The worst thing is the acting of Sam(Jared) and Dean(Jensen) in season 11 when they learn finally the truth. I don't know if I have to condemn actors or writers on this point. You don't feel surprise and certainly not humility of Dean/Sam. He played with them during all the Apocalypse chapter, but nothing... no emotion : GOD is finally here ? Very Good. That's cool. And that's pretty much all there is. They had completely forgotten and dismissed Chuck and after have struggled to find God in season 5, they learn he was just in front of them during all the time, showing at which point they have been presumptuous to believe they can challenge the creator himself.

A lot of 1-5 was planned, and Kripke confirmed at the end of 5 that Chuck was God (fans were asking about it due to the way that Chuck was dressed in bright white and then disappeared like evaporating light) so it was more than likely foreshadowing. Although whatever Kripke meant by "monster" has nothing to do with that's happening now. If I remember right, Chuck was his way of taking shots at himself, just like some of the convention-stuff and the fan personalities were meant to make fun of the fanbase.

Wait this wasn't GOD the whole time. I was under the impression this was still chuck the prophet. Remember they said chuck died and then Kevin became the prophet next in line. I always thought GOD became Chuck after he died.
I've seen lots of people who say earlier Chuck scenes have been ruined for them by his face heel turn, but the truth is that he is no worse than we are in his own eyes: he wants to see Sam and Dean suffer for entertainment because he thinks of them as no more important than fictional characters. This attitude comes across in this scene. God was always motivated by the desire to tell a good story, even here. He was never on their side.
I remembered a really eerie feeling about the title about this episode since it came out. Of all titles of the show’s episodes this one felt way out of line in terms of context. Not until 10 seasons later we learned of this. Man the foreshadowing
When you remember Supernatural writers use liturely Irony by making the villans tell you whole truths so you have to go back and have an Easter egg hunt to find them all...and this one feels like the most cruel especially when the title to this show was "the monster at the end of this book"...as a writer I now bow before you sirs and madams and say "I am not worthy"
That make sense because I would bet that back in the day when all 4 Archangels and God were working together to seal away Amara, God did not have Chuck's form in that time period. I mean it was weird that Raphael was defending Chuck not knowing he was God. Many angels including Zachariah wasn't aware Chuck was God. Metatron did not know Chuck was God until Chuck told him. So back then, God may not of used Chuck as a form or as a meat suit until later on God decided he want to use a famous celebrity such as Chuck to hide his appearance. Even Castiel wasn't aware God was using a form Chuck. Using Chuck was God's temporary way to hide from the world. Later in the season, Lucifer and Michael would look at Chuck's body and say hey that is God. So if it is clear that God did not have Chuck's form, they have got to show who God originally look like before God decided to use Chuck as his form or some kind of meat suit.
He even admits that he has been messing with there life, and using them for his entertainment obviously it wasn’t planned leading up to season 14 but still.
Notice that this is the first episode that God is in and it’s called “the monster at the end of the book” (or story). He’s now the monster at the end of the book
