My 14's are on the way as we speak. I'm 6' and was debating if 14 or 16 was going to be best. This video has made me 100% happy with my decision to go 14s.
@@ItsTruble There is about 8 of us running handlebars on our street glides/road glides with 12”-16” bars. All of us have zero issues when it’s warm. However we live in the Northeast and when it gets colder out. Such as below 45° you will feel it on your hands. You can always buy a pair of Memphis shades hand guards for the cooler temps or gloves or heated grips. 99% of our riding is in warmer temps
Back in 2005 when I knew nothing about Harley Davidson’s, other than the fact that I wanted one, I got a softail deluxe and put some 18 inch ape hangers on it. I am a 6 foot tall man. And I got the bright idea to ride from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara, and I regretted it. as of now I have a 2023 road glide and I’m definitely going to get the 14 inch factory 47’s. Thank you for this video.
Agreed. I'm also 6-4 and I run 14" Vindikta's on my 2012 Road-Glide. I could have probably gone with 16" but I did'nt want to sacrifice control and maneuverability.
Good call bro. I have often wondered for myself as well. Thinking I wanted 16” but I Road a buddy’s Street Glide with 14”’s on it and it felt perfect for myself (I’m 6’ tall)
You don't look 6'4 on your road glide I'm 6'3 and feel like a monster on my street glide I was about to order 16"s until I watched this im definitely going with 14"s now thank you
I’m 5’9 and 14” Legacy Factory 47 were perfect !! I really like the Legacy look since just about everyone is running “ meat hooks “ of one variety or another .
@@DownSouthDon I think you need to step up to a boss Hoss! Good video by the way. I’m 6 foot tall 230 pounds. I just bought a road king special. I think I’m going to go with 16 inch Carlini gangster ape hangers. Compared to the 9 inch mini aprs on there now. My arms may be a little angled upward. But the styling is killer!
I’m in the market for new bars- between the kst and the factory 47 I’m a female -5’5 with a stock handlebars of 9” on a 22 RG Height? Do a 12 or a 14 ? And, I’m concerned about the width on the factory 47 - on the 14s it’s 37” on the 12 it’s 36 the kst that can be adjusted - thoughts?
I'm thinking about putting Diablo Rhinos on my '22 Fat Boy. I'm also 6'-4" and am looking to be even with our just below shoulder height. Any recommendations (12's or 14's)?
Im also 6'-4" 300lbs. I was thinking 16s would be perfect for my 06 road king but have actually been torn between 14s and the 16s Is it REALLY a big enough difference?
I am 6 feet tall. Your recommendation please ....12 s or 14 s...I did sit on a bike at the dealer with 14's and they where higher than my shoulders felt comfortable but...thinking twelves may be better. Your thoughts please ....great video DSD.
Hey, just wanted to ask you as I am with the same dilemma , between 12" and 14". I'm 6´1" and most people like to go high and recommend the 14" but I don't want to lose maneuverability and ride a bit sporty in turns and fast; so I wondered if 12" would do the trick. What did you end up getting?. I ride a Road King Special and the stock bars are 9" tall with 36" width and max 5"-6" pullback ...and just can´t reach the bar without arms full stretch and being stiff as a wooden stick ..... so upper back is in constant pain and I feel like am on top of the bike with almost no arm length to turn with some flex :P

I’m Running 12 inch factory 47’s on my street glide.
I love them
How do you feel about the angle of the wrist. Do you find the bars are to wide? Thinking of going 12 for my ride glide. I'm 5'10

Bars are perfect
Ain’t too bad with handles over fairing is it? That was my only concern but thinking doing the same

I'm glad you did this. Simple. To the point. I've watched like 20 different videos but this made sense. 14" for me @ 6'
Glad to be able to help
First time to the channel and good stuff. Looking for bars for my 21 RG
Hello and welcome! All bars are currently on back order. There will be releasing batches periodically
Dude, your a big guy! You make those touring bikes look like mopeds !

I’m 6’2” and always thought my 14 Factory 47s were too short
I guess it depends on what style of riding you’re doing
Thank you for the information very well done
Thanks!
Personal preference, had 18s on my 2012 king and i could ride it for miles no issues
Good information thank you
No problem! Thanks for subscribing

Good job Don!!
Thanks!
12” has always been right for me. 16” takes away the handling.
Agreed!

I believe the 14s have better control with less flex. Just my opinion…
Great info Thanks
good information 💪🏾
Wasn't that second bike a ultra and not street glide?
Most definitely an ultra
That’s San jac Harley!!

Go for the 12” for better handling.
