This version takes off the soul from my body and throw me back in my room when I was sixteen listening and shouting "wide awaaaake"! Love it so much! Thanks U2 for what you meant for me in those years!
Love the lyrics, “If they should ask well maybe they tell me what I should say” (I know man do I know) but seeing “BAD” performed live back in “85” was second to none. Larry Mullen Jr drumming “live to this song” sounded so unreal but Larry was living the drums just out of this world !!! LARRY !!!! he’s the man !!!
Hey Joe, the morning zoo and Pierre Robert listening to “Bad” made my day. Nothing like it. U2 went over there time limit for Live Aid cause of the song !!! U2 be themselves !!!
Easily one of the greatest bands ever. They put Ireland on the map when everyone thought we were backward paddies. Im so proud of being Irish. We have such amazing interesting people in where you can simply be standing at a bus stop, get talking to someone and learn about their life in 10 mins. Its a magic country.
My cousin turned me on to U2 in the early days. This song in particular was his favorite, also my favorite U2 song. Basically about a person dealing with a friend that's overdosed. Hurts every time I hear this but I continue to love it. It reminds me of my cousin so much because he passed in his 20s during an alcohol binge😢. Kind of ironic for me. I know that No one cares about my issues but I just had to get it out of my head for a second. RIP Michael Reed.

My soundtrack junior year high school '84-'85!
The '80s had the best music despite what these youngsters are sayin'.
Damn! Those were good times!
There´s no words for this beautiful version
I never get tired of listening to this version...I first heard it in 1985 and it blew me away... still does
Best U2 song live of all time........... seen them live loads in Ireland

My all time favorite in 85! Turned 21 that year, so many good times!
This song could go on for an hour, and it wouldnt be long enogh!!!!!
I remember hearing this on radio in 1992... my 1979 Buick Regal... lost so many friends to drugs. Please try2 go clean and sober. Over and out
When the time comes of my addiction , With the help of Gods angels of light helping me , l hope so.

In Philadelphia, in 1985, on 93.3 WMMR, this version of this song was number one on the listener-requested "Top 5 at 5" every day for months on end.

Yes!!! It is a reminder of MMR from yesteryear! I think it was a “Screamer of the Week.”
The defining version of this magnificent song - far better than the studio version.
Totally agree
Excellent Irish band, beautiful and spiritual, and rocks all at the same time.
