Nice project. I love how you use off the shelf modules and tailor the enclosure to fit them. It would be nice if version 2.0 had some way to avoid over-driving the screws. Maybe sense the current to turn off the power - effectively an electronic clutch. Just thinking out loud.
You could add a little white led
And add an on/off switch because the boost converter is draining current all the time
I was just thinking about making one. Pretty nice ideas i got from here to upgrade mine. Thanks man keep it up the good work!

Great work! I'm building my own and didn't use an H-bridge great work!, but like how my two button design can turn led on then spin motor after you find screw if its dark.

I wish you would have used a motor with a better gearbox that has les wobble. You can see the drill bit going up and down and it triggers me. Good job making this tho.

Hey buddy , you can use a dpdt switch to change the rotation of the motor . Just search on youtube"how to control direction of a motor using dpdt switch

MX1508 support 12V? in the datasheet is 10V max. voltage
Am trying to build this. In charging module battery in voltage shows 3.6. But in output voltage is not coming. Need ur assistance. Also while checking for continuity b+ has continuity but b- not showing. Battery has full charge. Tried with 3 different charging modules.
How do you come up with those ideas?

Why use a H Bridge when a simple DPDT switch would work?
Yes that will work but why keep it simple when you can complicate it with all the electronics.
Well sorry to be a no-sayer but that bearing will not help much. What about getting a bearing with the correct dimensions?
next we get the same thing but with a custom pcb
Those charging module heat up the glue and it all comes out.
Might use another type of glue...
