      @@SimActionClips yes I have, helped me so much when setting up my TM T300RS! I would love to see a video one day on your sim rig setup and on what’s an optimal position for your screen to your wheel, etc!

    • @SimActionClips
      @SimActionClips  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Awesome man, really glad I could help that much! And yes I would try to make a video about that sometime in the future.
      But as a quick tip, use a wall mount which allows you to move the screen at least left and right. This will give you the advantage of hanging your TV in the air independently, and free from the vibrations of your rig. You will also have an empty space below it to freely move anything. Measure the height from the ground to the top end of your wheel. And measure the height from the bottom of your screen to the top of the virtual wheel when in-game. This will allow you to approximately calculate at which height to mount your screen. If you have a screen big enough for the right proportions, (mine is a 43" TV), you will ideally have some part of your screen sinking below the level of your wheelbase. And depending on the geometry of your rig, you might be able to put the wheelbase right in-front of the TV almost touching it like mine lol. Now the centering of the virtual wheel will vary in-game from car to car. But you will able to physically adjust the position of the screen left and right to align everything with your line of vision. You will also be able to adjust the camera position up down from the game's display settings. I hope this makes things clearer for you.

    • @SimActionClips
      @SimActionClips  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The behavior of the wheel and the effect of that "max torque" setting highly depend on the other 2 settings. I'm only recommending max torque at 10 with controller steering sensitivity set to 5 and force feedback sensitivity set to 10.

    Is controller steering sensitivity 5 just for drifting? Ive seen people say 0 is best for the most direct/raw input when speaking in general and not about drifting. Ive been trying out 5 for drifting when i was at 0 previously. Didnt change it back before doing a daily race and it seemed fine. Idk if i can tell the difference all that much? Tis a head scratcher for me. On G29 btw.

    • @SimActionClips
      @SimActionClips  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it's absolutely necessary to be at 5 in my opinion for everything. I always feel much more in control with it. And when changed, things don't feel so natural anymore. I've explained why in the video. I've also managed with it recently to score 4th worldwide on the leader-board of the Master A-7 Licence Test worldwide. Check it out PSN: drift_artist
      I'm gonna be trying to hit top 10 in all of them but I picked that one to start with because I love the M3. Currently I'm on TGT2 but I discovered the effect of the Controller Steering Sensitivity back when I was using the G29.

    • @SimActionClips
      @SimActionClips  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Force feedback feel aside, it's visually obvious how the car only behaves the most realistically when the CSS is set to 5. 5 is where there is 1:1 relationship between the visual steering angle of the front wheels and their actual effect on the rotation of the car in the physics. So it is 1:1 between how they look and what they are supposed to do. It's the only realistic setting which makes the front wheels behave like they are intended to do. Anything below 5 reduces it and delays it and anything above 5 amplifies it, and both feel weird and unrealistic and are at the same time obvious to spot in the replays.
      Now all of this can not be very clearly felt when racing or doing hotlaps, but it gets very obvious when drifting and using the full range of the steering angle with fast changes. It only feels right and most realistic at 5.

    • @SimActionClips
      @SimActionClips  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Do you mean you feel like your wheel stops at 90 degrees or are you taking about the virtual steering wheel shown on the screen in cockpit view? If you're talking about the one shown on the screen that's normal and you can't change it. Just ignore it because the front wheels of the car keep following your physical steering wheel and the one shown on the screen means nothing when it stops. That's why I setup my rig in such a way to hide the wheel in cockpit view behind mine to avoid any distractions. But if you mean how far you feel your wheel is turning, you cannot change that and it actually automictically follows which car you're using. For example most road cars in the game use the full 900 degrees of the G29 but most race cars use much less than that.

  • @Thegooob95
    @Thegooob95 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you explain what clipping is?

    • @SimActionClips
      @SimActionClips  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's when the target torque of some high forces exceed the max torque capability of the wheel, so all intended forces that exceed that value get represented by producing that max torque, this makes them all equal and lose the difference betweem them which removes some details from the force feedback. The higher you set the max torque the higher the scaling of these forces gets and the more clipping you get.
      Although this is a bad thing, there is even a worse phenomena where you lose some of the more important lower forces, because of the minimum torque produced by the wheel. Every force which is represented by some torque lower than that minimum value is lost. For simplicity let's call it clipping of lower forces. The lower you set the max torque value the more lower forces you lose from the feedback including the low force that you feel when you start turning the wheel away from center, which in my opinion is the most important of them all and is key to know earlier when you start to get understanding or oversteering.
      This also highly affects the responsiveness and speed of your wheel when you need it to turn on its own especially when doing a transition during drifting. Some weak wheels such as the G29 require the max torque at 10 for best performance and best feel of the lower forces, which is still not even enough but that's the best of what's possible at least.
      You can watch this video for better visual representation of clipping: th-cam.com/users/shorts-mi2V__LLfM?feature=share

    • @SimActionClips

    • @JaySamurai79
      @JaySamurai79 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Same. Have you managed to find a good setting? It's either the wheel is yo hard to turn because of the high torque setting, but if lowered then a lot of the road information gets lost.

    • @SimActionClips
      @SimActionClips  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As stated in the video the only thing that would be different for your T300 is the max torque setting. So think about it this way: your t300 is somewhere in between the G29 and the TGT2. I use 10 for the G29 and 6 for the TGT2. So you only have 7,8,9 and maybe 10 to test with, and these are just 4 different possibilities which you can test and decide for yourself (I think it's most probably 8 or 9). I would for sure keep the other 2 settings the same for all steering wheels.
      One more thing to keep in mind is the diameter of the rim that you're using. The above recommendations are for the standard TGT and T300 rims which are about the same size. I would have gone higher on torque if I was using the Sparco rally wheel which I'm planning to get.

    HOW CAN I USE THE CLUTCH

    • @SimActionClips
      @SimActionClips  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You need to have a shifter connected to your wheel, and you need to be driving a car with manual transmission (manual not sequential). Many cars won't have an H pattern manual gearbox if you choose to use manual transmission in the game settings (example: Lexus LFA). In that case you need to buy a manual transmission and install it.

      Which car we're talking about here? You gotta keep in mind that the effective angle of rotation of the wheel changes from car to car. If you’re driving a GT3 car for example, you will feel some virtual steering lock effect,after turning the wheel a bit, beyond witch, turning the wheel any further won't do anything.
      Also you might be just understeering. You need to feel what the car is doing and slow down if necessary and turn the wheel only as much as you need to.

    • @SimActionClips
      @SimActionClips  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What do you mean? While properly drifting, the natural reaction of the steering wheel is to follow the change of direction of the front wheels. If you're properly increasing your drift angle, the wheel will tend to do more counter-steering. And if you're properly decreasing your drift angle, the wheel will tend to decrease its steering angle which can be perceived as "wheel try to center. This is true, provided that you're not provoking any understeering. You can watch part 1 of my drifting tutorial series where I explain in detail how you should expecting the wheel to behave: th-cam.com/video/qbz6i0WxkUA/w-d-xo.html
