The Lumi pen nib is harder, so it is a little harder to control the pressure and feels like I can break the screen if I press hard enough.
I recently got the Samsung S Pen Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. It's an OK replacement stylus for the Note Air. It has an erase button, and is magnetic. It holds to the Note Air as well (or as poorly) as the stock stylus. It accepts rM nibs which have the best writing feel IMHO. The main con for me is that it's a little too skinny for my ML golf glove sized hand. I also have both of the Staedtler Noris styli. (If styli is the plural for stylus, does that make Norii the plural for Noris?) I find the Norii to be too smooth for my liking. They glide with greater drag, if that makes sense to anyone. In my imagination they feel like what original styli on wax tablets must have felt like. Not even close to a writing on paper feel. Which brings me to my final point. Are we all on a snipe hunt here? Does it really make sense to expect a total paper feel from an e-ink tablet? Don't we just want a tablet stylus combo that delivers three key things? I bought my Staedtler Jumbo on Amazon . It was substantially cheaper than the Remarkable stylus. To date I’ve had good results but not sure how to change the nib.
I just read that Remarkable wont be selling RM2 accessories (tips, marker plus etc) until aome time in 2021 so be careful not to lose your marker or you're kinda screwed!!
I even found some tiny 10x5x1mm rare earth magnets which u can put under the heat shrink wrap, to make the pen magnetic if u use something like the tab s7 or s7plus
Hey JB, anther great vid! I just ordered the Lamy because I really like their fountain pens. I should be receiving my rm2 with the marker plus soon, so we shall see which one is better for my use. Hopefully they will add functionality for the button without the hack.
what are the advantages of writing with the staedtter jumbo? it feels almost like writing with a rollerball-rather than a pencil. i like the triangular barrel. it's not magnetic so i would prefer a clip but it won't roll off the desk. lightweight so fatigue won't be an issue. the eraser feels more like a real eraser rather than just a bit of plastic-the nibs are responsive and flow nicely across the screen. i don't mind the feel of it at all. the cost is reasonable. i got the one with the additional set of nibs.
Is there a video you can take on custom template? How to create , where to buy? I need more info on einkpads? Is it good? Do you need einkinstaller for remarkable 2? Net, I would like to find ways to do download more templates for business like meeting notes , calendar etc.
My jumbo came today and has a massive drag. I can have the stylus an inch off my remarkable 2 and it leaves trace. I cannot use it. I purchased on Amazon, so they are exchanging but I was so sad that it is not working!
Hi JB. Great video. I ordered the Lamy All Star EMR and really looking forward to it. Should be in next week. Very curios to compare its nib to the Remarkable nib.
I recently purchased an Onyx Boox Note 3 and it came with the light weight plastic stylus. I see that the Remarkable nibs can be substituted for the styluses but are the Onyx Boox stylus nibs also interchageable?
Good Video JB, minor correction, you mentioned the 3rd pen as Marker Plus but its actually the Remarkable Marker Signature. I have the all those pens except the Original Remarkable Pen and the Marker Plus. (I wanted to get the Plus, but it isn't available to buy on its own yet.) Anyway, in my tests I rated them as follows on the Note Air... 5th Place: The Lamy (with original nibs). Writes well. I find it good without the cap on but heavy with the cap on. For me a bit too thick, plus that erase button gets in my way for some reason. 4th Place: Noris Classic. It writes just like the Noris Jumbo, but it's thin and long. 3rd Place: The Note Air Boox Pen. Before I destroyed it, it felt good in hand, wrote nice, but no eraser. Now, if I put in the remarkable nibs in the Lamy, then it switches places with the Boox Pen and rides into 3rd place. The 2nd and 1st Place are really a tie, but for scoring purposes.... 2nd Place: The Noris Jumbo. Fells better in hand, has a good eraser, writes better than the previous 3 I mentioned. 1st Place: The Remarkable Marker Signature. While no eraser, it writes the best on the Note Air. Now if I ever get the Remarkable Marker Plus, and if it writes as well as the Signature pen, then it may take 1st place since it has an eraser. Again, good review.
which pen does not wear out easily? I'm a college student and hoping to use this for notetaking and marking up PDFs, but I feel like it won't be worth it if I have to keep replacing the marker.
Hey JB! Thank you so much for this video. I was looking for an answer which stylus would be compatible with remarkable marker (which I really hate the idea of paying 100 euros for a stylus). You made me buy The Noris Digital Jumbo men!! :D
I hear there is a Remarkable hack out there to make the Lamy erase button work. Might want to do a little research. Surely would make a good video follow-up to this. Thanks for all your great work.
Someone knows if the STAEDTLER Noris digital jumbo eraser works on onyx max lumi? on the official site they wrote its not compatible with onyx, but I saw in the video that the eraser worked
do you know how the stylus' are made resp. if the are just hollow? I just got the Staedler for my note air. But it does not magnetically stick. So I wondered whether I could just puta little magnet into the stylus to make it stick to the tablet. Which would mean to drill a hole in it....
As a pencil collector, I wanted so badly to love the Norris Digital but just don't like writing with it - I honestly prefer the oft hated stylus that comes with Onyx products. I ordered the Lamy and the Norris Digital Jumbo together, expecting to dislike the Jumbo since it uses the same nib as the Noris Digital ... but ended up sending the Lamy back, it was too bulky. The Jumbo is actually my favorite, even though I hate the name. I still think the pen that comes with Onyx devices is underrated though not remarkable. I wouldn't buy it, but still keep it with my devices and generally like it. Not unlike you with the Remarkable marker!
I forgot to mention the eraser! The Jumbo is the only device where they really put time into the eraser! It's both soft and slightly spring loaded, making it really FEEL like an eraser - not a button, not an afterthought, a real tactile familiar eraser.
@@drymariner So do you have a paper feel experience with the jumbo on note air without a screen protector? I'm waiting for my note air, and I have to decide between the jumbo and the lamy. Though, people say Lamy is better, estetically I don't like it at all
Thanks JB, all your content convinced me to buy a Onyx Boox Max (over Remarkable). I like your reviews. I agree the stylus with the Onyx feels too plastic like so I bought the Staedler Norris. In Australia we have a 'staedler norris for Chromebook' pen. I can confirm it works with the Boox Max. Because I like the size of pencils to write with, I also like this Staedler norris for chromebook. When you say you like the Jumbo, do you mean you like how it feels in your hand, or you like the writing feel of the nib on the screen? If it is the nib, I think the jumbo and my chromebook pencil will feel the same (nib wise). Won't it? the staedler norris for chromebook btw feels like a typical pencil in the hand and writes like a felt tip pen on the screen

What you should make clear is if the remarkable nibs really make the writing feel more like paper than the staedler jumbo. I have the staedler regular, but want an eraser. If you like the jumbo over the RM Market Plus, does that mean you prefer the staedler nibs?
The jumbo is VERY comfortable to hold and write for a long period of time. Eraser works great. The Stylus gives smooth writing. Yeah it lacks the paper sound due to different nib material but I preper smoothness and comfort. The marker plus does not feel good in the hand (tacky and heavy) and it's overpriced
@@lfg235 Hey Frank. I felt the Marker Plus was too high and after seeing the eraser on it, I didn't think it looked good. Where my Jumbo Noris eraser is smooth (on my Samsung 12.2 tablet). I went with the 50 dollar rM2 pen, because it looked better weighted and I really like the gray/whiteish. I agree, the jumbo is VERY comfy. I can't stop drawing with it.
@@morningcoach I'll did some tests right now but I'am also not able to describe it exactly. Wrote my thoughts as a separate comment for all. It's overpriced like all and also all nibs are overpriced but there is a not so high demand and I wanted it fast so I payed more. I'am happy with it and don't regret.
Bought the jumbo to use on my Note Air and this reassured my choice. I was wondering if ppl don't like the Staedtler colorway is there a way to maybe paint it like with some kind of acrylic paint or something? Has anyone tried it?
I like the Noris Jumbo one too but my favorite is the Lamy with the Boox nib (the non-Air nibs of their skinny black stylus). I do have some issue with the Lamy eraser button now and then though. To me, the Boox nibs work great, just their skinny pens are too skinny. I ordered their triangular one that has an eraser so we’ll see how it is. This is recently available for order on their site.
Hi, can you show us the triangular one please? Thank you. I bought the Lamy too with remarkable tips, feel good but the bouton for the eraser is annoying. I will try the Staedler Noris i suppose, i'm affraid about the tip, maybe not so good as the remarkable ones.
@@zaibaker69 I ordered the triangular one on their site but have not received it yet. I tried the RM1 stylus before selling the RM1 but did not find it to be anything great. I think the Boox nibs are best for Boox devices. That’s why I am hoping their triangular one will be more comfortable to hold than their skinny one.
@@zaibaker69 No, the Note Air pen is cylindrical, it’s not triangular and that nib is great for precision type of use but a bit too glassy. Sorry, I couldn’t get a link as it just shows their site in the URL. You can go to the Boox site and see their products.
How about Samsung S Pens (like S9, currently available), I find this pen having these specs: 1. Thin and short - good design. 2. It has eraser on a side (it's also a matter of "taste" which one you prefer, like the eraser on the back side or a corner/side of a pen). 3. This pen works perfectly on my Go 10.3 and NA3 B&W, it has soft nib, OOTB. 4. This pen has a stronger magnet than the booxpen1 and booxpen2pro.
@@morningcoach Wow, did not know this pen, until you've mentioned here:) looks short as well, but if I understand it correctly, the eraser is on the back of it, interesting. Do you know if it's possible, somehow, to set the eraser to that side button?
Should it be stylus or styli? Nec respondere, nisi hoc legere potes sine usura Google interpres. 3:57 The reason you're having a problem erasing on the Boox is that you're circling *around* the mark you want to erase, instead of drawing through it.

Note - people reading - Coach wants these comments if constructive and I always am.
A lot of these pens are so expensive :( I just want a pen/stylus with an eraser at the end that is longer and thicker than the one that I got with my Onyx Note 2... But I also don't want to break the bank on it
One pen that I am very curious about would be the new Samsung S Pen Pro (I think that is what it is called), it's their new stylus that was just recently released. As it is supposed to be larger than the old non-pro version and is compatible with Samsung products of course for dual purpose usage :)
Are there any alternatives to the Quirklogic Papyr's native stylus? It's good but I would like options if possible. I found that a basic capacitive touchscreen stylus can substitute the finger for selecting and turning pages, like this one: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07T1X9V37/. What's neat about this is that I can use the pointy end for a more precise selection tool for separating words that are too close for me to select with my finger. This leads me to think that a stylus like this might work with the Papyr: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YFT17HF. I haven't tried it yet but I might.
Not that I know of right now but I’ll do some research they do have two different nibs one is a ball point and one is a pencil I prefer the pencil it’s a little bit softer
@@morningcoach Sounds good! By the way, when writing on the Papyr, have you noticed this behaviour? Thank you in advance! th-cam.com/video/Xbiyj7AQbk4/w-d-xo.html

My Boox Note Air stylus cracked after 4 days of use. It is such bad quality plastic. A new one similar cost is about 50$. It is like robbery. I'm looking to take the inside intestins of the pen and print a new pen on a 3D printer. Otherwise the device works really fine.
Hey bro if u don't like the look u can just cover it with some electrical heat shrink tubing, which u can get in in lots of different colours, and it adds a slight rubbery feel,, some alcohol wipes wipe off the writing on the heat shrink before you apply it,, works amazingly
Hey Dinglebarriez! Have you checked Wally World online for Canada? Online right now I see 44.56 and also Staedtler's website might have information there as well. That's where I went to see if my Samsung tablet would work (spoiler - IT DID! Hot dog). But anyway, you may be able to find it for less either of those two ways. Hope you do because I LOVE this PENCIL. I draw with it daily. LOOOOOOVE it.
Your number five is the marker signature not the marker plus. For me hands down (as a writing instrument) my favorite stylus, but lacking an eraser no longer my first choice. The flat edge of the new remarkable pens, hate it hate it hate it hate it hate it I am impressed with the stubby stadler.
I use 3 styluses. And this topic is difficult for me because I actually really love fountain pens. My whole TH-cam channel is about mostly vintage fountain pens. I use a Remarkable 2 stylus. I like the eraser on it. It's a little skinny, like a pencil or a vintage fountain pen. I also use a Lamy stylus. Like the Lamy Safari, it feels good but also a bit childish. The eraser is a button, so it does work, and that's more convenient but less natural than an eraser end like the Remarkable. And I appreciate the cap. I also use a Wacom Intuos stylus on a Wacom tablet. I don't like the rubber on it. But it is overall the best of the group and comes with its own stand. It feels good, the eraser is natural, and it fits well in my hand. Additionally, I have used the Onyx stylus, but it's awful. It's too small and just does not feel natural in my hand.
Any views on the onyx screen protector? Due to receive my tablet today, and am wondering whether its something one should install or not. Maybe you as a fellow Fp-guy can give a more "relatable" opinion?
@@johannesmajamaki2626 I have not used the Onyx screen protector. My feeling on the Onyx is that the stylus doesn't give the right friction on the screen.

Usually resulting in being between the cover and the screen (worst spot), so though it works taking care when putting it into a bag (or just removing it entirely) is absolutely necessary.
I bought my Staedtler Jumbo on Amazon . It was substantially cheaper than the Remarkable stylus. To date I’ve had good results but not sure how to change the nib.
How often did you change the nibs?
I just read that Remarkable wont be selling RM2 accessories (tips, marker plus etc) until aome time in 2021 so be careful not to lose your marker or you're kinda screwed!!
Glad I got a stash of nibs last month

Do Lamy and Fujitsu Quaderno stylus work with remarkable 2? Thanks for the video, it helps A LOT!
Nice video, thanks!
How was it? Do you prefer the Lamy over the Marker plus (RM2) ?
Very good review. Can you also test "boox wacom stylus triangle pen with eraser"on remarkable 2 and note air too?
you should add Mobiscribe to your list of styli to compare. It's very light but it works really well
what are the advantages of writing with the staedtter jumbo? it feels almost like writing with a rollerball-rather than a pencil. i like the triangular barrel. it's not magnetic so i would prefer a clip but it won't roll off the desk. lightweight so fatigue won't be an issue. the eraser feels more like a real eraser rather than just a bit of plastic-the nibs are responsive and flow nicely across the screen. i don't mind the feel of it at all. the cost is reasonable. i got the one with the additional set of nibs.
Sorry to hear that
any idea if S8 s pen works on the boox air 2?
Does the Boox nib work with the Jumbo?
Hi JB. Great video. I ordered the Lamy All Star EMR and really looking forward to it. Should be in next week. Very curios to compare its nib to the Remarkable nib.
If you like Lamy you will love it great stylus - :)
I recently purchased an Onyx Boox Note 3 and it came with the light weight plastic stylus. I see that the Remarkable nibs can be substituted for the styluses but are the Onyx Boox stylus nibs also interchageable?
Good Video JB,
minor correction, you mentioned the 3rd pen as Marker Plus but its actually the Remarkable Marker Signature.
I have the all those pens except the Original Remarkable Pen and the Marker Plus. (I wanted to get the Plus, but it isn't available to buy on its own yet.)
Anyway, in my tests I rated them as follows on the Note Air...
Thanks for the correction David!!!! You rock - awesome love your list, thanks for it - I LOVE other thoughts then mine :)
Nice extra info thanks! Does the Marker Signature work with the RM2 magnet on the side?
I changed my noris to a samsung spen nib. It feels more pencil like.
which pen does not wear out easily? I'm a college student and hoping to use this for notetaking and marking up PDFs, but I feel like it won't be worth it if I have to keep replacing the marker.
Hey JB! Thank you so much for this video. I was looking for an answer which stylus would be compatible with remarkable marker (which I really hate the idea of paying 100 euros for a stylus). You made me buy The Noris Digital Jumbo men!! :D
I hear there is a Remarkable hack out there to make the Lamy erase button work. Might want to do a little research. Surely would make a good video follow-up to this. Thanks for all your great work.
yes, there is an hack. With that you can use the lamy eraser (I did)
the one you showed, in the beginning, was marker "signature" right? marker plus is the other one. or are they both named marker plus? lol not sure
The first one is just the standard marker - not the marker plus - it gets so confusing with their naming conventions LOL
Someone knows if the STAEDTLER Noris digital jumbo eraser works on onyx max lumi? on the official site they wrote its not compatible with onyx, but I saw in the video that the eraser worked
Yes it should
Does the Staedtler Norris digital jumbo tip break as easily as the remarkable 2 marker
Where can i buy tips for the Papyr lol ?
HI, great video Thx. Does the Staedtler Noris stylus works on Papyr? Greetz, Pieter
Peter no they have an electronic stylus
do you know how the stylus' are made resp. if the are just hollow? I just got the Staedler for my note air. But it does not magnetically stick. So I wondered whether I could just puta little magnet into the stylus to make it stick to the tablet. Which would mean to drill a hole in it....
Isn't that the Remarkable 1 pen in the beginning?
is the remarkable nib better in any practical sense than the jumbo nib? or not really?
please Review on battery life between rM2 and Onyx boox note air.
Though, people say Lamy is better, estetically I don't like it at all
Hmmmm using the Remarkable Marker nibs worked on my Noris Digital Jumbo. Not sure why it didn't work for you.
HMMMM I will test that again :)
@@morningcoach let me know if it works.

Stuart I think the Statler jumbo feels good to me it’s weird I don’t know how to explain it
Hopefully will get some other comments besides mine of people that have them because we’re getting some good reports on them
The jumbo is VERY comfortable to hold and write for a long period of time.
What about the paper feeling of the jumbo on note air? Do you use a paperlike screenprotector?
@@Snow3573 No link? ;(
The triangular you mean the Note Air Pen who don't have any eraser?
WOWO now I am going to have to try THAT!!! Thanks :)
@@zaibaker69 No, the Note Air pen is cylindrical, it’s not triangular and that nib is great for precision type of use but a bit too glassy. Sorry, I couldn’t get a link as it just shows their site in the URL. You can go to the Boox site and see their products.
Lenovo active pen - has anyone gotten this to sync with a Remarkable 2?
I have not - sorry - I will try and get you an anaswer
How about Samsung S Pens (like S9, currently available), I find this pen having these specs:
Jack thanks yes this is an older video I have done a few on the S Pen - they are great. I have moved to the King Write which I have done videos on :)

A lot of these pens are so expensive :(
I just want a pen/stylus with an eraser at the end that is longer and thicker than the one that I got with my Onyx Note 2...
Great plan to replace the nib with a remarkable one. The Lamy nib feels very rubbery. 🙂🦍
Where can you buy the remarkable stylus just by itself? I cant seem to do it on their website...
I don’t think so yet they’re still trying to get the remarkable two out
Wont be available to purchase separately until some time in 2021.

No it doesn't. You should try Staedtler noris digital jumbo. It is better imo

Hey bro if u don't like the look u can just cover it with some electrical heat shrink tubing, which u can get in in lots of different colours, and it adds a slight rubbery feel,, some alcohol wipes wipe off the writing on the heat shrink before you apply it,, works amazingly

That's where I went to see if my Samsung tablet would work (spoiler - IT DID! Hot dog). But anyway, you may be able to find it for less either of those two ways. Hope you do because I LOVE this PENCIL. I draw with it daily. LOOOOOOVE it.

Lamy EMR is $100 in Canada... Wtf!!!
Your number five is the marker signature not the marker plus. For me hands down (as a writing instrument) my favorite stylus, but lacking an eraser no longer my first choice.
The flat edge of the new remarkable pens, hate it hate it hate it hate it hate it
I am impressed with the stubby stadler.
Thanks Larry as always!
