this video, are you still as satisfied with it? I tried converting an inkjet and found very dissappointing and recycled two of them and finally broke down and got the F170. Thanks in advance Angie, love your helpfulness.
You can add the ink that is in the bottles to the tank after the initial charge or you can add later. Doesn't matter. And I do still like the F170. You do need to print regularly though to keep from getting clogs!

Hi Angie. Thank you for this review. I have been looking to purchase a sublimation printer but was hesitant. I think I will try this one. Especially since you can print from any program.
Awesome!
No?
Technically it SHOULD. But I change both places.
Angie, I'm setting up my Epson SF-170 for sublimating neoprene car coasters. Would these coasters be considered rigid or textile.
I would do textile for neoprene.
Question...im really frustrated trying to size sublimation wraps for 20 tumblers...its not sizing right on silhouette studio...do you have any suggestions?
You probably have a printer setting that is not letting you print full size or has the margins too large.
Hi Angie, thank you for this video. I click on the link for the sublimation paper, it went to Espon website and gave me a couple of stores to get it from in Atlanta. But none of the stores carry it, nor does Amazon. Do you know of any other place I can order paper as well as the Epson ink online?
Try Johnson's Plastic Plus.
Thank you for explaining this so well! I looked through the comments but didn't see it, how did you get the icc profiles on your computer? I'm using illustrator and am having a difficult time with getting good color.
For the F170 once you install the printer driver they will be there.

Hello! Quick question before I get started on my new business,
Finding the space to store everything when not in use is more difficult for me in my tiny apartment.
is it recommended to have the printer unplugged between uses if I wanted to go to a friends larger home to set it up?
You can unplug this printer as it does not perform any maintenance cycles on its own.
I followed you step by step, my turquoise comes out a dark faded blue. I have printed it changing anything I can change and no turquoise. Have you had this issue? Fix? TY
Have not had that issue. You might contact epson.
I did, they tell you to call Adobe or whatever program you’re using. 🤦🏻♀️

You want to mirror ONLY ONCE. So either do it in Design Space or in printer settings.
