Yep, haven't felt the need to upgrade since 2018. The 2018 iPad Pro was a generational leap, much like the M1 MacBook Pro. Now, the 2023 iPhone 15 Pro Max seems to be in the same category, especially with USB-C. It's future proof, just like the 2018 iPad Pro and the M1 MacBook Pro. Apple really hasn't given us any compelling reasons to upgrade beyond any of these devices.
Because they don’t make iPads every year so they don’t make yours have problems on purpose so you feel the need to upgrade like you would with an iPhone
@@Smithy223 I'm still using my iPhoneX from 2018, rock solid and no need to upgrade at all, looking forward to many more years of use. Having said that I'm not defending Apple, their products are certainly overpriced, I'd never buy a laptop from them, for sure.

is the pixel response really bad for you guys too on the pro or is it just mine? The ghosting is really bad and annoying when switching to other better panel devices and it really stands out
I have the M2 12.9" iPad Pro and it was the best purchase I made in 2023 alongside the Magic Keyboard and the Apple Pencil 2. Such a wonderful device and I use it more than my MacBook 🥹 I do so many things on my iPad .. whether photo editing or playing highly demanding games and the typical work typing and especially the content consuming part, chef's kiss! I know this iPad will last me a long time and I regret nothing at all.. there is the M3 iPad Pro redesign but honestly the performance difference between the M2 and M3 are super small just like from the M1 to M2. Even from the M1 to M3 it isnt a huge upgrade. Super satisfied ❤ if you can get one discounted you should definitely go for it you wont be disappointed!

I have the iPad Pro 12.9 inch M2 cellular 512 GB model. This is my second one the first one the Face ID stopped working on it so far it’s been absolutely fantastic. No problems at all never slows down battery last as advertised I use that in my phone about the same, still highly recommend it
I bought my Ipad Pro 12.9 inch 256gb Gen 4 June 2021. It stopped charging Jan 2024. Took it to an apple repair shop who said Apple would not touch it because the screen on this model cannot be removed for repair. So buy this model with the understanding that it is disposable! I have now bought a tab S9 plus. Better screen, better sound and repairable
I LOVE my M1 iPad 12.9!!! But I would definitely have to say it’s my 2nd favorite apple device..as the Apple Watch Ultra is by far my favorite to this point..with that being said my iPad is my main device I use for almost everything outside of my actual phone.. I used it to create documents, scan documents, consume content and even check my e-mails and text messages when my phone is charging or not near me at the moment…My 14 pro max comes in a close third but I am planning on getting the 16 pro max this year!!! 🤤
My 2018 iPad Pro stopped taking a charge last summer. Took it in, there was nothing they could do. I ended up buying the newest iPad Pro (didn’t really want to until a full redesign, but I gotta have my iPad!). So comparing the two, I never would have bought it if I hadn’t “had to”.
Got this in November of last year at a discount on Amazon. Upgraded from the 2018 11 inch IPad Pro. Absolutely love this and use it all the time. I am not paying for the additional projected price increase for the OLED model.
Thanks for this iPad centric video, as your reviews are always very thorough. I got an M2 iPad Pro and passed my M1 down to my daughter who was still on the first 9.7 iPad Pro. I went ahead and got this M 2 because I am a little apprehensive about the OLED screens that are supposed to be coming and their rumored issues with burn in. I prefer how-to videos done on the iPad because I don’t have an iOS phone and the formatting is different. With these bigger screens, I can better see how to do things. Apple is not much help in this regard and so you are very appreciated.
Tbh, an iPad with M2 chip is that powerful 1 and a half years later. If you are planning to upgrade to an M3 Chip iPad Pro, I do or don’t recommend it for this year, but those with older versions of iPads is definitely a great upgrade
i upgraded from an ipad 7th gen to the Air 5th gen, then wanted the bigger screen size, so went with the m2 12.9” and traded in the 7th gen that my partner took, and now he has the 5th gen Air. we’re happy with both, and know that the Air will last him till it doesn’t take support anymore, as he’s a light user (uses it for a few apps, searching gaming how to’s and occasionally watching videos, and the iMessage/Facetime features when i’m traveling, as his current phone is Android). I’m enjoying all of the creative features with art and the apple pencil, and just getting into video editing, so the M2 will hold up for me, as a companion to my Mac Mini and Macbook air, that both have M1 chips in them (the Mini is spec’d up some, and the MBA is base model). looking forward to what Apple has in store for the future mostly with iPadOS, as i don’t see myself upgrading anytime soon with having the same specs you have.
Looking forward to iPad Mini 7 and the next iPad Pro 11 inch, I hope the screen is as rich as the 12.9. I just traded in my 2020 12.9 cellular. But i had issues with the buttons being hard to press. Everything else was flawless.
I love my I pad pro 12.9 with M1 processor,I use it daily for at least 8 hrs and usually get 10 hrs of use from the battery , watching you tube , and surfing internet
I don’t have vision, so the bigger better screen doesn’t make any sense to me but, performance does. I was one of the first ones to order up an iPad Air fifth GEN when I learned that they were going to come with the M1 chip. Max spec mine to 256 gigs of space, as well as adding cellular. To this day, running the latest version of iPad, OS 17, the thing is as buttery, smooth and responsive, as when I first took it out of the box.
My complaint from years of iPad experience is the USB charging port. It breaks over 3 to 5 years. I’m glad the new keyboard has its own charging port. Makes the whole thing more reliable. Love, love, love my iPad.
Still have the first 11 inch ipad pro and I have no issues with it still. At this point, the only thing keeping me from not upgrading are software updates. I don't plan on replacing my 11 inch ipad pro until apple stops supporting the device
I’m still using my 2020 iPad Pro 12.9 and absolutely LOVE it. Only problem, after keeping the Apple Pencil constantly connected for over a year and using the Apple Magic Keyboard, the battery degradation is substantial. The battery only last about 4 hours. I stopped leaving the pencil constantly connected and I now only use the Magic Keyboard when necessary. Other than that, it’s still going strong. I got an 11” pro in late 2023 and I don’t keep the pencil connected or use apple keyboard with it. Hoping this will prolong battery life. But back to the 12.9 it’s FANTASTIC, can’t praise it enough. When it finally dies, I’ll replace it for sure! I had the original 12.9 when it first came out and replaced it with the 2020 model. I’m hearing the iPad Air is coming out in 2024 with a 12.9 and if that actually happens, I may just trade my pro 12.9 for the 12.9 Air, as it would be perfect for my needs.
This and the 11” are simply the perfect devices. Just perfect. I wish we could run MacOS on it, as some software is still not bailable or nerfed on iOS, even stuff like Apple Number or all the Microsoft apps, where I wish I could run the full version. I have the 16Gb 1Tb iPad version and it’s just so overpowered for iOS apps.
I always use my iPad Pros way more than my Macs or iPhones. It is the best media-consumption device Apple makes. I am looking forward to the rumored OLED 12.9” iPad Pro M3
It’s so nice you can use it in bed I have a iMac m1 and iPad Pro 2018 my ipad gave out screen and charging port got broken by anker charger I love my iMac 🖥️ but it’s not useful for drawing games movies but good for other stuff so I want to save up for a 12.9 ipad 6:51
4:10 "it never got me 10 hours (of SOT)" is a weird statement to make when your screen shows 4:44 minutes with roughly 55% battery used, you also have that Saturday with over 6 hours SOT and around 55% battery used on that day, the Thursday before that is even better with 6 hours and 50% battery used... so that's 9-12 hours SOT on your best days.
It’s not because the screen on time also includes while it’s plugged in. Unfortunately, Apple measures battery while the screen is on whether it’s plugged in or not. It really should tell you times since last charged and then stop if it’s plugged in.
I have the 11” iPad Pro the first M1 and it’s perfect still love the design it’s got no flecking issues I had had and use it without a keyboard just the original Apple cover and it’s look the age but still keeps the amazing screen which is why I got it and the chip M1 is good for easy editing videos and the iPad stays cool it my favourite Apple product it’s expensive in Australia so not many have them
Hey there Aaron, my buddy I actually have been using the regular iPad but I got the 256 GB with 5G and man it’s really good I really love that thing that one is my go to for my games and live streaming. Yes, that is my workhorse but awesome and keep up the good work, my friend and blessings to you and your family.
The battery life on the M2 11 Inch is actually better than the M2 12.9 inch because of the Mini-LED display using a lot more power compared to the XDR LCD panel on the M2 11 inch model! :)
I just upgraded my 2nd Gen that’s beginning to fall apart to this model (2TB WiFi + cellular) NIB for which I paid $1500. I’m no power user so I don’t really need the latest M4 version. It’s the only Apple product I own
the design won’t age that well but the M2 chip will age beautifully that you will be able to get a couple of more years out of this iPad. I love mine and had it since launch.
Got the pro 12.9 a few weeks ago and a Mac air and the iPad is more convenient for me so I return the Mac air and kept the iPad . Bought the keyboard from logic and what a difference it makes now I use my iPad more than my phone
I have 285 charge cycles on my iPad and 95% battery health but I do mainly slow charging with the original 5W charger. This may be the reason for the difference.
I tried M1 PRO version, but was dissapointed. I am PC guy, I was an android guy before I bought my first iphone 15 PRO. I am looking for functionality. I want iPAD with normal OS which will support normal software, not the ones used also on iPhone. It has USB C, so it could definitely support external display, normal software, but I know apple wants to sell more devices, that is why they always reduce functionality of these. Hopefully iPAD 2024 will deliver some kind of hybrid OS.
Apple has stated there is no chance of a dual boot of iOS and macOS. So, the best we can hope for is more apps, which we see with console mobile AAA games and many pro apps. Its main issue for many people is that it is different to what they are used to with a desktop OS like Windows, and they need help to adapt. So, Apple making it more user-friendly and making the transition less of a rocky road are my main requests. Otherwise, it's a great tablet for people who bought it as a tablet. Like me, I have a MacBook and an iPad and do not want a hybrid that is as compromised as Windows tablet hybrids that MS has basically given up on as they are so bad versus Android and iPadOS.
Had the M1 since launch. It’s just an iPad and will remain just an iPad until iPad OS becomes useful. Honestly my iPad is just a companion device to my M1 Mac Mini. I’ll use it for an extra screen from time to time. But I won’t be buying another iPad anytime soon until it becomes a useful device other then watching TH-cam videos
I got the iPad Pro in May with an Apple pencil and I’m loving it I use it for animation and drawing. And the 12.9 inch screen is good for watching videos as well. I tried alien isolation on there and it runs smoothly with the m2 chip. And you can pair a controller to play as well. But it does heat up in the back where the Apple logo is a little if you play on high graphics. And other than that the game looks amazing on the iPad Pro. I can’t imagine what the iPad with the m3 chip will be like.
I upgrade to the new 12.9(or Largest available) Pro each time it's updated. Im like you, I use it everyday for almost everything. I even edit my videos on it as I dont upload on any regular basis or have a need for super advanced editing. I game almost exclusively on mobile platforms and the Pro is top of the food chain of mobile devices. I wasn't even sweating upgrading from the M1 to the M2. Facetime on iPad is worthless and I uninstall it from all of my iPads. So terrible.
For my needs for taking notes, drawing in ibispaint, large memory, the camera is enough to scan HD documents, and it's worth it for at least the next 6 years. Which iPad series is better to buy?
My ipad pro 10.5 has this lag with TH-cam where is pauses for half a minute. It’s the only iPad that does this. I think it’s a cache problem but I cannot eliminate it, such as turn off, reset etc the problem remains. The ipad pro 10.5 has a clear worn spot just above the button.
Hi! Nice video, I like how you also talk about the Magic Keyboard! How do you clean it? I have the 11-inch version paired with my iPad Air 4, and it has very obvious stains in the back. I want to clean it but i don’t know how. I’m afraid not to damage it.
You said you use your iPad for everything but editing videos. I am on Windows and was planning on getting an M2 or M4 iPad for just that, editing videos. My plan is to do it all in Davinci Resolve. Can I ask you why you said "everything but editing videos?" Would this be a bad purchase for editing?
I have to upgrade my old iPad 6th gen 32 gb. The only two reasons are storage and performance. Storage because the whole damn os takes up half of the whole storage and performance because this ipad is painfully slow with each app and that is when i have only installed only 2 essential apps i.e - my own study app, Goodnotes and Files. Literally every other app that you can imagine has been uninstalled. I’m surprised that this ipad lasted this long(since 2018)
Awesome! I’m glad your iPad is holding up! My iPad Pro from 2018 has held up very nicely, but is showing its age. I am definitely saving for a new one, but I am definitely considering waiting for the iPad Pro with the M3 chip. When do you expect Apple to announce the next iPad Pro upgrade? Do you think it will be in March or September?
Thank you for sharing with us. One question please, I use a lot apple news app and also read books online a lot. Is the M2 12.9in good for that? Thanks
I bet some of those screen marks match up with the keyboard. I had an issue where the keyboard left marks from heavy books being stacked on top of my ipad.
Unlreated, but I'm wondering if we're getting a 4th generation iPhone SE this year. I'm holding onto my iPhone 11 until we get a new iPhone SE. Thanks for the video, Aaron.
never been a fan of apple. always thought of them as the embodiment of anti consumerism. i use galaxy s21 as my phone. a pc i built for general purpose. surface tablet for note taking/drawing reluctantly bought an ipad pro m1 11in since my surface tablet's jittering has been getting worse. still not a fan of apple as a company but man is it a good product. love the drawing performance
Have the 12.9” Pro 5th generation and basically have used it every day since I got it right after it was released. I’m waiting to see if the one thing I really want is in the offering. If or when they announce a 15” or 16” I’ll be preordering or the 1st and cost isn’t a factor.
That looks more like a gouge than a scratch so I would say you closed the lid with dirt or sand. I had something similar on my iPhone when I used to carry it in my pocket without out screen protector.
I have a M1 11 inch i love it and it’s my go too device for video consumption my Social media consumption and my messaging device when i’m home. and just chillin
guys I need your advise, which is better to get this Ipad pro or Apple MacBook Air 13 M2 Retina - Usage will be taking work related courses, reading books, watching Netflix and writing notes ...
Watching on my 2018 12.9 pro, debating grabbing this M2 pro while it still fits(i think) my current 1st edition magic keyboard hehe. I think it’ll be a noticeable upgrade in performance
I have the iPad 10gen cellular and u find it a little surprising how I can get 11 hours in a day I don’t know if it’s because I don’t run beta updates?
Upgraded to this exact same model as shown here from a iPad Pro 2017 which is on its last legs so wanted to get a replacement before it finally gives out. Got a good deal on it and even if I could have waited for the new version I was put off by the rumours that the new iPad would have OLED as OLED brightness degrades over time and I keep my iPads a long time before upgrading and that fact concerned me. What’s the betting that now I’ve bought the M2 version they’ll delay switching to OLED for another year and I’ll go duh! 😂
I am not a big fan of iPads. The 3 different apple pencils with only 1 of them seeming to be designed well and all 3 still need charging is not my thing. iPad os is ok... Something like Dex would be way nicer for me. Using the massive keyboard one handed is no fun- Samsungs different keyboard options are a game saver. Also the charging dock on pixel is a good idea. I have an 8th gen iPad and our family has a Tab S4. The Tab s4 is a little slow sometimes but I much prefer the useability on it over the 8th gen iPad. Of course, for $400 the iPad is still unbeatable for performance, battery, and smoothness. Your over 400 days of using thing seems like it is trying to be impressive when it is not. 1.5 years is nothing for an iPad. Even the tab S4 is still great as anything we need it used for and it is going on 6 years old. The speakers on the Tab S4 are much prefered over the 8th gen in my opinion.
For how slow that apple tv app loaded with the M2 chip inside it is kind of disappointing! It should have loaded instantly. I feel like I'm not being critical. Anyone have an opinion???
The iPad is the most resilient device of all the Apple products. I still use my 2018 iPad Pro and has not given any signs of performance aging.

It’s not because the screen on time also includes while it’s plugged in. Unfortunately, Apple measures battery while the screen is on whether it’s plugged in or not. It really should tell you times since last charged and then stop if it’s plugged in.
I have the 11” iPad Pro the first M1 and it’s perfect still love the design it’s got no flecking issues I had had and use it without a keyboard just the original Apple cover and it’s look the age but still keeps the amazing screen which is why I got it and the chip M1 is good for easy editing videos and the iPad stays cool it my favourite Apple product it’s expensive in Australia so not many have them
I'm using my iPad pro 11 inch bought in 2019 ... Still works the best looks the best ... Looking forward for 2024 new iPad acc to leaks
Thanks for the info! Just bought an M2 iPad Pro as I was told the new one isn't gonna be released until June and I'm impatient...✌🔥😁
Still using my 11 inch iPad Pro m1 2.5 years old I’m a heavy user I game a lot but battery life when not gaming is still 5 to 6 hours
M1 12.9 pro here, only issue I have now is battery life. Barely making it through my student day or maybe 150% battery a day.
M1 iPad with Stage Manager. Perfect setup for social media and iPhone games.
Man, i love my iPad Pro 12.9 M1, dont think i would want to buy the M2 unless a new supposedly the revamped versions come out this Spring inshallah
How's the PWM on this? Thinking of holding out for the 12.9 iPad Air LCD
How long do you suppose it’s going to be useful for?
For my needs for taking notes, drawing in ibispaint, large memory, the camera is enough to scan HD documents, and it's worth it for at least the next 6 years. Which iPad series is better to buy?
My ipad pro 10.5 has this lag with TH-cam where is pauses for half a minute. It’s the only iPad that does this. I think it’s a cache problem but I cannot eliminate it, such as turn off, reset etc the problem remains.
The ipad pro 10.5 has a clear worn spot just above the button.
The bending problem is the reason why I sold mine. If Apple still didn't fix this in the upcoming ones, I'm still not gonna get one.
I’m surprised that this ipad lasted this long(since 2018)
I’m still loving my M1 12.9. Not upgrading anytime soon.
Thank you so very much for your content I really appreciate it I hope you have a great day ahead ❤😊
Thank you for sharing with us. One question please, I use a lot apple news app and also read books online a lot. Is the M2 12.9in good for that? Thanks
I was thinking get rid of Cellular because when are home on the Wi-Fi?
I bet some of those screen marks match up with the keyboard. I had an issue where the keyboard left marks from heavy books being stacked on top of my ipad.
On my magic keyboard, I get stains from the magnets that are inside the ipad. What do you recommend for cleaning those magnet stains.
should i wait for m3 11inch?🤔🤔
Unlreated, but I'm wondering if we're getting a 4th generation iPhone SE this year.
I'm holding onto my iPhone 11 until we get a new iPhone SE.
Thanks for the video, Aaron.
How is experience connecting external thunderbolt display and using Citrix desktop or team viewer remote
I know it's not the same class but I use my iPad Air 5th Gen more than my phone too. I use it ALL the time.
never been a fan of apple. always thought of them as the embodiment of anti consumerism. i use galaxy s21 as my phone. a pc i built for general purpose. surface tablet for note taking/drawing reluctantly bought an ipad pro m1 11in since my surface tablet's jittering has been getting worse. still not a fan of apple as a company but man is it a good product. love the drawing performance
I think it’ll be a noticeable upgrade in performance
nice video sir 🔥👍🏻
How do you get the hover to work on iPad 10th gen
I have the iPad pro 12.9 5th gen.
My ipad overheats while playing games and battery life is crap. Is it just me or this is an actual issue?
should i wait for the M3 ipad pro instead of uyig the M2 ipad pro thats on the apple site right now
Wait the M3 is coming out in may based on leak
I have the iPad 10gen cellular and u find it a little surprising how I can get 11 hours in a day I don’t know if it’s because I don’t run beta updates?
Is apple coming out with anymore pink iPads for 2024 that are cellular version
Upgraded to this exact same model as shown here from a iPad Pro 2017 which is on its last legs so wanted to get a replacement before it finally gives out. Got a good deal on it and even if I could have waited for the new version I was put off by the rumours that the new iPad would have OLED as OLED brightness degrades over time and I keep my iPads a long time before upgrading and that fact concerned me. What’s the betting that now I’ve bought the M2 version they’ll delay switching to OLED for another year and I’ll go duh! 😂
pro 11 vs 12.9 which is the better choice for digital drawing procrete?
Drawing probably the 12.9
I just want a landscape camera,I do a lot of video calls and I’m waiting for the new one.
What color iPads is apple coming out with for 2024
Where’d you get that lovely wallpaper?
Always linked in the description. 😃
My bad. Thank you. @@zollotech
I’m waiting on the 11 inch M3 iPad Pro.
I have a m2 11 inch version i am waiting for apple to release micro led version maybe in the next 4 - 5 years
got the iPad 11 pro 11 inch version 128 gb storage from 2021
This might be the end of this era by the unveil of the All-New Thinpossible M4 iPad Pro
For how slow that apple tv app loaded with the M2 chip inside it is kind of disappointing! It should have loaded instantly. I feel like I'm not being critical. Anyone have an opinion???
I bought ipad pro 11 inch m2 yesterday , someone suggest any best apps or interesting apps
IpadOS 17.2?
yo ima buy one in a few months idk if i want to but a ps5 of this to hard to choose
