Egypt is a great power and Saudi Arabia is also a great power in middle east. I don't understand his definition of power but israel has no influence in the region. Israelis have a good army but it's only defensive and they have not a great ally in the region. Middle east is divided between Sunnis (friends of saudi arabia) and Shia (friends of iran). I see Turkey and Israel more as western countries that they don't want to deal with the other nations of middle east.

Iran is the most cohesive, most stable and has the potential to be an economic powerhouse in the ME. Israel and Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, is a footnote compared to Iran and would be lucky to survive another 20 years
