As a SMG Associate who works for the R&D team, I am happy you are partnering with SMG to create good content for homeowners looking to improve their lawns! One thing I would have suggested with your fungus problem in your Palmetto SA is to use a leaf rake to pull up as much dead material and fungus as possible (bag and dispose) and then apply Sphagnum Peat moss. I had a problem with fungus in my St Augustine and used a leaf rake to pull up as much dead material as possible and then I applied Peat Moss as a top dressing. It took about 3-4 weeks for the San Augustine to recover but something in the Peat Moss does wonders for fungus. I hope your lawn recovers, but I am worried that since you did not rake out the dead and diseased grass, you may not see results with the top dressing you applied - fingers crossed. Thanks for the great content and again, thanks for partnering with my company - SMG.

hope your trip to my beloved Ohio was pleasurable. i’m on the other side of Columbus from the Scott’s site but i’m hoping to turn my tttf acre of grass into a pro vista kbg this fall.
Good Stuff, Allyn. I’d love to see some of the ProVista farms start selling ProVista St. Augustine in plugs. I’ve got some bad spots but don’t need a pallet. Grace & Peace.
In my non-synthetics St. Augustine stand I do a quarterly application of a fungal dominant compost tea. Spraying St. Augustine with fungus (among with millions of other micros) sounds crazy but if you know you know.
Until I see a lot of bigger known lawn channels praising Scott’s I’m not gonna touch them. I’ve had a very bad experience with most of their products, their seed blends are almost always hit or miss and I’m not the only to say this, pretty much all of their spreaders need a massive redesign. Most of their fertilizers just feel idk how to describe it besides basic. I love milorganite and most of your yard mastery stuff on top of a few other brands, I’m gonna have to see it to believe it
I was hit bad with disease this summer in my cool season lawn int he upper midwest. Literally had 2 weeks with the dew points in the 80s. Would you just let it ride into fall and hope for the best?
Any information on it shade tolerance Alan? I know when you had the grad student from Scotts on a couple of years ago I pretty sure she mentioned i had strong shade tolerance at least for KBG lawn. Just looking for some real world assurance and info. been keen to get my hands on this seeds but being able to handle some heavy shade is key for me.
that's cool to hear! At the track we did it straight on the St Aug but on the bermuda, I have some pretty bad ruts and some low spots that scalp so we did the sand to hopefully flatten it out. I'll have a full video coming here next week.
Congratulations on the news of your new partnership with Scott's. Do you have or will there be any forthcoming news on the Scott's Pro Vista Saint Augustine? Is there a new version coming out anytime soon? I ask this because I'm going to need to do some new sod in the next six months or so.
That Command looks like an interesting product. Question, though. How about just top-dressing with compost? I don’t know how much Command costs, but i’m guessing it’s more than locally-sourced compost. Sometimes paying a premium for premium products is worth it, and sometimes it is not. Guess i’m looking for more information since i’m about to top-dress with compost.
Is the command going to be available retail? We have a new (2year ) Bermuda lawn that needs leveling in the west Houston area. We are going to aerate and want to top dress and level.
My neighborhood is all Bahia. The neighbors on each side of me pay for landscaping, so all of their grass is cut very short and is now all weeds and infesting my property now. Is there a way for me to introduce st augustine and have it snuff out the weeds and thinning bahia?
it's currently only in FL and TX. And yes I am working on it but it will be more of a 2025 target - need to adjust the packaging a little bit so it can survive the triip in the box
Help!!! I've tried everything from expensive seed and cheap. The seed takes an eternity to germinate!! I use a mixture of kentucky blue, perennial rye and tall fescue

Put some gravel down lightly and drive trucks on it to mix it up and you can just rake the rocks out that spongey stuff too high elevation and that brown wet too low and pul it into the green gently just go over it purposely not doing donuts and drive strategically and not too much
