@3:20: You're saying that Akai is going to fix midi editing on the MPC very soon. Can you elaborate pls? With the next big firmware update can we expect a midi editing make-over?
I haven’t made a beat since the video… but I will not give up 😂🤞🏿
I’ll be binge watching all your tutorials for sure - love the video!
You're the best! Glad you can stop by fam
@@AveMcree Y’all should collab on a beat for content
@@og_mante5138 pls!
So nice to see Jae get some exposure. He super-deserves it.
Facts I was smiling when I seen him
Best instrument is the one you’re good with.
I follow both of those doods. Jae's shorts have saved a lot of frustration 😄
Jae is a beast, top 5 on youtube for modern mpc tutorials easily
That’s a wild claim if you rly watching mpc videos 😂
@@fade2blak91 would love to peep if you can share some names!
@@hiddenmaterial Marlow Digs, Malo Beats, LiftedNoise, Da Drank King, Ave, man there’s a lot out there that have rly been going for years!
@@fade2blak91 ill check out drank king! marlow and malo are fire too and definitely up there. Ave is aight as well 😂
It never ceases to amaze me that even the biggest pros on the modern MPC platform are struggling to figure out all the workflow shortcuts. It's a testament to the insane learning curve of the modern MPC platform but also to the insane stuff you can do with it and all the different routes that are out there to get there.
Seizes to amaze?
@@CaseUltra Oops typo. Corrected it, thks.
There’s a learning curve to using DAWs as well. Using Cubase isn’t like using Ableton Live and neither are like using Reason. How is a MPC any different?
I used a few MPCs over the years starting in 93 up until 2006 when I switched to Reason. Fast forward to 2017 when Reason adds VST2 support and I grabbed the MPC Touch. Now I have the One Plus. It's been an amazing journey
I like what you done here, comparing or show two different work methods!!
Just heard about these things the other day (from another video of yours), and ngl you're making these look real tempting
Great Overview 👍🏽👍🏽
I actually just purchased an MPD 218, and I'm using it with FL Studios to not only practice finger drumming, but to easily program drum tracks with a human feel. I have always loved the feel of the MPC pads when it came to finger drumming.
thats a cool reaction vid, as you jump in with useful tips, insights and solutions. appreciated and subscibed : )
"Akai's about to do something about that real soon".... !!!!!
That’s a great start for someone who’s has never used a MPC!
always hittin with the good content. Your channel is killin it my bro
whudd up fammo
That "chop" method is the best method imo. I've been using it like that for years. Reminiscent to the ASR 10. No extra step. Click the icon for selecting all pads, then copy the sample to all pads. As long as it's still under "all pads" you can pitch, edit, mute the entire program at once.
Definitely how I used it.
Good shyt Ave! Got a MPK mini and Macbook Pro, experimenting with some beat making. Great content bro!
I use Koala on my phone tool doesn’t matter as long as it sounds good Madlib uses his iPad
3:57 yeah my cousin bought a mpc one +. It does have a learning curve
MPC Gang!
Fire 🔥
getting my first mpc tomorrow
Welcome to the Family it gets frustrating at times but stay strong This is the Way
I was waiting on this & I been using MPC 93
I'm never getting rid of my maschine, but I've been wanting to get an mpc for a while now. Just waiting for the right "financial " opportunity.🤔😊
It’s levels to this. I always go to Jae for quick tips but I always go back to Ave Mcree for in-depth learning. Much respect to both of y’all because I learn from both.
The MPC forces me to keep it simple and not over think things because whenever I used FL Studio I tried to make the most amazing/perplexing beats!🤣
Right? The burden of overabundance, you can do any and everything in fl. It's hard to know when to 🛑
That colllab beat was straight FIRE!
MPC is LIFE
Ocean. "get the midi pack". Can never take him seriously again.
Wow Ocean looks young all cleaned up like that
It's portable, and it's convenient. You can take it anywhere to make beats...plus it's probably the most popular.
You looking at the camera Bugs Bunny style is killing me 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Glad to see the new general learning about old school methods of production. Finger Drumming has a different feel than step programming.
His method is basically based on how ppl did the mpc60 where he would chop everything perfect from the copies so mute groups not really needed. I do this on Maschine by mute grouping the sample at first. Then with Maschine I’ll focus on making my first chop instead of truncating I copy the pad move my start point to my end point then extend the endpoint for the second chop and repeat. Chops aren’t always grid but I kinda did it like an mpc2000 classic zone edit with ensoniq ways to change it and the intent of a mpc60
Switched from Studio One and MPC is a blast!
nice yellow casio digital piano in the BG on the ocean video
It took me 2 weeks to make a beat on an MPC 500 😂 my first MPC ever! Now it takes me 30mins - 1hr 🎉
Bro it amazes me how many people don’t use 16 LEVEL (yes it’s a plug for my Boi)!!! But 16 levels for hi hats is killer
There's so much filfth on your pads and buttons, they look crispy
I wish I could hit the like button twice, but it would cancel it out!! I just got off my live 2. I haven’t used it for a while but I hooked it to my iPad and practiced Melodics!!!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The problem is there’s very few vids showing modern style trap and trap soul being made on the mpc…standalone
Mpc stands for music production center. It can make any genre. The goal of it is to get ideas out of your head and into reality
@@Dustykeybkardsthanks bro.... I be sitting here screaming at comments... Until I see one that makes sense. You win
You make building blocks of music and you arrange them in a song. The modern mpc is super user friendly are you new to samplers? This is probably the easiest sampler to use aside of the sp1200
Well, if you want a good example of real-time trap played live on the MPC, look no further than David "Fingers" Haynes, one of the best finger drummers I know about
Tracklib be with the $hitz
Yeah nah …… Maschine 💪🏽
I’ve been using the mpc since the 90’s. From the Mpc 60 to the Mpc Live. I made songs like Blue Laces 1 & 2 for Nipsey Hustle on the Mpc. I got on FL Studio and I sold every mpc I owned 😂😂😂
MPC Beats loaded up in FL is the key
Nice, any new hits from FL studio post MPC?
@@gehadbarghouthi2561Got some new stuff coming with Meg and E40
That's funny cause yrs back our rep @ Guitar Center on Westheimer informed us that Logic was the way to go and you were one of the cats that had come in,swore by it and was using it. We were coming from the open labs neko with Reason and MPC 4K . Logic 8 with the addition of software synths and the MPC Ren opened up a new world of creativity for us. Crazy to hear you're on FL now.
Bruh, I started on fl3 now I got 20. But I use Ableton/maschine mk2/ and mpc live. When I get bored with one I'll swing to another. All of them are powerful.
It took me 6months to a yr to get comfortable on the mpc live 1 so I damn sure ain't gonna leave mpc now lmfao.
Copying samples to the pad like that is the definition of self taught
Mpcs always been the move but back then it was so damn expensive its why i jumped on FL3 (yes im old) 😂😂😂
Had the mpc x since it drop and im still learning switch from fl
The Mpc is and will always be part of hip-hop legacy. Roger Lynn is a staple in the community
I’m somebody that is coming from Logic and recently got an MPC One+. The learning curve is kinda steep. Struggling with having enough time to learn it with my day job and family obligations. Then low and behold, Logic makes these amazing upgrades so now I’m really all over the place! Smh
here's my masterclass 6teenlevels.com/products/mpc-one-masterclass?variant=40361828221026
I’m a real beginner…I subscribe to you cause brought up this guy 🎉🎉🎉 4:11
Wait wait wait, I didn't know it was that easy. I'm getting one asap 😂
All new mpc users should watch Jae Freshman. He's great for mpc tutorials and tips
When that TrackLib video coming out 😇🤔😌
What's Akai doing about tedious midi editing? ❤
Yeah the midi edit is so mud . Cant wait for the fix🎉
The only negative thing about the MPC is the learning curve ,had the MPC X since 2020 and I’m still learning the basics 😂❤I still love it tho
Learning curve seems to be very quick and simple. Really. The biggest problem is adding warmth and depth the sounds. Workflow, functions and features, ease of use....no problem.
It's no way bruh unless you aren't putting in much work and 2 you aren't the fie hard producer that can jump on anything and in no time no all the ends in outs becauses it's all the same just a different way of doing it and if someone shows you the basics then it's off to the races..
@@LS-pv4dhdon't know if I agree with that I'm on the key 61 and warmth and dept is with the ease...gotta learn to use them effects
I have used hardware that’s all we had back then keyboards ,rack keyboards etc. then computer software Calkwalk,Qbase, Reasons, FL Studio we called it fruity loops in those days.. But these things are only tools and its about 10:34 10:34 what works best for you if you are a real musician, you may not need that much assistance with chords and scales. If you’re not a musician, and don’t know Music theory it’s good to have tools that can assist you with that. I guess the point I’m trying to make is there’s no better or worse. Just what’s best for you so you can get down with producing you music….Peace Out from The Soul Man LC Davis ✌🏾
i like the sound of my MPC 1000
mpc 1000 iz 💩💩💩💩
I would def cop the mpc if I had the bread
Once you get that money I for sure recommend it I’ve been using 4 months or so now but it’s a cracked device to use for beats and portability
@JamzzProducer when I stopped making beats on my phone and went to FL, it might as well have been man discovering fire. 💀 I could only imagine havin the MPC it sounds so clean and I've seen a lot of producers demonstrate its capabilities. I will def get it eventually. Just have more ish to buy atm.
@@LitCrease yeah I relate heavy I used to make sample based beats on BandLab off a pair of old earbuds with the drums sounding like hot ass 😭 Got into a better DAW and saved up for a few years for the MPC and it’s a really authentic vibe you get from it just that hands on you know?
Please help me understand how a beat from 2015 sounds different from a beat in 2024 lol....there's been very little deviation from the sounds and arrangements between then and now.
i've been wanted an mpc but can't afford one, also i wanna show you the beats i've made recently havent shown u any in a while
I went back to Maschine
ummm whats the tea with Tracklib?
People need to stop with the thumbnails 😂 hope alls well Ave can't wait to share my new stuff it's outthere
Huum the MPC 37 is the same ?!?!
Jae nasty 🔥
Ave, what is Akai doing about making MIDI less tedious inside MPC?
He's an MPC Mini beta tester, but he can't talk about it. Big secret! 😁
@@towerrunner4675 if that's the case please please please let the powers that be know we need a real step sequencer added to new firmware. It would literally be life-changing. Either way, I am excited to hear something new and better is coming.
@@coconutlust470 Absolutely. If they want to challenge the SP-404MKII, they have to come up with a better sequencer.
lol we could have a picnic under all this shade in the video 😂😂😂 love it!
nah bro I ain't shade nobody
5:42 gave me crazy anxiety for some reason
I saw old boy video when he posted this. 😅
Bro u gotta try an analog rtym if u like the mpc so much just try it out it’ll change your whole experience the bass hits sooooooo hard and it’s almost all analog you really can’t that with pcm samples
They really sponsor a lot of people too you should hit them up and tell them I sent u
3:22: "Akai is doing something about that very soon"???
You holding out on us! But it's OK, I know you can't say anything. Just gonna hold on to my money starting now.
A mouse driver?
hey ave im made a vst, i was curious if you can check it out ? i love your channel..
its very cheap but it is subscription based. i design all my sounds in vital serum and also harmless along with 3x osc ( somtimes )
ill shoot you a free copy..
because they can afford to
Shit I ain’t never changed since 95 player!!!!!! I use it for studio and click tracks!!!!!
Mpc “sounds” better than any daw and drum machine. Workflow is clunky at first but still easy because it is technically just another daw at this point. All I use it for is drums into studio one so I can use my other vsts.. best workflow for me
Honestly Akai was and is the best thing to happen to Hip Hop. DAW will come and go but Akai has been around for decades strong.
Naw, Roger Linn was.
Bahaha, DAWs will come and go? That's like saying computers will come and go. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for hardware samplers, that's just such an absolutely off the wall insane statement 😂
u always turn back in to a daw always anyways
Let’s collab Ave it’s Farod
damn bro where you been?
Dat boy wack af on dat MPC 😂😂😂
If something takes me 5 minutes to do in Ableton Live, it'll take 1 hour on the MPC. I don't get it. Horrible workflow
I agree. The Live is still cool if you just want to jam out wherever you want. I prefer the workflow of the Force (more like ableton). Force is certainly better than the Push 3 as a standalone. In the end though, nothing beats Ableton IMO.
Same here. On Ableton drag sample into a Drum Rack, activate Slice mode (Slice by Beat), and then "Slice to New MIDI Track" (right-click menu). Takes seconds. Top producers use MPC? Maybe, but only on the go. 😄
OMG!!! I HAVE A BRAND NEW ONE PLUS AND I GAVE A BRAND NEW LIVE 2 TO MY BROTHER BECAUSE OF THEIR RETARDED WORK FLOW. JUST WAY TOO MUCH MENU DIVING. I LOVE MY MASCHINE MK3 AND KK MK2 KEYBOARD. THE WORK FLOW IS SUPER CLEAN AND THERE'S DEDICATED BUTTONS FOR EVERYTHING. I ALSO HAVE A MINI PLUS KEYBOARD AND AN MPK 249 KEYBOARD. I'M JUST GONNA KEEP IT TO PASS ON TO MY LITTLE BOYS.
Once you learn the new gen mpcs you can do alot of things just as fast as most daws..... I produce mostly with the mpc live 2 and fl studio but I'm well versed in ableton and studio one. I can make beats very quickly on the mpc
All these people tried the damn thing for a day and feel they have authority 😂
Not a fan at all of the mpc software. I stopped using the modern mpc series for this reason
Nahh. I still don't get it. The MPC seems basic.
Once you get used to the workflow that mpc it's a bad bad mofo.
For sure
Title is pure click bate. Nothing in the video explains "why top producers use the MPC"... it just Ocean learning basic techniques 😑
