"best possible use of everything he has given us" ... To me, the best use of my time and resources amount to helping myself, in order to help others. I don't always think like that, explicitly, when doing what I do. But, I often look back, and recognize that this is actually what drives me.
As a child I remember thinking Dad was very selfish. Until I started working beside him. His "selfishness" and "greed" caused him to help out a huge number of people. Thanks Dad.

There is a difference between what is a "SIN" and what is simply "not good, or not the best".
