I thought I enclosed a letter when I shipped the drill press but evidently not. I have sent you a copy of it this morning. I recently bought another drill press which brought my total up to eight and decided seven is my limit. So I had to get rid of one of them, and thought you would like to have it as I know you appreciate the quality of Cameron products. Never mind the fact that the one I replaced it with weighs 1050 lbs. The point is I know my limit and can hold myself to seven drill presses. Glad you got it up and going.

    Mr. Pete,
Nice video on the Albrecht chuck removal. I was reminded of a purchase I made a couple of years ago. Among other things I build and make acoustic guitars pretty much the “old world” way. I got involved repairing a vintage Martin and was needing to drill some extremely fine holes to aid in removing the neck from the body for a reset. My problem was none of my drills had a chuck that would close on the tiny drill I was using. I came across a #O Jacobs Chuck in a Garret Wade Catalogue. The price was rather cheap for a GW item, I think around 15 bucks. I ordered it and to my surprise it came in a very nice wooden box and included two arbors, the key, half a dozen number drills along with the tiny chuck itself. I just went out to the shop through the dark and cold to look at it. I knew it wasn’t an Albrecht and probably was made in that place we used to say we would end up if we dug deep enough. Sure enough it was but still a pretty decent made little chuck. One of the arbors is a short straight shank the other is tapered. No idea which taper. All in all a pretty neat little device for precision work. I remember GW saying in their catalog promotion they had come by the little chucks via a tool that didn’t meet their standards but were so impressed with the chuck they decided to offer them as a stand alone product. Now Garret Wade products come and go so I don’t know if they still offer them. I couldn’t find them on their website but a call or email to them would reveal if they still have them. I know you probably don’t need one but maybe some of your viewers might be interested. I plan to make a precision drill press using the chuck sometime in the future if I live long enough.
    Dale

Oh how wonderful what a little baby x 2 we love these drill presses Made in the USA still. Albrecht chucks (not cheap bought em New Old Stock or would not have as many) are what we keep in stock because we do a lot of micro holes. I remember this "What Is It" teacher I think it is from the aerospace industry was my guess (to my self) then. Nice chuck removal liking the wedges. We love the Dumore, they to are in business and we use their motors still. We realize how happy you have got to be with those garage estate sale finds mr.pete. Oh she sounds so smooth, really nice.

I used to drive by the Jacobs West Hartford facility occasionally some years back after they moved down south. It was a handsome looking facility considering it was a factory. If made of tool steel, i doubt, that you need to harden them for frequently use. For the larger ones, you can add a bit of Moly frease to them, that should be enough. Not that harden them is so much trouble, but you need to temper them also. The drill press is nice. A lot of people only have the large machines, and they are way to slow for those small drills. And you have a lack of feel using the large machines with tiny drill bits.

I know how u can afford that chuck. Monitize your videos. I dont think people will mind too much. We are willing to watch an add so you get paid to do this. Other then ocasionally seeing an add before the video starts i never see adds on your channel.
