Question for you. What dose of ASA was your example on? I am taking 81mg ASA daily because I had a 4v CABG in 2017 and have read about the possibilities of nattokinase helping with plaque. ASA isn’t a blood thinner, it is a blood ‘slipperier’ basically since it coats the RBC’s. Would low dose ASA really be that much of a risk on 2k nattokinase?

Talk to your doctor about Nattokinase?! Yeah, as if he or she will even give you the time or, better, if they’ll even know anything about it??! Talking to a medical doctor about nutritional supplements is like trying to get stock market advice from your car mechanic. 🙄

    • @nutritioncoachjo

So true! I moved on from traditional an Allopathic doctor and now see a Naturopath who knows about supplements, alternative methods, as well as traditional medicines and she will always try the more holistic route depending upon what I have going on. Most' of the time, it works. I spend one hour with her at each visit which would never happen with a tradition MD. I will never go back unless I have to go to a specialist for a specific issue. I do have a Vascular doc who I have to see who is as arrogant as they come.

    • @kareandersson
      @kareandersson ปีที่แล้ว +9

My experience as well, which is problematic - for instance read my comment about stopping taking supplements. What if you for some reason one day can't get hold of the supplement, or forget to buy in time - and your blood pressure suddenly rises? As I understand, since it works on its own, nattokinase hasn't a hight receptor engagement, which might be a good thing, since it is harder for the body to adapt and get dependent.

"Talk to your doctor" is just to avoid being sued for giving medical advice if something happens.
No one asks a doctor about these things. Or if they do, the doctor would tell them only to take prescribed drugs. A doctor has to follow their practice to avoid legislation. (At least in the US.)
I'm Swedish, and we never sue anyone! We actually take responsibility for our own mistakes!
But even here, doctors follow their medical doctrine. And nutrition isn't a big part of that!

    • @rockaboatus588
      @rockaboatus588 ปีที่แล้ว +43

@@larsnystrom6698 Yes, you're right. I was simply pointing out the absurdity of asking a physician for nutritional advice. Most people have a hard time accepting that these doctors don't know everything, and especially so when it comes to nutrition and supplements.
I once told my own doctor that I was taking vitamin D3, and she didn't know what in the world I was talking about?!

I am Japanese, and we eat natto every morning. Japanese doctors do warn not to eat natto if you are on blood thinning medication because natto can make it work too well and cause bleeding issues, but if you are not on any blood thinning medication, eating natto or taking natto supplement shouldn't be a problem. We, the Japanese, have been eating natto for centuries.

My mother has A fib, for the last 5 years. Had a stroke 5 years ago.
Was on warfarin for the last 5 years maintaining 1.8 INR, checking with Roche home test machine.
Has zero cholesterol, excellent diet, zero sugar, alcohol, eats 2 organic eggs per day etc.
Afib was caused by enlarged left atrium due to Mitral regurgitation due to life long heart murmur from rheumatic fever when 14.
Had 2 new valves and Left Atrial Appendage ligation in December.
Once valvular endothielised we went to using natural Anti coagulants.
Height is 5'8" weight 72 kgs.
      Dosages.
2000 FU Natto-kinase every 36 hrs, add a vitiman E complex, a Garlic allium complex and a salmon oil complex. Highest quality only, not heat treated.
You can add EFAs and Magnesium if you like.
      Also CoQ10.
We have tested her clotting time every 48 hours for the last 2 years, with both the Roche machine and the glass slide method.
You need to look up the glass slide method on youtube.
Basically drop 2 to 3 drops of blood on the bottom of a glass or onto a plate at room temp. Once the blood hits the surface, start a stop watch.
Draw a needle through the blood and upwards observing every 30 seconds. Best to start after the 2 min mark.
The time it takes for a sipderweb of blood, a fibre, to form between the drop of blood and the needle indicates your INR or clotting time.
A normal INR can measure 2 to 5 mins. On Warfarin at INR 1.8 mums time was 5 to 7 mins, sometimes as low as 3 to 4 mins depending on dietary greens. (K1 intake.)
On the above Natto-kinase dose mum measures 5 to 8 mins.
Meanwhile, on the Roche INR machine her INR measures 1.2.
However, this is not her clotting time, but the calculated clotting time based on levels of factors VII and VIII.
Natto-kinase reduces these only around 30 % at this dosage level, but it increases anti-fibrinogen significantly.
      This is working so far.
The thing is, everyone is different, because of diet, history, metabolism, genetics, environment, activity.
If you're got calcification of your arteries, that's a problem.
You need a total blood calcium test, and maybe K2.
Taking responsibility for you health needs to start 25 years ago. I'm sorry, but that's the reality.
And reading. The volume of reading to get us to here is massive.
And testing, you have to test everything every 24 hrs to know what your doing, and still we are afraid to get it wrong.
Hopefully, if you've looked after yourself, got off all added sugar, eat whole food and organic diet, zero coffee or alcohol, you can make some use of this.

I had a mild heart attack 6 months ago, the doctor automatically prescribed Statins.
I had one 40% blockage in an artery. I did some research and found a lot of information on the long term risk of Statins and instead changed my diet completely, after my 6 day stay in the hospital, Other than the blockage no other problems were found. I started taking a modest dose of NattoKinase and had test again at a clinic near my home at the 60 day mark of my new diet and NattoKinase, my artery clog was 18%. I have returned to the gym for 3 day a week resistance training, I gained 6kg of muscle, and my 47 yr old athlete GF said even my erections were stronger. I am75 and feel great. For my birthday she promised to have her close friend to celebrate the birth day and regaining health with a mini-orgy but it turned out she was joking.
Statins are more risky than they are worth and once starting you have to continue the rest of your life because they suppress your natural mechanisms for breaking up clogs.
I take 6 common vitamins and minerals plus L-Citrulline, and essentially the Mediterranean diet and zero processed foods

One year plus on Natto, 10 years on serrapeptase with no noticeable side effects. I would like to have a thorough look at blood chemistry, arterial plaque, etc. Visible scars are reduced, Peyronie's scarring and curve is much reduced, BP and weight much lower, joint pain reduced to mostly none, trigger finger gone, sinus and lung congestion cleared. Very active dreams, clearer thinking, speech hesitation gone.
No sugar, very low carb diet for 2 years.

Natto is fermented soybeans that contains nattokinase along with other nutrients. Although natto contains less nattokinase than the pill, there may be an advantage to eating natto because you get the full synergistic effect. Just my 2 cents. None of this information is new to me. I use to live in Japan back in the day. Slowly and gradually I learned to like Natto. Natto is completely different than regular soybeans. It fermented. A totally different process is done to the bean. To this day I still eat Natto. Actually, I love the stuff. I'm not a fan of regular soybean or soy products. I stay away from them. Just Natto I eat. It's a superfood. Very healthy for you. It has the most Vitamin K2 than any other food. K2 can help clear out the arteries. Very heart-healthy, and yes it has Nattokinase which has many health benefits as well such as lowering blood pressure. If you're on BP meds. be careful eating Natto. Monitor your BP. It can drop. It's also loaded with probiotics. Great for your digestion.

I used to wake sometimes with headaches. I know most people whose blood pressure elevates have no symptoms, but for some reason I have always been sensitive to this and get a recognizable headache. My experience. I'm 74 and prior to my ablation in Dec of 22, I was 100% AFIB for a year and a half. My AFIB started in Nov 2015 and progressed in spite of medications. While on Eliquis my doctor had me on a baby aspirin as well. Over time I developed severe nose bleeding requiring visits to the ER. The doctor took me off the aspirin and the nose bleeding decreased but didn't stop completely. I started taking 2000 FUs of Nattokinase a day about a year before my ablation was done because of the recent epidemic that appeared in 2020. After my ablation in Dec 2022, my AFIB went to zero and has remained so since. I was taken off Eliquis, but I still take 2000 FUs of Nattokinase with no bleeding problems to date. Since you didn't mention the dosage she was taking, I went and read the case study (thank you for providing links to your references!), and noticed that the authors didn't give a dosage either. But as I read further I discovered why: _"Our patient had been ingesting nattokinase daily. She is unsure how many she takes, _*_“sometimes a handful”._*_ She lived alone and as such there was no one to confirm how many nattokinase supplements she had been taking daily."_
Yikes! Alright, kids, important safety tip: don't take pills by the handful, mmkay?
It should also be noted that the patient _"presented to the hospital _*_for a mechanical fall."_* So it's quite plausible to suppose that her internal hemorrhage was precipitated by this event, and not just a "spontaneous" bleed.

One aspect of nattokinase as well as other supplements that works and are not part of common nutrition is what happens when you stop. problem with cardio vascular system is weak arteries. Why the arteries thicken and get plug is just lack of right nutrition to keep them well maintain and also taking in foods which promote inflammation and damage to the cells and walls in the vascular system. What builds strong arteries? That is what you need to concentrate because even if you clean them up lets say with Nattokinose or some other mechanical ways, if you do not change the nutrient in take to support building healthy cell walls in your arteries you will eventually get the same issue again. Eliminate the cause of the issue and you wont have to deal with symptoms, because the system will work well.

I don't know if its because I'm taking Methatrexate, but within two weeks of taking Nattokinase my skin started weeping and bleeding where I wore jewelry. The back of my neck from my gold necklace, My fingers from two gold rings and my ears from my earnings. I also noticed my skin was becoming really delicate. When I scratched my skin even gently, it opened up like I'd been at myself with a knife. I stopped taking it and the problem stopped.

I never had cold feet or hands before this and it is just so hard to deal with. I’m going to continue to up the dose to 1/2 tomorrow and probably a full pill the following day. Hoping this helps. I had a bad allergic reaction to Serrapeptase and switched to Nattokinase and can tolerate it without any problems. The serrapeptase was giving me at first loose stools then after a few days some diarrhea, and I kept taking it on an empty stomach with plenty of water until finally I experienced an anaphylactic shock with a severe drop in blood pressure, ...I collapsed in the bathroom with diarrhea and in anaphylactic shock. Many believe these enzymes do not make it past the stomach. My case suggests serrapeptase does. I was not taking enteric pills just swallowing with plenty of water on an empty stomach. My side effects mainly diarrhea would start a few hours after swallowing so I conclude the enzyme had to get past the stomach and into the lower digestive track where it would cause me an allergic reaction- diarrhea. Nattokinase I can tolerate, even large doses over many months. I hope it is also able to get past the stomach like serrapeptase could and I hope it is doing some good for me. I do not feel any different though.

Natto tastes revolting. The Japanese are brave. Hard to overdose therefore. Easy to see why the kinase pill version is preferred. Blood thinners of all types can and do go wrong. Monitoring is usually needed - blood tests. So Nattokinase related bleeding would be like another cause or activator of a known thing. NSAIDS account for many admissions to hospital with bleeding - their Asprin like effects.
