The new Ford Transit Courier is Ford’s smallest and most affordable van, based on the Puma/Fiesta platform. Offering a range of powertrains as well as cargo options, the Courier aims to suit many people and businesses.
I reviewed the high spec Limited model which features the 16” alloy wheels, rear camera and body-coloured door handles.

I like it - definitely a huge improvement on the old courier and it’ll be great to see the passenger car version. Especially since some rivals like the Rifter are now EV only, Ford could do well offering a passenger version with petrol or mild hybrid at a lower cost than its rivals.
Odd that Ford are charging extra for led daytime time running lights though - especially on such a new design. Surely led’s are cheap enough now to fit them as standard! I’d have thought the cost of offering multiple options at manufacturing would cost Ford more than just fitting them as standard to all models.
You’re right too Sam, the more American looks are suiting the new Ford commercials very well.

It is strange that the LED day-time running lights aren’t standard, I think most people will spec them anyway. Yes like I said I’m loving the American chunky styling Ford are showcasing across their PRO range!

I personally think the Ford vans look better than the cars and the plastic but robust interior is what you expect.
Keep it up with the van reviews as we don't see many TH-camrs doing this.
Worth checking out the cars with brands people don't hear about much, i.e. Maxus, Mitsubishi, LEVC etc as I believe they would be a better suited to your way of describing their cars.

Glad you enjoyed Steven! The Connect (based on the Volkswagen Caddy) is available in a longer wheelbase version and isn’t massively bigger so that could be a good option!

Hi I’m glad you enjoyed my review, those are just my thoughts, I don’t believe Ford has confirmed anything yet. Previous models have added different engines later on, or for a facelift model, so those other powertrains could still come!

Engine is changed a bit but oil pump is still under problems. Ford support is changed cause Ford made problems to buyers who owned Ecoboost 1.0 2012-2019.

These van reviews are not the best, to me a bloke who works out of a works van everyday. I've got a new shape caddy which yeah drivers great but it's in the garage all the time. To say it can carry pallets etc means nothing to most van drivers UK.
Thanks for putting across your opinions John, what would you find more useful for me to mention in future van reviews then?
Being able to now carry 2 pallets is another way someone will be able to visualise the size of the cargo area.
@@Carcode nothing wrong with your review I just find these reviews look at the van as almost a car. When I look at a van I look at how many lights are in the cargo area, what sort of racking could go in that van etc. like I say I got the latest caddy and it drives lovely but every week there is a software fault as such.
why is it in the garage all the time ? are they unreliable ? quality ?
@@3211SD recall, door solenoids, door kept opening on its own, plastic trim that says caddy kept falling off but had the number plate light in it. Plus it goes through tyres like nobody's business. I had exactly the same caddy but a 69 plate lwb colour coded bumper one and no issues.
Alloy wheels should be banned on vans and other commercial vehicles. By law.
Hopefully when the 2025 model is released, the digital instrument panel will have been replaced by an analogue one.
My guess is you are over 40..

Sadly. I am well past 40, and I have come to believe that things should be simple and practical in most everyday cases. It's okay to be elaborate and fancy if you are something artistic, including bespoke and custom vehicles, but for everyday stuff simplicity and practically are king and queen.
BTW I am writing this as someone who has a CompSci degree and works in ICT.
@@stevegandalf4739 I am over 40 too.. considering what some over vehicles are like these days I find it rather simple, manual handbrake is welcome for example. I have an Active ecoboost manual on order and like its car like features, we don't all use these vehicles for work purposes!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Steve, why do you think alloys should be banned on commercial vehicles? To be fair an analogue dial wouldn’t bother me, the digital dials just make it a bit more modern the market is really competitive now so they have to keep up by including the latest feature.
@@Carcode I don't think that alloys should be banned on commercial vehicles as such, but with your typical Ford Transit/Peugeot/VW type van vehicle, they are built primarily as business vehicles for goods delivery and as tradesmen's vehicles.
This means that they should be as simple and cheap to maintain as possible. IMHO alloy wheels on passenger cars are primarily a cosmetic feature to the car, and can be scuffed and kerbed very easily because the finishes on them are usually fairly shiny and soft. This spoils the whole look of the wheel. Although these can be repaired and brought back to new condition with some (fairly) skill full DIY this is time consuming, involving sanding, buffing, spray painting several layers.
This is the last thing a tradesmen or delivery driver is normally interested in doing.
If the van is intended to be used as a customised vehicle, then alloys are fine, but as I said before, putting them on a commercial business vehicle makes zero sense.
Otherwise, they would have put them on 7.5 tonne class vehicles and HGVs years ago, which I can't think truck makers will start doing unless there is a very serious world steel shortage LOL.
Likewise I think it's much more practical to keep analogue dials rather than digital dashboards in commercial vehicles. If one part of the digital dashboard failed, then the manufacturer could charge many hundreds (or even thousands on a larger commercial vehicle) to replace the whole dashboard system. Analogue dials have served us faithfully for 100 years or more, IIRC. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Yeah, 25k for a Dagenham dustbin built to the cheapest level attainable. Very afFraudable !
