The Mk 7 to me looks like it is basically just a complete rounded version of the Pasgat and ECH helmet(s) except with extra curvature in the back for neck support/protection.
I'm looking into a MK7 myself. I had a MK6 Large, which fit, but I had to cinch the liner all the way down, and made me think that maybe a medium would have fit better. ...But then I also heard MK7 and MK6 sizes might not be the same? Im a 59 (or 7 3/8,) what's your size and what do you recommend?
jarvy251 I wear a 58-59 and I wear a medium but I have a wider head if you have a longer head you will want a large but is you have a wider head you’ll want a medium
Ended up playing it safe and getting a large and I'm glad I did, they are made much smaller then the MK6. Great helmet, very comfortable. The Morgan Defense Systems web site says that these are rated for 9mm, which would be a huge improvement over the MK6. Now that they're being retired and they're popping up on ebay, maybe we'll get to see someone shoot one.
Just had the mk 7 complete with outer skin, battle visor and chin plate given to me when I find a buyer for it I'm giving the money back to the ex soldier that gave it to me!
@@weberismail1076 there's a website sofmilitary.co.uk(Google mk7 helmet parts and they seem to be the first that come up) that sells them there about £15 plus shipping!got 2 of them for some of my mk7s that were missing there chinstraps and there very good shipping was very good for outside of the UK
N3FF42 you can’t find them anymore really unfortunately and also the suspension is really hard to remove and can’t be replaced because it’s only meant to be done at an armory
Chin straps, www.sofmilitary.co.uk/mk7-combat-helmet-chinstrap-modified.html Comfort pads www.kitmonster.co.uk/product_info.php/products_id/1867 Don’t think you can replace the actual suspension though.
I think they might be lighter than ech. Cobra p2 reminds me of MK7. British Army is currently using cobra p2. I wonder why the us army don't issue us the revision viper p2. British Army is richer than U.S. Army lol. It is able to issue their troops with these expensive helmets.
Reborndragon they are the same specs so thickness and weight are pretty close fully kitted out the virtus is heavier quite a bit heavier actually because of the complicated suspension and accessory attachment. And the u.s. Military should be fielding about 400000 of these by the end of 2017, where because of the cost the British are just giving it to front line troops so same strategy as the u.s.
The virtus system seems a lot more high speed than current IOTV. What do you think of the virtus system and the suspension for the helmet? You ever tired the revision suspension system before?
Reborndragon I have tried the revision suspension and I quite like it but I tend to like the suspension type liners more then pad type liners and it's really the best of both and yes I would rather have the virtus outer tactical vest over an iotv any day the load carriage alone would make it better then an iotv
That ECH is so f-ING ugly the original PASGT was the best looking helmet the U.S. ever had they could have kept the look but improved it. Well the marines did that . ECH AKA dildo helmet no offense to anyone it’s just my opinion the old M1 is also a great looking helmet.. and yes the British helmet is also hideous looking both those helmets uhh yea they do the job but certainly not with style..

Rex Ultimatum I think it was just an ballistic copy of the nato air traffic controller helmet
Rex Ultimatum Pasgt*
@@DevinK it's a development of the Special forces NP Aerospace AC 900 helmet.
The side profile of the Mk.7 reminds me of a mid-cut "gunfighter"-style ACH; halfway between the normal and high-cut styles.
It’s odd to have a desert helmet painted tan
People are so harsh on British helmets, the Turtle is my favourite looking!!! Great video :)
Absolutely love your vids chap. Love your passion. Mark Solware tv
The best looking British helmet is probably the Brodie helmet

Yeah I'm in that perfect middle of the road where I can never tell. I wore a medium cg634 comfortably, but the medium ACH was too small.
jarvy251 yeah I have the same problem I’m pretty sure though the medium mk7 will fit better for you
Only one way to find out I guess! Thanks for the help!

Where could you find the quick release strap for the MK7??
Weber Ismail they are very hard to find now I have met seen one for a very long time you might have to just periodically check ebay.uk

Any recommended sites you can purchase new chinstrap/suspension/pads for the mk7? Also how do you remove the suspension from the helmet? Thanks

What do you think of the revision viper p2 and cobra p2? Can you review them?
Reborndragon if I ever get $900 to get one I will but they are basically just an ech
