Made it for the first time and it was a big hit. I was specifically looking for recipe without alcohol. I didn't had enough All purpose flour, added whole wheat flour, was worried how it will turn out. Loved the end results. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Stephanie. The cake was delicious, moist nd flavorful. I did brush it with St. Remy’s Brandy honey liquer about 3 times. Everyone loved it. The only thing if u cld clarify. I used a 9x5 “ dark baking pan. Reduced temperature by 20 degrees since I used a dark pan nd also baked it in a microwave convection oven. I used dark brown soft sugar. The cake was not tall like in the video.
For serving I had to cut each slice into two which was really nice nd the cake had a dark color from the dark brown sugar.
Cld any of the changes I made not help in rising properly. Tk u fr a delicious recipe

Hi Stephanie, thank you so much for sharing your recipe! Since we can smell Christmas just around the corner, I feel like baking so I'm making your fruit cake today. I'm using raisins and lots of cherries because they always have a yummy texture. If all goes well I can make it again nearer to Christmas but decorate it a little next time cos that's the fun part! Hope you and your family are well and enjoy the rest of the year.

I soak my fruit in brandy overnight and instead of water, simmer with orange juice for 15 minutes. Batter is a little thicker. Comes out super moist. Brush with a little more brandy mixed with a dash of OJ and apricot jam.

Hi. So this is the 4th recipe that I made from your channel. I baked it yesterday. Again very delicious. I followed your instructions to reduce the oven temperature since I have a non-stick dark pan. And instead of using 1 cup water, I used 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup rum to boil the raisins, dried cranberries and dried currants. My husband couldn’t wait another day to taste it so we got one slice yesterday. But as you said it’s even better today. Thank you very much for sharing this recipe.

Hi I am a great fan of your receipe. The way you explain is so clear that there could be no mistakes. The cakes turn out to be exactly as we expect. I look out for your new editions. I have doubt for the above receipe. Like my below comment. i had soaked dry fruits with nuts in Rum two weeks back. you boiled the nuts with sugar etc.. to get the flavour. Should i boil too after soaking them in rum for so long. Can i still follow your above receipe if i drain the rum and dry fruits before baking. Could you please give me some hints.
