- The Everyday Driver guys get some time with Fisker's first car, the Karma. They seek out some slow neighborhood cruises and fast canyon roads to see where this $100k executive limo succeeds and fails.

We mentioned the Volt for a few reasons: The powertrain idea in these two cars is very similar to each other and yet very uncommon among cars in general. They were also developed around the same time. And the Fisker even uses a GM engine in their system. They aren't the same kind of cars, obviously, but they certainly have connections. We hoped you noticed that the electric range and MPG were given with on-screen text. Like the Volt, the guys find this power-train idea to be interesting and pretty seamless, but it sadly doesn't offer impressive electric range or great MPG. Thanks for watching and commenting!

lol 20 mpg after you go out of your 30 mile range, how the hell is that green. the same engine in a small car with no electric motor could get double that

The Karma has a few shortcomings, but this car does what it is intended to do very well. It offers an alternative powertrain, a unique driving experience, and seriously fashionable looks. People should just lay off of giving Fisker a hard time. I hope they survive.
The prius is actually a reliable car which does its job from getting you from A to B while saving fuel while this does the same in style. The future of automobiles is this.
Gotta give it up for the dane Henrik Fisker, he certainly have an eye for designing cars..was also the guy behind a good part of the Aston Martin turn-around with the DB9 & Vantage..
I personally really like the look of the Fisker Karma, it got almost an prefund kind of look, that puffles you an liitle with that sleek elegant and very relax calm look (yeah', i know i look good, but i cant help myself) the "fisker carma" and the "maserrati granturismo" very stylish-designed-cars' imo ' at least in my taste.. :-)
All Kickstarter Campaigns are an all-or-nothing situation. No pledges are collected unless the entire amount is raised. So we did not receive any money from Kickstarter.

Perhaps you should make 'Classic Drivers' episodes. Classic cars are pretty interesting, especially economy cars.
are you maybe trying to get the veloster turbo? i watched the normal veloster review and i was wondering about the changes that the turbo brings

Diamond White or Red Volt over a fisker. Volt is a very good looking car.
I've been to a Fisker dealer, beautiful cars and a damn shame it didn't have a petrol engine variant. For that kind of money and you drive it to/from the office before it ends up running on gasoline anyway to recharge the batteries. Dealerships have to send techs to your house to fix it if it goes bad. Electric cars are stupid b/c to create the electricity you have to use some other energy, saves nothing. The solar panel roof is the defining innovation of this car--that is brilliant.
The interior looks like something made in a woodshop class.

I've sat in the rear before and it snug but definitely usable. You guys make it seem as if the backseats are useless.
In the owner review, he sat in the back and his head just fit, he's 5'7"
fisker is a great car... best design ever..
"Aston Martin grill"? Thats the grill from a bmw 504. Bmw made a remake of that car around the year 2000 and the designer of that car was Fisker...sooo there you go. The final product was the z8 and it was and still is beautiful.
Taste is, of course, subjective. I love the way the Panamera and the Tesla S look. And I really dislike this car. As for the review... it's another hit from you guys. You keep getting better and better. Kickstarter or not, please don't go away. :)
It is a great body. Hope more of them are supplied with GM v8s and named Destino (even with the uglier grill) until the battery situation is sorted.
i know its the same powertrain setup as the volt but you have realize that comparing this to the volt is the same as comparing pretty much any two internal combustion engine vehicles

you guys should do a review of nissan's new 240sx which is too compete with the frs and stuff when it comes out or if it did not sure also dont know the correct name for it :(

I didn't know Fisker lost all of those cars in Sandy. That's more sad, I think, than anything else. lol
I like the Tesla Model S but I'm not impressed by this Fisker Karma. I've never seen either in person but I think the Model S seems more functional and more practical to have other people in.
General Motors should buy Fisker and use their Volt technology in a new Karma

I'm sadden about the Kick Starter thing. It goes to show every little bit does help. I never blinked a eye thinking you guys would surpass and didn't need my help. And didn't think much of it and for that I apologize. I would love to be a part of something so special even if it was a small way. If you decide to re think another way to pledge or do another kick starter I'm there.

Technically this isnt Fisker's first car. Remember he also made fisker versions of SL and M6 rebadged as fiskers.

In a car that is all about being environmentally friendly, how come you guys didn't mention what mpg and electric range you were getting? I feel like that is a top priority, and from what I have heard, the Fisker really fails in this regard.

while i really like the look of this car, i can't get over the fact that you can buy gas cars at 1/4 the price that get much better range than this thing. the karma has around 230 miles full tank and charge, and my 95 Mazda 626 gets around 350 miles full tank

I like the design of the car but it kinda bothers me because it isn't exactly original. It looks like a BMW z4 had a baby with and aston which Mr. Fisker designed or something like that.

IMO the front looks like shit the only thing i like is the solar panel roof.
There's an owner review, he said it accelerates up to 40 with the screaming loud engine maybe to 50, then nothing. The interface is garbage. There is a loud screaming tapping noise from the back windows from 50-55 mph. It's just not finished yet, buy one for 100,000 and have a great looking shit car.

The Karma is a huge dissapointment in my subjective point of view... the 400+ horsepower are not really compareable to regular powered engines. The price compared what it gives you is a jocke and to be honest... until our natural ressources are completely out of reach for a regular person i will adore, love, and hail to the sound, the emotions and the joy of gazoline- fueled babys.
I'm sorry but the back looks like a depressed insect whilst the front looks like a happy cricket, not for me I'll pass, though I love the concept for the petrol engine powering the electric motor
