Wow, I just today purchased some Host Defence supplements, but instead of my usual Amazon purchase, I got them at my local health food store. I guess that's mostly where I'll be shopping from now on. Thank you for the heads up on this.
They don't even have to, they just need to let manufacturers police their own brands and everything would be legit. As it is now, Amazon tells manufacturers that suspect sellers showed proof of purchase and that there is nothing else they can do. Amazon doesn't show this proof to the manufacturer, they have to take Amazons word for it and they havev no recourse. Hopefully as more stories like this come out, things will change.

I purchased Perque liquid choline on Amazon that arrived broken. The company said that Amazon wasn't authorized to sell their products so they wouldn't refund my money.. Amazon wouldn't let me tell this in a review. I know longer buy Perque products. Perque is also deceitful..since they have done nothing about this.
What if the listing says sold by Amazon and shipped ny Amazon? Are there any other tell tale signs all my NOW supplement labels look authentic. I don't have a lab to test these supplements. Thanks
This is where it gets even more tricky. Amazon is also a seller on their own platform. Most of the time, they buy directly from the manufacturer, but they have been known to purchase through distribution, or anyone, frankly that is willing to give them a deal. I’m sure they are diligent about purchasing authentic products, but, I don’t really know, I can only hope. The best thing to do is to call the manufacturer to verify your products authenticity. They should be able to verify based on the lot #, label, exp date, etc…
I buy mine thru Walmart online. I have had magnesium previously and if I took an extra one it worked work like a laxative. I take three times the amount and no reaction. I wondered if they have changed their products.
There is a cheap magnesium that some companies are using to save money. it’s oxide. Stick to Magnesium Glycinate and L-thorine. These two will not work like a laxative! Avoid Oxide and chloride.
IHerb is one of the best. In my opinion, it’s the best marketplace for all dietary supplements. IHerb controls the entire process, they don’t have 3rd party sellers. 👍
There are many great companies with non-synthetic products. Great thing about enzymes is that they can't made sythetically and still be called a supplement. Vitamins on the other hand can be made sythetically. However, it should be fairly easy to discern which products are natural vs synthetic. Is there any particular type of product you are looking for? I'd be happy to give you some reputable company recommendations.

Any quality control is often skipped for that reason. I’ve sold food supplements on Amazon, and our quality control system was insanely good. so our products were better than most. but also more expensive. but i can have the same claims as cowboys that don’t test and use poor quality raw materials. so i quit Amazon and started getting into retail locations. that’s where the most money and impact is made anyway.
