This song is godlike. It makes me feel like I'm walking on a completely unknown world and have no idea what to do. The only thing I've got is Cortana and 343 Guilty Spark and that's it. It really weighs in as a truly masterpiece and it shall be remembered for generations to come.
You know, the vibe of this song fits the game so well. The simplistic graphics of halo 1, the colors, the sound. it is a perfect combination. I am not a huge halo fan but i love this song and visualizing the game along with it. Thanks for making this lengthy video. i love it.

Those graphics were jaw droppingly advanced when it first came out though. Part of the reason 13 year old me loved my original Xbox so much (I'm 29 now... getting older.)
Sitting here listening to this, I can close my eyes and instantly remember so much of my childhood spent playing the halo games with my brother and my friends, both in real life and online. Seriously the best memories. Halo CE and Halo 3 in particular hold a special place in my life. Halo 3 was perfect, and the community in multiplayer completed it for me. You could just get on, play, and have tons of fun for hours on end, even if things got annoying, it was still fun. I remember playing the Ice Cream Man map and the Jenga, as well as the sky races, and the sniper courses, as well as the glitching, and showing off my recon armor.
Then Microsoft came in like a bomb and stripped away everything that made Halo special... Halo was my childhood game and now I don't even want to buy another one because Halo 5 was such a disappointment to me. R.I.P old Halo
I love halo 1 and 2 soundtracks; I prefer halo 2's. They give you different feelings, halo 1 is more like a bit retro and a lone feeling to the gameplay, halo 2 is like a more complete story and sound. Both are awesome!!

It's funny. It's called Walk In The Woods but it never plays during a "woods" or forest level in Halo:CE at all, lol. It plays like you said during assault on the control room and also during a cutscene in which Cortana teleports you.

it pretty much does, especially for a game soundtrack.
some game soundtrack play different parts of the song at different times to give it a complete feel. So your both right.
Halo CE in 2001 had some pretty good graphics.... till 2004 when Half Life 2 and Doom 3 came out and suprised everyone.
