At 3:50 in your video, when I choose Photoshop manages colors, the PRINTER PROFILE drop down does not show "Epson SC-F100 Series Multi Use Rigid". How can I make it visible in the selection? Then when I go to Printer Settings, because I chose Photoshop Manages Colors earlier, it disables the COLOR MATCHING feature, thus, I can't choose "No color adjustment" because it's not in the dialogue box of my printer settings. Help pls!
Hello, @tesmercado4789, thank you for your comment. The two profiles you see in the video may be hiding within your Color Profiles folder in Windows. Try scrolling down and see if you can find these exact names in the list - "EPSON SC-F100 Series Multi Use (Rigid)" and "EPSON SC-F100 Series Multi Use (Textile)" If you don't see either of those two names in the list, you can first try doing a search of your C Drive or MacHD by copying and pasting one of the two names above in the search box without quotations. If you still don't see the profiles, 1st restart Photoshop as it may need to requery the color profiles folder for anything new. If you are still not seeing them, you may want to try reinstalling the Drivers and Utilities Combo Package on EPSON's website - epson.com/Support/Printers/Single-Function-Inkjet-Printers/SureColor-Series/Epson-SureColor-F170/s/SPT_C11CJ80201#drivers. If your still not seeing the profiles after reinstall, please call EPSON Support (562) 276-1305.
I don't think you can turn off color correction in the printer driver on Mac OS. Even if I select in Photoshop that Adobe should control the colors, I ALWAYS have to select a color profile again in the printer driver. Is this a Mac problem? Is there a solution for this? I am working with the latest Mac OS version and Photoshop etc. is up to date.
I have just setup my Epson 170 and downloaded Photoshop. I am following your tutorial but when it gets to 4:11 How to set up the Printer Driver - when I click on this I do not get all of the presets like seen in your video - I cannot select paper type, speed, any advanced features. Hey guys great video, not sure why but I don’t have the printer profile you use, was that something that automatically comes with the printer? Also my print settings (the Epson side) looks completely different to that! I’m really struggling with this xx
Hi @paigejoannaa, thank you for your comment! Make sure that you have downloaded the latest driver from EPSON's website. Mac OS has changed a bit since this was originally recorded. The profiles should install with the driver.
Hello, thank you for your comment. It really depends on what types of files you are printing. If you are printing photographs, I would recommend sRGB as your color space. If the photo has a lot of green and blue, you might benefit from going to AdobeRGB, however, I would reserve this color space for only heavy green-blue images. If you are creating CMYK design files in Illustrator, you would benefit from using GRACoL 2006 as the color space for cmyk files. Again, if your files are photographs, you will benefit from sRGB or AdobeRGB embedded in your print files.
Hi @heatherbassine2658, thank you for your comment. Being a basic dye sublimation printer, there are not many settings you can use to fix noise/dither in your prints. Also it depends on whether you are printing rigid substrates or textiles. If you are sublimating rigid substrates, it is critical to print in unidirectional. You do this by turning the bidirectional checkbox off in the EPSON driver. You might even want to try this if you sublimate textiles. To improve noise you can also run a paper feed adjustment if it has that feature and a print head alignment. Both of these features make sure your droplets are placed accurately which would reduce noise/dither. Lastly, if you change your quality settings in the EPSON driver to Finest Detail, turn that off. Finest Detail checkbox actually gives less fine detail. Should only be used for type, not images.
hello i was wondering if there is away to get the actual profile download because i do not have the epson f100 series but i use the f100 series sub ink which is T49m on my et 15000 epson that i converted to sublimation soon as i got it thank you
Hi @robertspecter4797, thank you for your feedback! I'm not sure if I understand the question correctly. This particular printer is not a photo printer. It will only work for dye sublimation to soft or hard substrates.
mmm it doesn't help, I already did all of this on my own and the colors are off compared to what is seen on screen. My other printers, EcoTank models did not have nearly as many issues printing more or less accurately. Don't know what else to do
Dye Sub can be tricky. There are variables like paper, heat, and pressure. Sometimes heat presses do not always display an accurate temperature. The best thing is to try and test different variable to see if you can improve the color.
Hello. A common thing we hear is color ouput not matching our monitor's color output. The monitors today have a massive color gamut compared to the printer's color gamut capability. Often leaving us scratching our heads once we print the perfectly designed file we see on our screens. Frustrating right!? There is a way to correct this. We recommend investing in a monitor calibration device to help with this frustration. Setting your monitor's color output to what your printer can do from a color output standpoint. This aligns your expectations in designing and print output for a more enjoyable and satisfying experience saving you valuable time and money. Use this link to see what we have to offer: www.itsupplies.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=x-rite+calibrite+colorchecker+display

@@ITSuppliesINC I've been using it for a few weeks now with the Silhouette Cameo software and it does work beautifully. In Design Studio when you go to print, hit print, make sure your sublimation printer is chosen and then hit preferences.
